A Force of Love
"Well this has gone fantastic, as usual," Sabine yelled into her comm, running to the other side of an Imperial hanger, away from the lightsaber war. She jumped behind a crate as lasers flew by her head.
"Thanks for the update, Sabine," Hera said, trying to maneuver the Ghost to a landing platform above the hanger. Zeb shot down bucket heads so she could land safely.
Ezra deflected the Seventh Sisters blade, letting the lightsaber pass right over him instead of cutting him in half.
"Anytime Hera!" He huffed-yelled out. He pulled his lightsaber back and moved to attack but had to change it to a block yet again as the Seventh Sister attacked just a second faster. He shoved his blade against hers, groaning through his teeth, feeling his enemies dark presence. Her robotic face mask seemed to mock him.
"Ah, the padawan is tiring I see. Does my darling need a nap?" Blades still together, she reached a spindly finger toward his head and stroked his cheek.
"Rawr!" Ezra yelled, furious at her flirtation attempts, and pulled his blade back, force pushing the Seventh Sister at the same time. She flew through the air, landing against a crate, temporarily stunned. Ezra then ran over to Kanan, who was fighting the Fifth Brother. He watched for a moment, seeing Kanan begin to get the better of his opponent. Kanan blocked a blow, then knocked the lightsaber out of Fifth Brothers hand. Fifth Brother watched it soar away, leaving him weaponless. Fifth Brother then turned and ran.
Ezra nodded to Kanan and the two ran to the Ghost. They were on the ramp when they both felt something in the force. They slowly turned around, and though Kanan couldn't see, he heard Ezra's sharp intake of breath.
The Seventh Sister has woken up, and had found Sabine behind the crate. She now held a very nervous Sabine around the waist, a saber of red almost touching her neck. She pulled her mask back, revealing her alien yet beautiful face, now smiling smugly.
Hera, not knowing Sabine wasn't with Kanan and Ezra, lifted off.
"Hera!" Ezra screamed. Hera didn't hear him though. Ezra turned back to Sabine. He couldn't leave her behind! Not Sabine!
He began running, and was about to jump off, when he was suspended in midair. Kanan!
"Kanan let me go!" He screamed. He tried to escape but Kanan's force hold was too strong. He couldn't even turn his head. "Kanan!" He sobbed, watching the ground grow smaller every second. Once they were too far for Ezra to jump, Kanan let go, and Ezra fell to the ramp, unable to comprehend what had just happened. Ezra couldn't think, couldn't feel. His life; it was worthless without Sabine by his side. Ever since he met her, she had always been there, reasonable and steadfast, there to lend a helping hand. Now, she was in the hands of the Empire, and Force knows what they'll do to her.
In his fury, he slowly turned around to face Kanan. Kanan frowned, sensing the anger from his padawan. He held up a hand.
"Ezra, rem-"
"You MONSTER!" Ezra screamed. He slowly walked into the cargo hold, shutting the ramp behind him. Kanan didn't back up, knowing that would only give Ezra the upper hand. He tried to reason with the emotionally unstable teen.
"Ezra, please, just take a deep -"
"You stopped me," Ezra said, his face now inches from Kanan's. Kanan could feel his ragged breath on his cheeks, and froze.
"You stopped me from going after her Kanan," he continued, now in a whisper. "Why? Why did you stop me? That was Sabine. Not some random rebel we found off the street, Kanan. Sabine. And, because of you, she is in the hands of the Empire now."
Ezra searched his masters face for any signs of emotion. He even searched the force. But he felt nothing. Just emptiness. He glared at Kanan, anger welling up in from from the very depths of his heart.
"Kanan, I cant believe what you did today. And I can not let you continue to train me with what you just did." Ezra heard the sharp intake of breath from his now former master. He continued.
"I hate you. I HATE you. I HATE YOU!!" He screamed the last one at the top of his lungs. His eyes flickered red for just a moment, and in that moment, he was fully a part of the force.
