seventh

After the seventh, Felix assumed he should stop counting

By now, Felix assumed he should probably stop counting the times they met, otherwise he might be in the hundreds. It seemed like yesterday they were celebrating Chan's birthday and dressing up for Halloween parties. At the same time, it felt like they had known each other for years. Felix glanced at the clock. He still had an hour before Chan was supposed to pick him up to go to his house for the Christmas party. Sorting through his phone, Felix finally found the video he wanted. On their last date, Chan sang for him during the car ride, unaware that Felix was recording.

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine~"

He smiled to himself as he got ready. At first, being involved with Chan's life was slightly terrifying. He was introduced to a new friend almost every day and promptly forgot them moments later. Most of the time, they were pretty chill with it, but there was that- what was his name? Jae? who decided his name must not be forgotten and scribbled it down on his notebook, claiming he was the most handsome.

As a bonus, Felix no longer had to wallow around by himself when Jisung went out on dates and could instead spend time with Chan or help out at his work.

Knock knock.

Felix was confused, Chan wasn't supposed to be there for another thirty minutes. Nevertheless, he opened the door to find the one and only.

"What's up?"

"I dunno, I was bored and I wanted some alone time." The dark-haired boy wrapped his arms around Felix. The latter of which was trying his best to not melt into a puddle.

"Um, I'm still getting ready-" Chan let go and Felix immediately missed his warmth.

"Oh! I can wait in the car."

"No, no it's fine, you can sit on the couch. It'll only be a few minutes."

Felix grabbed a handful of clothes, hoping that they matched before exiting to the bathroom.

"Can I have a brownie?" Chan's voice echoed through the door right as Felix was throwing on his shirt. He poked his head out to find the older sprawled on the couch.

"They're for the party."

"Hmph." The boy scrunched up his face into an adorable expression.

"Fineee." Felix shut the door and finished getting ready.

"Aww, you look so good!" Chan complimented the boy as soon as he stepped out of the bathroom

"So do you~" Felix answered, slightly distracted as his eyes scanned the countertop. Where is it? Finally finding the item he needed, he shoved it into his pocket before having his hand grabbed and pulled out through campus and into Chan's car.

They approached the boy's house, laughter already leaking under the door. Even Chan seemed uneasy to discover whatever chaos was inside but he opened it anyway.

"WHEEEEE!" Minho was practically running through the house with Jisung on his back and Changbin chased them with a can of spray cheese.

"Woah!" Hyunjin was in the corner balancing cups on his head as Seungmin tried to blow them down.

"Yo I got the booze!" Jackson popped over to greet the duo before quickly taking off again.

"Give me my jacket back!" Ryujin chased after him, dark hair flying behind her.

"YOU CAN COMPLETE MY CIRCLE!" Bambam was having his own personal concert as Momo and Jeongin were dancing their hearts out along with a few other girls. Jae chimed in occasionally before going back to throwing confetti in the air.

"HEY brownie boy!" Minho had spotted the box in Felix's hands before being tackled by Jisung.

"Oh, my Jihyo." Chan voiced Felix's thoughts. They were going to be lucky to make it out alive.

"CHAN! Sana caught the toaster on fire!" Another girl Felix vaguely recognized burst between them and out the door, flaming toaster in hand.

"SURPRISE!" Suddenly, Chan and Felix were subject to a pound of confetti thrown over their heads by a giggling Yeji and one of her friends. There were far too many things going on for Felix to focus.

"I thought you said this was going to be a small party," he whispered to Chan.

"I did, obviously the guest list was altered. Wait a sec, I'll be right back." With a sigh, Chan went off to check the status of his kitchen and now snowy toaster. Felix tried his best to intermingle with everyone and he had fun dancing along with Momo. At some point, Chan joined in, dancing along to whatever remix Bambam and Jae thought up. Eventually, however, the boy was exhausted and chose to sneak outside.

"Too much?" Chan had followed him out, eating a brownie.

"Kinda." The two sat on the steps, leaning against each other. Oh yeah! Felix dug out the present from his pocket. "Merry Christmas!" He handed the item over.

"Aww, thank you sunshine!" Chan unpacked it to reveal the bracelet his boyfriend made him. "Help me put it on?" Felix obliged. When he lifted his head, he was greeted with warm material. Feeling around, he realized it was a scarf. "Is it too big?"

"No, it's perfect." Felix rubbed his face against the fabric, in awe of the softness.

"I'm glad." Chan kissed him on the forehead before ruffling the boy's hair.

"HEY! What're you two love birds doing? It's caroling time!" Jisung poked his head through the door, laughing his heart out. Grinning at each other, Chan and Felix went inside, holding hands.

"All I want for Christmas is you~!" They joined in at the last moment, smiles on everyone's faces. Everything seemed to quiet down long enough for Chan to turn to the other.

"I love you."

"I love you, too."
