Afraid or Concerned?

This story will be updated on Tuesdays, and my other story, Seven, will be updated on Thursdays. Sorry this one is short.

There was an awkward silence, the air so tense you could almost taste it. Gabriel hadn't said a word, and Sam wouldn't look up from the ground. Eventually Dean made the first move, walking over with hot water and an old cloth. As Gabriel watched Dean tend to Sam's gash, he jumped up. It was like something snapped in him.

"We are never gonna be ok, the world is dying, we are dying.... Sam's dying."

Gabriel

Gabriel walked away quickly, walking to the tree line. He ignored Cas's calls, Dean telling him it wasn't safe, and Sam's tears. He walked, he ran, he disappeared. He didn't know here he was going, and he didn't care. These past years he had been alone, and right now he really missed it. He walked into the trees, not noticing the tears that fell down his red cheeks. It was getting dark, and cold. Gabriel kept walking, finding a tree with low hanging branches. He climbed up and sat a few branches up, trying to calm his breathing. He needed to calm down, he couldn't have an attack up here, not with anything to help him through it. He didn't have his inhaler, and he couldn't face the others right now, so Cas couldn't help.

Gabriel's labored breathing suddenly stops, his eyes widening as he looks underneath him. That couldn't... But it was, and Gabriel had never felt so panicked in his life.

Sam

Sam looked down, unable to meet anyone's eyes. Dean's would have sympathy he didn't want, and he knew Cas would be judging him with complete honesty. Sam could feel the tears falling down his face, he could feel the pain when one would fall into his wound, but couldn't bring himself to care. The pain wasn't anything compared to the turmoil that was rushing through his head, swirling and making him feel sick. Why did he think Gabriel would want to be his friend... To like him? He knew he had a stupid little crush, and it wanted to make him sick. Gabriel would never even consider liking him.

Sam knew it was only a matter of minutes before Dean and Cas would try talking to him. Cas would tell him what a complete idiot he was for not telling them sooner, or Dean would tell him that he shouldn't have jumped in front of Dean when they were attacking and gotten this wound.

"I'm sorry for Gabriel's behavior." Not expected. Sam looked up at Cas, only for a moment, and saw complete honesty. He glanced back down, not saying anything. Dean was about to speak before he was cut off by a figure running in a trying to put the fire out.

"Gabriel?"

Gabriel

Gabriel paused his attack on the fire looking over a Sam. He didn't say anything, instead looking over to Cas.

"The Angels are here." Cas immediately sprung up and helped Gabriel put out the fire.

"Gabriel. Cas!" Dean was confused, calling out their names and getting no response until Cas walked over and practically sat in his lap, putting a hand over his mouth.

"Shh..." And with that he walked away, leaving an oddly flustered Dean.

They all stayed quite, Gabriel and Cas working to pick up the camp. Dean reluctantly helped, still confused. Sam just sat there, unable to look in Gabriel's direction. Gabriel felt guilty, also unable to look at Sam. It was slightly awkward, but they got everything picked up and were about to leave when they heard Jano growl. Gabriel froze, aiming his gun and walking back to Jano. A figure walked out of the trees, smirking.

"I doubt that will do you much good, Gabriel." The man gestured to the area surrounding him, a few other men stepping out, clearly flanked with a large following. Gabriel still didn't lower his gun, glaring harshly.

"Raphael."
