Time skipping

Hello. You good now?

Just a coughing fit Sabanthia, I'm fine.

If you say so. Don't come down with a cold, It'll be annoying.

Yeah yeah, continue please.

"That's about it," Merlin said, shrugging. "Basic run down on all the base magic types. There are a few hidden ones, but they aren't ever really in contact with us."

"So, we just have to wait?" Exodus asked incredulously.

Ms. Merlin shrugged. "Not much we can do. We don't know why Sabanthia was chosen, so there's little we can do. I'll be talking to each of your parents, so don't worry about that. I would suggest some sort of hand to hand combat training. Sabanthia, as Chihre about it, and ask about Impulse control."

Merlin glanced at a watch on her wrist that hadn't been there a moment ago. "Mom, we have to go. Dad'll be back from work in a bit."

Ms. Merlin nodded. "Thanks dear." She nodded to my mom. "I'll talk to the other adults tomorrow, so don't worry about that."

My mom nodded. The two Merlins got up, nodded to us and left.

Went through the door?

Duh. What did you think, they jumped out a window? They're wizards, not ninja.

Right, sorry.

Also, there was nowhere enough magic in the air for them to do a portal. So, yes. door.

Right, right, you can continue now.

"Alright, why don't you guys see if you can have a sleepover. As your parents," my mom told Exodus and Raven. "And here, if they don't mind. I'll make sure you go to sleep at a reasonable hour, and are up in time for school."

Exodus and Raven nodded, leaving as well.

"What's impulse control?" I asked as soon as they disappeared.

"Your 'friend' takes control. It takes a lot of practice. I know Chihre's a first timer, so you'll both need more practice then someone who has a more experienced companion," Mom said, smiling gently at me. "Come on, we've got dinner to prepare. Your father started it before he left, and it should be almost done."

"He going to make it home in time for dinner?" I wondered. He wasn't home in time for dinner very much, his work required rather long hours, but we didn't mind. If he could, he started dinner before he left, which led to a lot of crockpot meals.

"No, sorry sweetie. He did say he'd be home in time to see you before you went to bed, if there wasn't any traffic."

I smiled. "Alright."

Yep, Exodus and Raven came back, had dinner, etc, bed, Dad did end up coming back to at least say hi as I was going to bed, but nothing else.

And school in the morning?

Hydroxa, nothing happened for the next two months.

Hn. Well, where ever you decide stuff is actually interesting again, begin.

Fall break. Exodus's birthday.

"Your birthday's tomorrow," I noted casually to Exodus, who was walking next to me.

"Yeah, and the first day of Fall break too. So, you coming?"

I nodded. "Of course! Aren't your cousins coming too?"

"They don't live that far away from us," Raven offered. "An hour with heavy traffic at most."

"They haven't gone before," I argued.

"Cause they had school. Our schools are on different schedules. Luckily, this time, they got out before us, so they can come. Eclipse is coming too."

"Cool, you'll have to introduce us," I said, grinning at him.

Wait, is your hair completely pink yet?

No, it'll turn completely pink sometime during the party. I just noted it was fully pink after the birthday party.

Alright, just asking.

"Alright," Exodus agreed. "Middy and Day first, than Eclipse."

"Your hair is like, reddish," Raven said, absentmindedly.

"And your hands are almost clear," Exodus retorted.

Raven nodded, glancing at her gloved hands. Her mom had insisted she start wearing gloves after Raven's hands were four shades lighter than her skin tone. The principal had been informed that Exodus's hair color change was not intentional, so he fell under the same weird category that I did.

Sometimes I wonder what would happen if I transferred to a different school.

I can't imagine they'll be too happy about your pink hair.

I think, if they insisted I take the dye out of my hair, I'd ask them if they want me to dye my hair a normal color, or just leave it how it is.

They'd probably throw a fit over your eyes too.

I suppose hot pink irises do make most school dress codes have a fit.

Yeah. Well, at least Exodus wouldn't have to deal with that if he moved schools.

Well, the tips are significantly lighter then the rest of his hair, so that might be a minor problem, but hey. They'd have more problems with his eyes.

Continue.

At Exodus's birthday party.

I was, of course, there for all the setup. I mostly helped in the kitchen, but I did a little of the decorating.

Someone knocked on the door, and Exodus opened it, only to be tackled to the floor by a red head. A second red-head walked in the door at a much more sedate pace, dark navy blue eyes scanning the house.

"Nice to see you too Daylight," Exodus grunted. "Can you get off me now?"

Day popped up, brushing the front of her yellow knee-length dress off. Her navy leggings and light yellow boots were the opposite of her sister's outfit of a navy dress and boots and light yellow leggings. "Sorry Exodus!" She chirped. "When'd you dye your hair red?"

A girl with dirty blond hair entered as well, followed by two people who I assumed was Day's mother and father. Both had the same brown hair, around the same color Exodus's hair had been prior my accidental awakening of his dormant genes.

"I didn't," he replied, picking himself off the floor and dusting himself off. "Middy, Day, Eclipse, this is Raven and Sabanthia, they're my friends."

Middy nodded cooly at us, moving to talk to my mom. Day bounded right up, sticking her hand out to shake. "I'm Daylight! But you can call me Day. That's my sister Middy, and that's my friend Eclipse!"

I shook her hand, and she moved to Raven. "How come we haven't seen you before? I mean, we've heard plenty about you from Exodus, but never met you."

"You guys had school on all his birthdays," I deadpanned. "That makes it a little difficult."

*Sneezes*

HA! You are coming down with a cold!

Maybe a little bit, I have a headache too.

If you start coughing blood, we're going and finding Merlin. Or Tsunade.

Thanks for your concern, but I'm fine. Just a bit of a cold, like you said.

If you say so.
