I Really Like the Questions Ones, Okay?
AU
-Who is the most affectionate?
It's a tie. In public, it's definitely Gabriel. Sam doesn't want to make anyone uncomfortable with PDA or something, so the most he'll do is hold hands with Gabe or something, but Gabriel is very very different. He is full blown overly obvious in love with Sam when they're in public and he wants everyone else to know it too. He'll hold his hand, wrap his arms around the man, kiss him, braid his hair, just about anything to make sure the whole world knows that Sam is his moose and nobody can touch him. He is the living version of the heart eyes emoji with Sam.
In private, though, Gabriel is lucky if Sam stops being overly affectionate. What can I say? They are sick in love with each other, and they show it often.
-What's the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?
Little things. The day Sam realized he was completely in love with Gabriel was conveniently the same day Gabe called him ridiculous for having a hairbrush and proceeded to mess up Sam's hair, and then freaked out when Sam ran his fingers through it and made the moose's mane look flawless again. Sam threw out all his hairbrushes, and his fingers have been his only comb since. Gabriel sees it as an improvement.
The day after Gabriel realized he loved Sam was also the day Sam figured it out. They were standing in a lunch line, and you got the choice between an apple or a cherry pastry. Being the sweet tooth Gabe was, Sam knew exactly which one Gabriel would pick and he commented on how Gabriel really needed to take better care of himself and eat something healthy for once. And rather than bickering with Sam and taking the dessert anyways like he always did, Gabe took the apple. And he actually ate it. If that's not love, then Sam's not sure what is.
-Big spoon/little spoon?
Gabriel is the little spoon. It's not even a question or a 'we switch a lot' situation- he is ALWAYS the little spoon. It's partially because he's usually the protective one, and Sam likes the idea of being the protective one when they're sleeping, and it's partially because Gabriel is literally teddy bear sized so he has to be. He complains about it a lot, but Sam just rolls his eyes because Gabriel loses anytime he suggests that they should switch. Gabe has no clue how to be a big spoon.
-Most common argument?
Oof. As much as Sam and Gabriel love each other, they do argue a lot, only because they are both super thick and stubborn and know that they're right. Typically, their most common playful argument is whether Star Wars or Star Trek is better (that one will never end), and their most common serious argument is usually about the fights Gabriel gets in with Dean. Sam loves his boyfriend and his brother, and he wishes they could get along, but Gabe and Dean are similar enough that they clash horribly, and when they fight, things don't stay verbal for long. Gabriel is usually the one that starts it though, and that's what leads to the fights with Sam.
-Favorite non-sexual activity?
Water balloon fights. Snowball fights. Literally any type of fun fight where they can throw something that explodes at each other. It's the funniest thing in the world to them, and Sam is positive that they have spent thousands of dollars on water balloons over the years, and he doesn't regret a single cent. Snowball and water balloon fights with Gabriel are some of his favorite memories.
-What is their favorite feature of their partner's?
Gabriel's is by far Sam's hair, as if that was even a question. On their first date, the second question he asked Sam was if he could touch his hair. It's long and luxurious and soft and Gabriel could waste an entire day obsessing and running his fingers through it. Sam mentioned the idea of getting a haircut once, and Gabriel bawled like a baby. Sam's hair is precious to him, and he loves braiding it, styling it, tugging at it, and just watching. Watching Sam blow strands out of his face, tuck pieces of it behind his ear, watches as it bounces when Sam runs. And his bedhead? Well, that just murders Gabriel.
Sam's, on the other hand, is Gabriel's eyes. He's fascinated by their strange color, and he swears the color changes from time to time. He spends hours staring at them, and Gabriel doesn't mind. Sam just loves his eyes. He loves the way Gabriel looks at him, whether it's a caring and serious look, or a goofy and seductive gaze. Gabriel has a thousand words in his eyes, and Sam loves them so much.
-Who worries the most?
SAM. By Chuck, there is no way to describe the amount of worrying he does, especially when it comes to Gabriel. He's afraid that his boyfriend will get hurt, that something bad will happen to him, that Gabe will randomly leave him one day- the list goes on. He's gonna turn his hair gray with all his worrying, but thankfully, Gabriel knows how to sooth his concerns. Gabe is always there to reassure the moose, and that's why they make such a good pair.
-Who initiates kisses?
