THE VAMPIRE DIARIES

Howling.

The new vampire had hurriedly creeped her way into the old Fell's church tomb. She had just gotten a call from Alaric about Klaus' genius plan and Damon's to counter it.

She stood behind Damon and rolled her eyes, questioning, "Really, Damon? You couldn't have done something with Matt instead of knocking him out?" Her arms crossed over her chest as he groaned and turned to face her. Anastasiya wouldn't admit it out loud, but even the smallest cut on Human Matt's forehead had made her want to drink him dry. She had taken a moment to herself to push her fangs away before initiating conversation with Damon.

Damon's face held a smirk as he announced, "Well, look who's original boyfriend got her a daylight-" he scanned her body, looking from her fingers to her neck, and ears, then down at her ankle with raised brows, "anklet. That's new."

"Yeah?" She smiled sarcastically, walking foreword. Bluntly, she continued, "Let's just help Tyler and Caroline."

~

Anastasiya leaned back on the curvy tomb wall as Damon went to move the large slab of cement and cobble. She watched as he put his hands on it and then froze. The vampire turned around to her with a glare. Emerald eyes widened as the platinum blonde wondered if he had some way of telling that she was checking him out.

"Are you just gonna stand there?" He complained and nodded toward her, watching as she leaned off the wall quickly. The young vampire apologized and the two opened the stone door quickly, walking leisurely in.

"No one is dying today," Anastasiya announced, pushing her hands up as a little victory celebration. The playful smile on her lips causing Damon to roll his eyes and look foreword at the captured. Anastasiya could smell the supernatural blood around her. All blood, no matter what someone was, smelled metallic, but vampire blood wasn't mouth watering like human blood. Vampire blood, although technically mixed blood from whatever the vampire drank, had a strange element added as it coursed through vampire veins. Werewolf blood, like that of Tyler's, Anastasiya, just by the smell, had imagined it to taste poisonous, untouchable.

"Damon?" Caroline questioned as she and Tyler stared between the two vampires. "Anastasiya?"

Damon walked over to Caroline while informing her in annoyance, "Your boyfriend's outside with a rifle loaded with wooden bullets." He paused in front of her, looking straight into her eyes intimidatingly. "You have some explaining to do."

"Wha- Matt?" she questioned, looking him up and down quickly.

"Matt knows about you?" Tyler asked, leaning forward into the conversation as much as he could. The chains clanked as he reached the end of them.

"No, I..."

Damon broke one of Caroline's chains as he interrupted, "Shh. Tomorrow's problem."

Anastasiya reached for one of the chains attached to Tyler, who furrowed his brows. "You're not gonna be able to-" he stopped when she ripped the chain from the wall, giving him a knowing look. "You're a vampire, too? Caroline!" Tyler gave an accusing look toward the mentioned blonde, who he assumed hadn't told him. To say Tyler felt betrayed was an understatement, he'd felt used. Caroline said she'd told him everything while he truly did.

"What?" she raised her arms, that had just been unchained by Damon, and exclaimed, "I didn't know either!" Tyler stood as Anastasiya broke the other chain, the four dusting off their clothing.

"We'll explain everything later. Now, can we get out of here?" Damon rushed, rolling his eyes at the teen drama. Suddenly, he looked over at Tyler. Damon sighed, "It's getting dark soon... How fast can you get the hell away from here?"

Tyler gave a blank stare, explaining, "I need to get to my family's cellar. I can lock myself up."

"I'll help," Caroline said meekly, standing a little behind Damon to the right. Everyone exited the tomb as fast as possible, hating the dreadful place. Caroline, spotting Matt, ran over to him and screamed, "Hey, Matt!" She gave her boyfriend a once over, glaring over at Damon. "Did you hit him?!"

Damon rolled his eyes, rhetorically asking, "Did you already forget about the part with the gun and the wooden bullets?"

"Has she always been this loud?" Anastasiya quizzed, crossing her arms and earning her own glare from Caroline. Damon smirked over at her and nodded. Tyler growled beside them, holding his chest, glancing up at the moon.

"Tyler?" Anastasiya questioned, watching his face contort with pain.

"It's starting," he groaned out, looking over at her.

Damon commanded, "Grab boy wonder and let's go."

Leaves crunching under their feet, the group made their way through the forest. The smell of sap made its way to Anastasiya's nose as she looked wearily back at groaning Tyler. Everyone glanced, but Matt was the one to voice concern.

"What's happening? Is he okay?" the blond questioned, his eyes darting from one vampire to the others.

"He better not wolf out on us," Damon complains, looking from the werewolf to Matt. A pale hand hit the Salvatore's shoulder, causing him to glare at the owner. Anastasiya gave a scolding glance at him, pointing her eyes at the worried Matt. A ring of his phone made the vampire stop the conversation.

