23. What are Oberois for?

             Kuch ghante pehle.....

Rudra's POV:

As soon as I reached Somu's house, I saw her walking around impatiently in the hall way. Before I could call her, she saw me and there was a sudden relief on her face.

“Rudra" She ran to me “Thanks for coming"

“Tell me what happened" I urged, making my way to the sofa.

“Bhavya...” She stuttered following me, worry creasing her face.

“Don't make it as daily soaps" I rubbed my temple, shuffling on the sofa.

“Bhavya ran away from her house"

“Whatt?!” I almost jumped out of my place.

“Shhh... she is sleeping inside.” Somu said pressing a finger on to her lips “Stay quiet"

“But why?” I couldn't keep silent. This time Somu pressed her palm on my mouth, frowning “She will wake up Rudra. After a lot of struggle, she finally slept"

“Sorry" I mumbled under her palm. Her hand was warm and soft providing me comfort in this Cold weather. Rudra! Concentrate.

“You knew her step mom, right?” She spoke, keeping her gaze low.

“Yeah!” Her step mother totally behaves as a bitch to her.

“After her dad's death, the whole property is named after Bhavya" She met my gaze. Her eyes showcasing her pain for her. Somu is a type of friend for anyone lucky enough to have. No one could ever understand Bhavya as much as she did.

“Then what?”

“Now she wants the property and..." Somu's jaw was already clenched in anger. If she had given a chance, she would had killed her by now. I nodded so that she could continue.

“And for the property, she wants Bhavya to marry her brother, who’s gonna celebrate his 50th birthday soon"

“What the fuck?” My fingers were curled into fists hearing her last sentence. That lady had been cruel to Bhavya since her childhood but this was her ugliest move. “She will meet her death in my hands" I was about to stand up, but Somu pulled me on to my seat.

“Please!” She begged, “Listen to me"
I glanced at her and she was almost on the verge of crying.

“She tortured Bhavya a lot to make her agree.” Suddenly realization sunk in. She had been absent for classes since a few days and never picked up a call from us, not even Somu's.

“Ohh god!! What am I hearing" I placed my head on my palms in a hope that this was a dream. How could a mother like woman treat her daughter like this? She could atleast treat her as a human. “Why is she staying there all these days? I asked her, anger burning my veins.

“Do you think I haven't begged her to come with me?” Somu's voice helpless.

“Then why didn’t she come?” I wondered.

“That home.” She paused taking a deep breath “It was her mom's. She lived all her life there till her last breath. And Bhavya loves it" I looked at her sadly, her eyes gleaming with tears. “She can never leave that place. It had a piece of her mother's soul" She rubbed away her tears.

“That lady against Bhavya's wish fixed a date for their marriage and she had no other way except for escaping from that hell"

“And she came running to you" She nodded. “When is her marriage?”
“3 days later" She huffed.

“Can I see her once?” I stood up before she could answer and turned when I saw Bhavya there standing weakly, tears running down her cheeks.

“Rudra-" She ran to me in a second and hugged me tightly wrapping her hands around my waist. I hugged her back tightly, resting my chin on her head.

“Stop crying" I hushed her “No one can harm you" But she wasn't in a position to calm down. It was the pain she had supressed in all these years. I allowed her to take her time.

“I am here. That bitch has to walk through me to reach you" I softly murmured in her ear and somehow it comforted her. She peered at me, wiping her tears.

“I don't want to marry him” It was barely a whisper.

“You will not" I smiled “Itne sare muscles kis liye hain" Her lips twitched up into a faint smile. Somu made her drink some water.

“We have to stop them from finding her.” Somu said.

“But this will be the place where they come searching for, in the first place" I announced. It's obvious because everyone knew they were besties.
Both of the nodded disappointingly.

“Then?” Somu asked, worried. “Do you have any idea?”

“What is the use of the title ‘The Great Oberois’?” I made my decision.

Anika's POV:

“Khanna! Make sure the security is up to the point. One hitch, I ll fire you" Shivaay warned our security head for tomorrow.

It's the first day of Navratri. The O’bros would do the Mahaarti every evening in these ten days. We were all trying to make this already beautiful mansion more beautiful. Om was after all working hard for this. He and the event organiser bought home some wonderful things.

I gazed around. It was all filled with lights.

There was big chandelier in the centre of the ceiling, illuminating the whole area. Around it were hanging lamps of different colours, spreading across the empty ceiling. The lights danced, each colour slowly fading into each other. Their glow, their shine everything was beautiful about them.

Every pillar surrounding me was decorated with flowers, their specific fragrances filling my heart with sheer happiness.

I was making rangoli when I heard Shivaay's voice. He was instructing the whole security team. Because there would be hundreds of guests coming, especially the last three days.

Dismissing everyone to their works, he turned around taking in the beauty in front of him, a satisfied look appearing on his face. His blue orbs lit up more brightly than usual.

“Om, these lights are so pretty" Shivaay smiled, patting his  brother's shoulder.

“It was her choice" Om said expression less. I had never seen him like this ever since I came. He had been the same  since morning.

“Oh! Seems like a worthy girl" Shivaay walked into kitchen, checking  his phone casually. But my eyes were glued on Omkara. His face was suddenly scrunched up and his gaze was fixed far away as if he had been trying hard not to remember some thing very bitter.

I hadn't understood this long haired man till now. He had been the most caring and sensible guy of the three. But at times, he appeared as if he was a total different person whom no one knew. He would sleep late, almost early mornings, standing in the balcony having this same expression he had now.

“Hey" a sweet voice brought me back to the present. I turned back to see a cute yet pretty girl behind me. She wore a pink and green salwar which made her curves look more attractive. She was beautiful especially her eyes, dramatically winged up by eye liner.

“Sorry, I didn't recognise you" I said hesitantly.

A/N: Hey guys,
As I said I would be early this time. Not so early I know, but atleast on time. This part had a little bit revelation of last chapter's  suspense.

Thank you so much for all the love you are giving me. Its 2.5k votes. I am blessed.

So, what do you think Rudra will do now? It was so cruel of her step mother, wasn't it?

What happened suddenly to Omkara? What is haunting him?

I am sorry, this chapter had no Shivika scene but I promise in the next one.

Who is the girl? A new entry? If yes, whom do you think it is?

Keep guessing the answers. Write to me what you feel. And stay tuned coz I will be back soon.

Yours
Trushnamallipudi ❤