Then he closed his eyes and ran up the ladder, force pulled a shocked Zeb out of their room, went in, and locked himself in.
Kanan, feeling Ezra build up a force wall, finally let his down. He fell to the floor, cupping his head in his hands, and sobbed. He cried over not letting Ezra go. He sobbed over what Ezra said. But most off all, he wept over the loss of his padawan, realizing he had finally made a mistake, that he could never completely undo.

"EZRA!" Sabine screamed, watching her love leave in the only way of escape.
"Haha, oh darling, he's not coming back for you. At least, not yet. Not until we make this place look presentable." The way she said presentable, Sabine knew they were going to be setting up a trap for when they returned. IF, they returned, she corrected herself. She knew Ezra would want to, but she also knew it would be ridiculously dumb of them to return.
Seventh Sister set her down on the ground, applying a set of handcuffs to her wrists. Sabine glared at her.
"You should really just let me go now. They're not dumb enough to fall for one of your stupid tricks and return for me." She tried not to let her own words sting herself.
Seventh Sister regarded her with a slightly amused expression. She began pacing in front of Sabine.
"Now, sweets, I know these rebel friends of yours." She stopped pacing to stoop down and hold Sabine's chin. "They love each other, a bit too much, and it will be their downfall." Sabine lowered her eyebrows. She jerked her head, then jerked it back, catching the very tip of Seventh Sister's finger in her teeth.
"Arg!" Seventh Sister yelled, slapping Sabine hard, forcing the girl to release her finger. Seventh Sister shook her injured hand. She then stretched out her uninjured hand and closed her eyes.
And Sabine then knew what real pain was. It was like nothing she had ever felt before. It was like a searing knife was shooting through her mind, cutting everything, always moving, never relenting. Sabine screamed in agony, and just when she was seeing stars, the knife ceased existence, and Sabine fell into blissful darkness.

Ezra sat meditating in his room. He had tried the sith holocron, nothing. The Jedi holocron, less than nothing. Romantic love seemed not to exist in either the dark side or the light side. So, Ezra was meditating in just the Force, hoping to find an answer there. He cast deep for hours, searching for what to do. Try as he might, answers eluded him. He opened his eyes, frustrated beyond belief. He squeezed his eyes against the tears.
"I will find you, Sabine. I promise."
***
Sabine knew she was in trouble as soon as she woke up. She had a headache, and she was surrounded by gray walls; always a bad thing. Walls should have color on them. Grey walls meant Imperial walls, which means she was imprisoned. She then remembered everything that had happened.
She crouched in fetal position on the floor. Unconsciously, she relived every moment of her mental torture. Silent tears leaked out of her eyes. Again she felt the knife, bringing pain so unimaginable. She didn't realize it, but she began calling out to Ezra.
"Ezra," she whispered. "Please, help me....."
***
Ezra was suddenly interrupted by a disturbance in the Force. Eagerly, he reached out to it. Within minutes, he came across Sabine. He felt the pain she was feeling, the knife that was tearing her apart. It ripped his heart in two.
Suddenly he felt such a love, such a longing for the girl he had always had a crush on. He felt a need for her, a need to rescue her. He reached out to her through the Force, calling to her, willing her to be transported through time and space and to suddenly be with him. He searched deeply for her force signature, trying to become one with it. Unknowingly, his arms began lifting up, and, with fingers apart, began pulling his hands toward him in a circular movement, over and over again, searching, digging, loving.
***
Sabine sniffed. She knew it was the end for her. Seventh Sister would come in any minute to finish her off. She would cease to exist. All was going to be over.
Then she heard something. It sounded peculiarly like whirring metal, very faintly. She cocked her head, intrigued at what the noise was. It seemed to be coming from one of the boring walls. She slowly stood and walked over to it. She crouched down, and too her shock, the wall appeared to be moving. She jumped back, terrified of what it might be. She started calling out to Ezra even more now.
