Lucy's Pov

I opened my eyes again to see everyone who was placed into another dimension slowly appear, one by one. The people were confused at first, probably thinking about what just happened and went back to what they were doing previously before the battle started.

" Now, we can finally take a break! " Minerva exclaimed, throwing her arms in the air, " We had a long day~ "

" Yep, we deserve a good break. Let's head back to the guild, shall we? " I said, looking over my shoulder, waiting for their response.

" Yeah! " They shouted in unison, pumping a fist up into the air. Except for Sting who ignored my question and started walking away from us, without saying anything, bangs covering his eyes.

" Sting? Where are you going?  "

" Hey baka! Wait for us! "

" What's going on?? "

What's wrong with him... he have been acting like that after the battle with Eva Eucliffe...
I'm really worried...

I kicked the guild doors open, causing the door to fly back. Grabbing the attention of the guild, " Welcome back minna! "

" We're home, " I said, not paying much attention to their compliments and praises for defeating Eva Eucliffe. I was busying scanning the guild hall, looking for the blonde headed dragon slayer, " Now, have anyone seen Sting? "

They all looked at me with a confused face and some shook their head.

Ugh! Where did you go, you baka!

I dashed out of the guild, ignoring my guildmates who were calling out for me. I ran to the nearby forest and to a specific place in forest. The place where we had our first job together. I stopped when I see the emerald like waterfall.

He must be here.

I was about to leave and search further into the forest until I heard soft sobs coming behind a tree near the waterfall, causing me to stop on my tracks and walk towards the direction of the sound. To stop dead on my tracks when I see Sting crying whilst hugging his knees.

" S-Sting? " I mumbled, unable to take another step forward, " what's wrong? "

" G-Go a-a-away. "

" Please... tell me. What's wrong... " I took a few steps forward and kneel down beside him. " I want to- "

" G-Go away, Lucy! You don't understand! You've helped me so many times and yet! " He stopped talking and looked down, clenching his fist as a shadow cast over his eyes as tears threatens to find it's way out, " I... couldn't even protect you... " I fell back taken aback by his sudden outburst.

" You don't have to protect me... I can protect my-" I begin, finally getting back on my feet but was cut off again.

" No, Lucy! You don't understand! I love you and I don't want to lose you! What if you failed to protect yourself and die right before my eyes?! W-What if I l-lose you one day... What if... what if... " He drifted off, tears streaming down his face.

Before he could say anything else, I quickly launched myself into him, wrapping my arms around him and holding on tight.

At first he remained stiff, through shock and anger, but then he squeezed me back, pulling me even closer, tighter, until I was buried against his neck made butterflies in my stomach. Butterflies.

I lift my head up to look at him, sobbing, " Y-You b-baka! I-I would never l-leave you, s-so don't y-you worry anymore... "

" I'm sorry, Luce. " He mumbled, looking down at my lips and he leans in as his lips touches mine. I kissed back, moving my lips in sync with his as he pulled me closer, tighter, depending our kiss, as though starving, yet taking the time to savor each and every second.

After what seems like forever, we finally parted. Locking eye contact as he whispered something in my right ear, his hot breath against my skin, sending a shot of cool adrenaline swept through my system and butterflies in my stomach.

" I love you, Lucy. "
