"It's evening! Bhavesh will be here soon!"

"And Avneet!" I clapped my hands in excitement. I secretly clasped Sidd's hand and he looked at me in surprise.

His silence made me feel awkward, but he didn't let go of my hand.

"Look there's a car driving into the driveway!" Sumedh cried and Tunisha and the girls ran over to the window.

Sidd let go of my hand and joined them.

I stood alone in the center of the room, shocked.

So I made a move to get rid of the weird "awkwardness" and he just leaves me - stranded.

Alright then.

I marched downstairs and opened the door to see a rather lost girl, looking around the place, holding her phone out in front of her, accompanied by a boy who looked just as confused.

"Excuse me? Are you okay?" I asked them.

"Oh, yeah I'm fine - could you tell me where this address is?" She showed me her phone.

"This is our house! OH MY - YOU MUST BE AVNEET!"

"REEM YOU'VE GROWN SO MUCH!"

We hugged each other tightly and laughed at our silliness.

The whole squad joined us and suddenly, Sidd exclaimed in excitement.

"BHAVESH! Look at that funky hair man." Sidd and the guys thumped him on his back while they did a weird knuckle handshake thingie.

"And you call us girls weird..." Roshni twisted a few strands of her in her fingers.

"Here we go again...." everyone sighed and fell about laughing.

"Come inside you two! What you doing standing in the cold? Come on in."

"Oh um.... here's your lipstick." Bhavesh handed Avneet a Mac one.

"Oh.... how did you find it?!" She looked startled but grateful.

"In the bus." He shrugged.

"How did you two meet?" I asked him.

"Well, I took a bus from the airport and I didn't know where I was going until he helped me."

"Ahhh.... hmm - how'd you find him Avu?" I whispered.

"Oh shut up." Avneet rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"She's hot ain't she?" Sidd whispered seductively in my ear.

What the ****?

"Stop being a pervert."

Avneet seemed to have overheard and she blushed.

"So Avneet, Bhavesh, let's play a game. Let's play charades."

"Aw cool! Let's start." Bubbly Avneet grabbed a seat next to Sidd.

Oh wow.

That's where I was supposed to sit.

I sat on the seat next to Bhavesh and we talked for a while.

Just then, I had an idea.

"Bhavesh can I talk to you for one sec?"

"Okay...."

We went out of the room and I wondered what I was going to say next.

"Well, I haven't known you for long but -"

"But what?"

"I'm explaining! Hang on - we need time to think and....."

"Okay but... everyone's going to think what we're doing."

"Bhavesh." I eyed him.

"Yes?"

"GOD YOU'RE SO INNOCENT." I sighed.

"Speak up kiddo - who ya callin innocent ay?"

"Flirt with me." I said bluntly, not even thinking twice.

"What the...." he looked me up and down and bent his eyebrows.

"I know you're thinking I'm weird, but I have a reason."

"Um... b..."

"Before you say 'but' again - let me explain."

I looked around to make sure we were hidden.

"Basically, Sidd's being really weird and although he hasn't admitted to me yet, I'm his girlfriend."

"Wow congrats!" He turned to go and I clutched his wrist.

"Waitttt. Listen to the whole story!"

"Okay okay... continue."

"And he's trying to make friends with Avneet."

As soon as I said her name, his face shot up and his mouth fell.

"W-w-what???? I mean - that's - that's a good thing but...."

"NO ITS NOT!"

"Alright don't cry." He looked suddenly very worried.

"So I want you to flirt with me. Understand why?"

He smirked and grabbed my waist tightly so we were centimeters away from each other's lips.

"I get it." He whispered in my ear in a goofy voice."

We went back in the room and I put on my best dramatic face. I saw Avneet and Sidd sitting next to each other, laughing and looking at pictures.

I scowled.

"Owww!" I cried dramatically, trying to get glimpses of Sidd's reaction but not getting caught in the process!

"Ow! God - that's so painful! Ouchhh!"

"What's the matter Reemu?"

Everyone in the room stopped playing at looked at me, bending down in fake pain.

"Arre? Reem? Kya hua?" Sumedh ran up to me and put a hand on my shoulder.

"Babes what's wrong?" Roshni offered a bite of her samosa.

I was constantly looking at Sidd, controlling my anger.

He was sat right where he was and just looked at me suspiciously. Avneet started worrying.

"Oh God Reem! If you've done something to your foot, how are we going to dance tomorrow at the sangeet?" She clicked her tongue and looked away in disappointment.

Sidd got up and bent down to sit next to me.

"Good plan, but it's not working." He whispered with a smile while everyone else was feeling anxious.

My mouth fell.

This guy has some real ego mate.

I got up and marched towards the door.

"Reem? You're walking fine now?!" Tunisha pointed out.

"I have a good mentality you see..." I taunted, scowling at Sidd who put his hands in his pockets and controlled his laughter.

Bhavesh looked uncomfortable and I dragged him out of the room.

"Woah. What was that?" Sumedh put up his hands at the sudden bang of the door like he had surrendered.

"Girls." Faisal said and made everyone laugh.

I went up to the window and felt the presence of someone behind me.

"Reem? Sad?" Bhavesh made a silly face which made me laugh.

"Why is he so rude Bhavesh? Please tell your friend something?!"

"Don't worry Reem, maybe he's just pulling your leg."

"Well.... I can't not worry because all this happened after Avneet and you came."

He gulped.

"Cheer up bruh - it's a wedding vibe around here and don't spoil your mood cuz of my friend."

He straightened his cap the right way round.

I gave him a smile and he clutched my hand while we went back to the hall where the decorations were being put up.

"Wow! Those yellow LEDs look awesome!"

I watched over the balcony where Sidd and Avneet were. I decided to join them for a good roasting session.

"Hmm, you suddenly seem so interested in dance Siddharth?" I smiled at him sarcastically.

"It's the influence after all." He winked and Avneet laughed. My mouth gaped open.

"Alright well, you will never be able to match Avneet's skills. She's amazing. You're just not suitable for her."

"Woah woah woah - chill bruh. You seem to be talking about marriage lol! We were just discussing about my dance show." Sidd smiled at me.

I flicked my hair in attitude and went off to Jannat.

I wondered what would happen at the Sangeet tomorrow.....