"Ezra, my wall in moving, please help me Ezra,"
Then more of the wall began moving. And the more she called to Ezra, the more the wall seemed to move. It had turned into a sort of whirlwind, not very loud, but moving extremely fast. Sabine has no idea what to do.
"Ezra, a little HELP HERE!" And then of course that's when she heard footsteps coming down the hall. She looked at the door, and then the whirling wall, which was suddenly calling to her, like it wanted her. She felt like she should go in the whirl...
But that was crazy! Go in a wall?! But the footsteps were coming closer. Any second now the door would open, and seconds later, her head would be rolling on the ground. It was either mystery wall or imminent death.
The footsteps stopped outside her door.
The wall was calling to her even more.
The owner of the footsteps began punching in the passcode.
And her choice became a no-brainer. She stepped forward, and was sucked into the wall.
The door flung open, and the Seventh Sister walked in, lightsaber lit, ready to finish her enemy. But she was nowhere in sight. For a moment, there was a faint odd metallic whirring noise. But then it was gone. And so was Sabine.

Ezra squeezed his eyes in determination. He had no clue what was happening, but he knew it was something, and that's all that was important. He pulled hard on something, using the Force to suck it towards him. Beads of perspiration broke out on his head, but he didn't even notice.
Sounds of a whipping wind was all the teen could hear. The power surging through him was taking everything he had. All he could think of was the Force and his love for Sabine. His chest began constricting; he felt like he was being flattened like a space waffle. The noise of the wind grew louder, until it was all he could hear. He was out of breath, and felt like he was out of life. He gave one last massive heave, and then let go of everything.
He collapsed on the floor, panting, ears ringing with the sudden silence, tears falling in hopelessness.
"I failed you Sabine....I'm so sorry...I love you..."
"Oh, I love you too Ezra!" Suddenly arms wrapped around Ezra's neck, and with a sudden burst of energy, he jumped up, flinging the arms off him.
"Who are you?!" He yelled, petrified. He looked at the person, and shock caused him to fall to his knees.
For there was Sabine, in all her beauty, standing in front of him, smiling through her tears.
"Sabine?" Ezra croaked out. He reached out a hand, and Sabine grabbed it, pulling him up. He held her at arms length away, not believing his eyes.
"But, how, you were captured, gone, a, and I .."
"Shh," Sabine placed a finger over his mouth, silencing him. "I'm here, right now, and that's all that matters." She couldn't stop herself. She practically jumped forward, into his arms, hugging him like they would never see each other again. Ezra hugged back, fiercer than he ever had.
"I love you Sabine."
"And I love you Ezra."

But there was still several messes to clean up. One was with Kanan.
Ezra pulled back from Sabine, suddenly remembering the vile words he has spoken. He face went ashen, realizing he had no master.
"What have I done..." he whispered. Sabine looked at him concerned.
"Ezra? What's wrong? Your deathly pale!" Ezra looked at her.
"Sabine, I love you, and I'm glad your back, so glad, but I have to find Kanan!" Sabine still looked worried but she nodded her head.
"Ok," she said. Ezra thought for a moment longer, then nodded. He kissed Sabine's cheek and ran out the door.
He found Kanan in the cockpit with Hera. As soon as he opened the door Hera turned, and when she saw who it was, she glared at him.
"Ezra Bridger you will get out of this cockpit right now or I will throw you out myself!" Kanan didn't need to turn around to know who was at the door.
Ezra pleaded with Hera.
"Please, Hera," He rasped. " I have to talk to Kanan. I-"
"Oh, you already did talk to Kanan, and with what you said, I won't ever be letting you talk to him again!" Hera is terrifying when she is mad. Ezra gulped.
"Let him in Hera. And please leave." A soft voice came from where the Jedi Knight sat. The two turned to him, shocked. He turned to Hera.
