Ezra, Sabine, and Bridger are on a mission to stop the Fighting Star Killer, a powerful weapon the Empire plans to use against the Rebel base. Darth Sidious wants to crush the Rebellion by ending their stronghold. Ezra defends himself against StarKiller while Sabine leaps in to assist, attempting to attack with her lightsaber. But StarKiller fights back, almost overpowering Sabine with a force choke. Ezra steps in just in time to save her, and together they continue battling StarKiller. Boba Fett swoops in to aid Ezra and Sabine, using an electric staff against StarKiller to defend the young couple. However, StarKiller retaliates, severing Boba Fett's right arm and knocking him aside. Undeterred, Boba Fett continues to engage StarKiller in battle. Meanwhile, Ezra rises up and reengages with StarKiller, leading to an intense lightsaber duel between the two.

Ezra, seeing the danger to Sabine, taps into the dark side to protect his wife from StarKiller, ultimately defeating him with a series of lethal strikes. As StarKiller falls, Ezra's eyes transform, exhibiting shades of red, yellow, and golden hues. However, upon realizing what he's done, Ezra snaps out of the dark side's influence, returning to the light. But in the aftermath, he finds Sabine unconscious.

Ezra tends to Sabine's severe wounds, comforting her as she wakes up, noticing his altered eyes. Reassuring her, Ezra promises safety and suggests heading to the Ghost ship. Fortunately, Kaelin arrives, rescuing the couple and taking them to the medbay. Upon seeing her injured mother, Mira Randbridge, their young daughter, feels distressed. Ezra consoles Mira, holding her close, and assures her that her mother will be alright.
