December 8th

Jimin had carried the story of the God Agust about him with a heavy heart. He didn't know what to think about it. Preacher Jack had compared him to the God himself before he died.

Soft-spoken, gentle, quiet, close with nature. In some way he was the runt of the family too, right? With how pale they made him out to be, like sugar fresh from the mill, or snow against snow-- a white, crystalline, cold mass of beauty.

The murals that they had painted of him on the wall in the church, well Jimin had never seen it before simply because he never went to church. Now that he stood before it, he couldn't take his eyes off of it.

The God Agust,  was well, godly. He was beautiful, radiant, powerful and well, the way it was painted made it feel like his beautiful dark eyes look at him and only him.

Jimin didn't know where his heart was now, but it lied there in the hands of something greater.

Part of him could feel it.

Part of him knew it.

"Jimin!" Called a boy,  Kim Taehyung, a brown-haired boy with a brightness behind his dark eyes and a huge smile on his face.

"Oh," said Jimin, "Hello, Taehyung!"

Taehyung looked down at him, hair in his eyes. "I see you found the mural I painted. "

Jimins eyes lit up, "You painted this?" He asked. "It looks so real."

He gave Jimin a smile, "Thanks,  it took months, almost a year."

"Wow..." Jimin was shocked.  He'd never seen such frozen beauty before,  well, maybe snow being the exception.

"Have you seen him before?" Jimin asked.

Taehyung shook his head no, "This is just a mere interpretation based off of what the books say. You know, he used to be blonde like you, Jimin."

Jimin looked up at him, "Like me? Used to be?"

"You heard the story. His hair used to be blonde, like the sun was in it or something. Every time he prayed to the moon though, he didn't realize it but he was praying to darkness. By the time he died, his hair was pitch black."

Jimin raised his eyebrows, confused. "Isn't that what we do?"

"We aren't praying to the true form of darkness... we're praying to life and death. You know about the sacrifice, life for a life."

"An eye for an eye," Jimin finished.

Taehyung nodded, "An eye for an eye."

And together they looked up at their God in all his painted glory.