"Let him in." He repeated. Slowly, mouth slightly agape, she got up, and walked out the door, shutting it behind her. Ezra tiptoed to the pilots seat and sat. He didn't say anything for a minute, and neither did Kanan. It was as awkward as awkward can get.
Finally, Ezra spoke.
"Kanan, please don't interrupt me until I'm done. I have a lot to say, and I'll forget it if you interrupt me." He took a deep breath, and then, he did what he never did; he let down his wall. He never let down his mental guards while talking to anyone. But, this time was different. Ezra wanted Kanan to feel what he felt. He continued.
"Kanan, what I said, everything I said, I was all wrong. Your not a monster, and I can't believe I said that. I was angry, hurt, in a bad mental state. I didn't know what was going on, and you happened to be the most unlucky person in the galaxy at that time to be the closest person to me. I was mad, and I needed to let my anger out. So, I let it out on you. But it was wrong of me. I know it was. I, said some horrific things, that I shouldn't even be thinking about. I'm so, so sorry, Kanan."
Ezra let his tears run free as he looked at the stars.
"I thought about asking you to forgive me, but I can't. I just can't ask you to do something so unfathomable as that. It would be impossible. So I'm not going to ask you to forgive me."
He sucked it a breath.
"I won't ask you to become my master again either. I've failed you, not only today, but throughout our entire master-padawanship. I'm not fit to be a padawan; I'm not fit to be a Jedi."
Ezra threw his face into his hands and cried. He couldn't be a Jedi; not with all his mistakes. There was no way. Kanan would never-
"Ezra."
Ezra flung his head up. Kanan was talking?
"Ezra, look at me."
"No," he whispered. "I can't."
"Ezra Bridger, look at me right now."
Ezra closed his eyes and turned to his master.
"Open your eyes, Ezra."
Ezra peeked his eyes open. Kanan was leaning forward in his chair, elbows on his knees. He had taken his mask off, exposing his blind eyes. Another reminder of Ezra's failures.
Kanan spoke.
"Ezra, I agree with you, what you said to me was wrong. Those words should never have left your head. But I disagree on something else you said." He stood, and Ezra followed, not trying to hold his emotions back. Kanan took a breath, and put his hand on Ezra, shocking the teen. He bore his blind eyes into Ezra's wide ones.
"Ezra," he began. "You are still only a boy. Your not perfect. Sometimes, the stress gets to you; I get it. I was once in your position."
"What are you saying Kanan?" Ezra whispered.
"I forgive you, padawan." Ezra broke down. He felt to the cockpit floor, crying, laughing, thanking Kanan. He had so many emotions going through him; there aren't enough words in the dictionary to describe them. Kanan knelt and hugged him, and it was then Ezra knew it wasn't a dream. He hugged his master back, so grateful to him for giving him this second chance.
***
"... and we hugged, and then I remembered Kanan, and we talked, and now the six of us are here." Ezra finished explaining everything to the gobsmacked crew. They kept looking at Sabine like she was a ghost or something. But eventually, they accepted it was her, and hugged her and pated her on the back, welcoming her back.
But Ezra had one question.
"Kanan, what happened? I've never, ever heard of this happening before. What did I just do?" Kanan rubbed his chin, thinking. Honestly, he didn't know that could happen, but he had a theory as to why it did. He said his theory now.
"Ezra, in the past, Jedi weren't allowed to have attachments. You do know that?" Ezra nodded, wondering where this was going. Kanan went on.
"I think, this is only a theory, not fact remember, but I think that your love for Sabine, and hers for you, made a Force vortex, bringing her to you." Everyone stared at Kanan in silence. Ezra thought it over, and realized it could be true.
"The Jedi never experimented with love, because it was forbidden. There's no way they could have known this existed." Master and padawan looked at each other. They spoke at the same time.
"Maybe there's more to to Force than we've ever known."
3097 words. I'm going to leave you with that. The longest chapter I've ever written. Hope you enjoyed :)
