'Just a Friend' part 2

Wow, 100 reads already!?!?! That's wild!! Thank you guys sooooo much!!! Alright, here's part two; let's see how this plays out, shall we?

PS Here come some Kanera!!!!

By the time Sabine got back to the Ghost, she had determined NEVER to go back into Lothal alley system. Ever. It had taken her 5 hours to get out and get back to the Ghost, and she was a disgusting mess from the several times she slipped. She couldn't wait to take a shower.

She walked on the Ghosts ramp, hoping no one would notice her. No such luck. Right there in front of her was a worried Hera, Kanan, and Zeb. Sabine sighed as Hera rushed up to her.

"Sabine, are you ok? Where have you been? What happened to you? Where's Ezra?" Sabine rolled her eyes at the last question.

She replied, "Long story short, I've been lost in Lothal alley systems, which explains my less than desirable state, and Ezra's off with his - " she barely refrained from saying 'girlfriend'. " - friend. Apparently he knew her from when he was a street rat. He may or may not be coming back tonight. I'm going to take a shower, bye." She brushed past a very confused Twi'Lek, a worried human, and a sighing Lasat. She climbed the ladder, and 5 minutes later was in the refresher.

Hera slowly turned to Kanan.

"Love, what just happened?" She asked quietly. Kanan sighed and nodded in the direction of the cockpit. She nodded back, and they moved to the cockpit. Hera sat in the pilots seat and Kanan the co-pilots.

Kanan began. "So now we know where the kid is."

"No, actually, we don't know where Ezra is." Hera replied, emphasizing that he wasn't just a 'kid' to her. "We just know that he is with some girl from his past possibly somewhere on this planet. I don't like how broad that is." Kanan nodded consent and rested his head on his hands and his elbows on the dashboard (thing).

Hera continued. "Sabine did say that he might not come back tonight? Whatever does that mean?" Kanan furrowed his eyebrows in concentration, even though they were covered by his mask. He 'gazed' out over the plane of Lothal through the glass, feeling for his padawan. When Hera figured out what he was doing, she leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes.

A few minutes later, Kanan spoke.

"I've got him, Hera." She sat up at the sound of her Jedi's voice. He continued.

"Right now, he's very happy and content. In fact, I don't think I've ever felt him quite as . . . " Kanan struggled to find the right word.

" . . . as relaxed as this before. He feels completely as ease." Hera detected a note of sadness in his voice and placed her hand on his shoulder. She knew Kanan had been trying and trying to get the teen to open up before, but he never had. Now, knowing that after just a few hours with a mystery girl none of them knew, Ezra was more open than ever, definitely gave Kanan a reason to be sad.

She spoke what she hoped were words of comfort. "Love, from what Sabine said, Ezra has known this girl for his whole life. She probably knows everything about him. They have no secrets between each other. Whereas with you, he knows nothing about your past life, and since he looks up to you SOOO much, he only wants to copy you by keeping his past all locked up as well. I've seen the way it affects you both though."

Hera romoved her hand from his shoulder and stood. She continued speaking softly.

"Maybe you could unlock some of your past to him, Caleb Dume." She kissed the disturbed jedi's forehead and walked out, door swishing quietly behind her.

"Are you sure its ok?" Ashton again whispered in Ezras ear.

"Of course I'm sure, how many times do I have to say so!" Ezra whispered back confidently. He then put his hands in his pockets so Ashton couldnt see them shaking.

'Maybe letting Ashton sleep in Sabines room is a bad idea,' he thought as the two tiptoed down the dark hall. He stopped outside her door, and Ashton peeked over his shoulder.

"Are you sure this is the one?" She asked doubtfully. "They all look the same to me." Ezra rolled his eyes.

"I've been on this ship for like 6 years Tonia, of course I know this is the one. Besides, its the only one with pink and purple on the lockpad."

Ashton glanced down, then grinned sheepishly.

"Oh, ok," she said. Ezra smiled at her and squeezed her hand, then closed his eyes. He used the force to open the door quietly.

"Ok," he said, terror of Sabine waking up making his voice squeek.

"See that top bunk?" Ashton squinted, and could just make out colorfull walls, a desk, and on the far wall, a bunk bed. She nodded.

"Well, that's your bed for tonight. Goodnight, and don't wake Sabine up and don't tell her I helped you!" Then Ezra bolted down the hall and into his shared room.

Ashton rolled her eyes and went in, shutting the door manualy behind her, before climbing in bed. She set her alarm that Ezra had given her to 4a.m., a time when hopefully, no one would be up. She wanted to be out before Sabine woke up.

Ashton yawned and pulled her blanket up. Not having slept in a bed for years, this felt really good. She thought about what was going to transpire in the next few few days. She fell asleep with a frown on her face.

I know its short, only 947 words, I'm sorry, it was either short or REALLY REALLY REALLY long and I didn't want to put you guys through that or make you wait until I had finished typing it to publish it so enough ranting. How did you like it? Was there too much Kanera? Not enough? Do I need to describes places better? Let me your thoughts on what I could do to make this even better. I really appreciate them!
So yeah, thanks soo much for reading this, I hope you enjoyed it, until next time, rebel!