"Bad time, little bro." Emerald green eyes rolled and then focused on Tyler, who's face contorted in pain.

"Ty?" she slowed her pace, walking beside the werewolf in transition. "You'll be alright." A caring hand was placed on his shoulder as he mustered up an appreciative smile. Anastasiya tuned into the end of Damon's conversation with his brother, rubbing the soothing hand over Tyler's shoulder. Knowing the news of Elena having been captured by Klaus made Anastasiya enraged, but she pushed it away in order to care for Tyler. The werewolf doubled over himself, falling to the ground in agony as his leg bones crack.

"Tyler!" Matt practically shrieked, sounding more like Caroline than himself. Bones broke as the Lockwood's body contorted in inhuman ways, the group cringing at the sound and image.

Fighting off his true nature, Tyler informed through gritted teeth, "I don't know if I can hold it off. Get out of here." He knew, inevitably, that holding it back could pain him more, and he couldn't take any more. Feeling the pit in his stomach, feeling how wrong it was to hold his wolf side back, Tyler panted heavily.

"Tyler, it'll be okay," Caroline reassured, walking to crouch beside him.

She's startled back when Tyler demanded ferociously, "Go!"

"You've got time. We're almost there, just-"

Tyler interrupted Caroline, "It's happening faster." The sickening crack of bones sounded out through the empty forest once again, everyone feeling Tyler's pain just by hearing it.

"Tyler, it's okay," the Forbes girl soothed.

An agonized scream left Tyler's mouth, his body once again breaking and healing. Looking up, his eyes gleam yellow at the four who step back, watching as Tyler's breathing turns into that of a dog's. He wolf-sped over towards Caroline but Damon jumped quickly into his course and they both fall to the piney ground. Hands force the vampire down into the first floor, the werewolf dipping his head down trying multiple times to bite Damon. The Salvatore held him away by the front of his shoulders, struggling. He gained enough adrenaline-made strength and forced the wolf away, getting up and stumbling toward Tyler.

Caroline cautiously looked over the vampire and questioned, "Damon?"

"I'm fine," he snapped, giving her a sharp look, warning her not to talk again.

"Get out of here!" Tyler growled out, his voice unlike normal and his teeth barred, sharper than a shark's.

"Get to the Lockwood cellar. If it held him in, it'll keep him out. If it doesn't..." Damon reached into his leather jacket pocket, finding what he'd stolen from Matt earlier, "use these." Wooden bullets make their way back to their rightful owner. Matt hastily put them back into his rifle.
"It'll buy you a couple seconds. Go. Go!"

"Damon..." Anastasiya hesitantly said, looking away from Caroline and Matt as they disappear.

"Go, Anastasiya!" he commanded, turning toward her with a forcing look.

"Please," she whispered, "be safe." Pleading, emerald orbs lock on those of sorry, glacier ones. Damon gave a curt nod, one that he'd given many times before going off to war. As Stefan pleaded him to be safe, the elder Salvatore simply nodded, engulfing his brother in a warm hug. Anastasiya vanished into the night.

Hardback books accompanied by loose leaves of paper littered the oak floor. Anastasiya stepped further into the room, hearing the heavy breathing of a person. The crunch of glass under her white and blue mid-heal shoes made the girl curious as to what had happened. Behind a desk was the brunet Mikaelson, attired in ripped clothing. His hair was a mess and his eyes bloodshot. Creeping from his forearm to his hand were discolored veins.

"Kol?" Anastasiya questioned in concern, stepping around the desk to see a large gash in his upper arm. It oozed and was the color of rotten skin. A bite mark, she observed.

"Ana..." he took a deep breath, wiping the sweat from his forehead "-you should leave."

"Can't I help?" she wondered, crouching down next to the original. His eyes looked shamefully away from her brooding ones.

Kol, shaking his head, objected, "Please. I'll be fine." She instinctively grabbed the brunet's hand with both of hers, taking it close to herself as form of comfort.

"My blood," she whispered. "Kol, what about my blood?" But came no response. Anastasiya dropped Kol's hand at the sight of grey veins creeping along them. She turned his face just in time to see it turn from sickly pale to pasty grey. "Kol!"

"That's what happens when werewolves bite vampires," a british voice says behind her, small and whispering. "He'll be fine, love."

~

"Anastasiya!" She knew the voice anywhere, sounding that of British, American, and Australian accents combined. There he stood, clad in a grey, fitting suit. A night in shining armor. The hero that shouldn't be.

"Elijah," she breathed, turning to face him with a small smile.

"Why are you not somewhere safe? There's a werewolf loose, Stasiya." The original stepped closer as he said this, his eyes filled with urgency and concern. "We must go." His voice hushed and gentle, worried that the wolf could hear and strike.