Gabriel. He just can't get enough of them. Their first kiss was initiated by Sam, but most of them since have been Gabriel's idea. And it's not just kisses on the lips, although those are Gabe's favorites because he definitely has a thing for Sam's lips. It's forehead kisses, nose kisses, kisses on the top of Sam's head or his temple or his cheek. Kisses trailing down his boyfriend's neck and light kisses on his collarbone. Heated kisses on the lips and light pecks on his hand. Hot kisses, sloppy kisses, bad breath kisses, 'I love you' kisses, 'I need you' kisses, and sugar coated kisses. Sam's positive at this point that there is not a millimeter from his neck up that has not been kissed by Gabriel. The man is obsessed with kisses.
-Who reaches for the other's hand first?
Sam. It's his instinct at this point to lunge for Gabriel's hand, whether it be when they're walking, or more commonly when he's scared. Holding Gabe's hand is calming to him in more ways then his boyfriend knows. Sam's just so used to people leaving that sometimes he grabs Gabriel's hand as a simple reminder that the man is still there. That Gabriel's not gonna leave him. It's a reassurance and a comfort, and Sam also just loves the way their hands fit together.
-Who kisses the hardest?
It depends on the situation. Gabriel is more prone to light and sweet kisses, but when he and Sam haven't seen each other in a while, he kisses hard and frantic. If something has gone wrong or they're mad at each other, Gabriel will kiss the hardest because he needs the reassurance. A firm kiss to remind himself and to remind Sam that they are here and they are in this together, no matter what.
Sam is similar. Usually he returns Gabriel's sweet kisses with harder ones because he's rougher around the edges. When he wants to, he kisses Gabriel like he's the last breath of air on Earth, and he can kiss his boyfriend in a way that makes Gabe's knees give out. He kisses hardest when he's jealous though. When they're out somewhere and a girl or guy starts eyeing Gabriel, sometimes even flirting with him. Sam tries not to be jealous or overprotective, but at the end of the day Gabriel is his boyfriend, so he'll kiss him harder, just to remind Gabe. Remind him that Gabriel is his and he is Gabe's. Gabriel melts at those too, and he smirks at the jealous kisses because there is no way he'd ever give up Sam for somebody else, and he kinda likes it when Sam is feeling protective.
-Who wakes up first?
Sam is the early bird by far. Anytime Gabriel has to wake up in the AM is not a good day for him, but Sam is up at the crack of dawn to do yoga on a hilltop as the sun rises or something. He's wide awake, has breakfast made and has gone through the entire New York Times newspaper by the time Gabriel is dragged kicking and screaming out of bed.
-Which one is always stubbing their toe and screaming about it?
Gabriel, 100%. Table legs and corners have a vendetta against his toes, and he literally screams when he stubs them, which is at least once a day. Sam is always there within a minute of the event with an ice pack and ready to deal with Gabriel's dramatics. Usually Gabe ends up lying on the floor like a dying Shakespeare character, clutching his foot and wailing at Sam to make it better. They've bubble-wrapped all the areas that Gabriel is most likely to stub his toe on, but that hasn't stopped the incidents from happening.
-Who crashed a car and made the other pick them up at 3am?
Gabriel. Driving is something he's never quite gotten a handle on, and he's crashed his car at least three times. It gives Sam a heart attack every time because the idea of Gabriel being hurt in a car accident is one of the worst things he can imagine, but he's always relieved when it's Gabe that calls him at 3am, and not a nurse at the hospital. He's happy to pick Gabriel up at 3am as long as his Trickster is okay.
-Which one likes to get up in the middle of the night and loudly make themselves a snack?
Gabriel. Sam has been woken up dozens upon dozens of times to the crashing and banging and swearing that goes along with Gabriel attempting to make himself a midnight snack, in the dark, of course, because Gabe always thinks it's the light that will wake Sam up, not the sound of breaking glass as he drops a jar of candy.
-Which one insists upon buying unheard-of health foods?
Sam. Gabriel doesn't even think half the stuff Sam brings home from the store is from the same country because of the foreign food labels, but he doesn't question it because he doesn't trust healthy food in the first place. Sam can go and eat his Kimchi, whatever that is, all he wants. Just don't force Gabriel to eat it and everything is fine.
-Who is always suggesting they get another pet?
Sam, guilty as charged. He's always wanted a dog, so it makes sense that he's always nagging Gabriel for one. But after they rescued a puppy from a shelter, Gabe thought that would be the end of it. He was wrong. He created a monster. They have five dogs now, and Sam is still begging him for a sixth, and it's taking all of Gabriel's willpower to say no. Sam just can't have enough dogs. HE NEEDS THEM.
-Who is more likely to start dancing with the other?
Gabriel, as our residential party animal, has forced Sam to dance with him more times and in more places than the moose will ever admit to. Whether it be a bar bathroom, a rooftop they definitely are NOT allowed on, or just their own living room, Gabriel will see a dance floor and a perfect opportunity. They're not big fans of slow dancing, though, because Sam thinks it's boring and Gabriel has more energy than a squirrel on cocaine. Honestly, if they were ever caught dancing together, Sam's not sure he would call it dancing. It's more like spontaneous moments of released insanity.
-Who cooks more/Who is better at cooking?
Oddly enough, it's a tie. Gabriel may make the most unhealthy foods imaginable, but he's a damn good baker. Sam preaches health foods nonstop, but even he can't resist when Gabriel makes cookies. The secret, he insists, is extra sugar. Sam, on the other hand, is the one who usually makes dinner. His secret, which will be taken to his graves, is the amount of vegetables he's snuck in without Gabriel knowing it.
-Who comes up with cheesy pick up lines?
I'll give you a hint. His name is spelt G-A-B-R-I-E-L. Sam has searched many, MANY times, but he has yet to find a pick up line book in Gabriel's vicinity, which means that somehow, Gabe is making them all up, and that's pretty impressive. They've been together for years, and Sam knows for a fact that Gabriel has never used the same pick up line twice. And don't think that the lines stopped after they started dating, oh no. If anything, he starting hearing twice as many. Sam's just accepted at this point that Gabriel knows every pick up line in existence, and then some.
-Who whispers inappropriate things in the other's ear during inappropriate times?
Gabriel, Gabriel, GABRIEL. Sometimes he doesn't even say a word- Sam will just glance over at him and he'll know. He can see the inappropriateness in Gabe's eyes- or worse, in his eyebrows. Gabriel's sexually suggestive eyebrows just aren't natural, and Sam can't handle it. But Gabriel takes pride in seeing just how uncomfortable he can make his moose in awkward situations. He'll start whispering innuendos to him at the WORST times, like when they're at a fancy place or eating with their parents, or hanging out with Dean and Cas. Gabriel's dirty mind knows no limits, and Sam's face has gone so red they're considering the color of it for a new stop sign.
-Who needs more assurance?
Both of them. Sam needs reassurance that Gabriel loves him and isn't going to leave him because, well, look at his track record when it comes to dating. Gabriel doesn't need reassurance as often as Sam, but when he needs it, it's BAD. Considering how quickly his family fell apart, sometimes Gabe gets afraid that his relationship with Sam could dissolve just as fast, so he is always terrified after they have a fight or a girl hits on Sam because he knows the moose could do better than him, no matter what Sam says. Thankfully, they both know exactly what the other one needs when it comes to reassurance, and it's stupid for them to worry, honestly. They're never gonna leave each other.
-What would be their theme song?
As if that's even a question. Heat of the Moment. At first it annoyed Sam when Gabriel would crank the volume and scream the lyrics, but now it's one of his favorite things. They've nearly crashed their car a few times while being distracted by singing and dancing along. Asia and Sabriel just go together. Heat of the Moment was the song they danced to at their wedding, and they spent the whole time tripping over each other's feet and laughing.
-What do they do when they're away from each other?
Gabriel mopes like a sad puppy. Full on sit at the window with sad music playing and stare longingly. He doesn't know what to do with himself and he gets bored very VERY quickly. He needs his moose for love and entertainment purposes. He hates it when they're apart, and when Sam returns, he tackles the poor man. Literally. Gabriel needs puppy level attention.
Sam, on the other hand, is perfectly fine when they're apart. If by perfect fine you mean he checks the mirror every few minutes to make sure his hair hasn't gone gray while worrying that Gabriel has done something. Crashed the car, burned down the house, robbed a candy store- every scenario the trickster could get into runs through Sam's head when they're apart, and he doesn't stop stressing about what he's gotten into until he's back home and can see for himself that Gabriel was a perfect little angel. And he'll admit it secretly and never tell, but yeah, he misses Gabe when they're apart.
