fifth

The fifth was while he was studying.

After the fun over the weekend, Felix was busy cramming for his test on Tuesday. He was outside, which meant that although there was fresh air, there was also a lot of noise.

"Sunshine~!" Immediately, he lost all focus on his books.

"Channie! How come I never see you on campus?"

"Usually my classes are earlier in the day. Jisung told me to keep you company." Felix mentally reminded himself to thank his friend. He turned to the stack of study materials on the table.

"Wanna help me with math?"

"Nope!" Felix pouted, offering the puppy eyes that had never failed him before. "Just kidding, lemme see." The two of them worked step by step through each problem and Felix pretended to not get distracted by his face. How are you so perfect?

"Yo Chan!" A loud voice echoed from behind them to reveal a tall man with orange sunglasses.

"Oh Bambam! What's up?" Chan addressed the man casually as he approached them. He's kinda scary.

"Nothing important," he glanced over Felix's shoulder, "Ooh math, good luck with that!" Without so much as a goodbye, he took off, waving to someone else in the distance. "Yo, Mark!"

"Bye?" Chan chuckled at Felix's confusion.

"Skrt skrrt!" Bambam had turned around to offer his parting words making a heart over his head. What the heck?

"Who was that?"

"Bambam and I work together at the movie theater." He has another job?

"Since when did you work at the theater?"

"It's usually something I do on the weekends though I've had other priorities recently." Chan winked at the boy.

"Hey, how many jobs do you have?" He seemed to ponder for a moment, finger on his chin

"Hopefully five." Hopefully?

"What are they? I know the ice cream shop, obviously, a student here, and..." Felix trailed off.

"I've got the band and the movie theater." How could I forget 3racha? Jisung would've killed me. Wait that's-

"But that's only four?" Unless all the studying had permanently ruined his brain, Felix was pretty sure he didn't miscount. Chan cleared his throat, ears slowly turning red.

"Well, uh, maybe your boyfriend?" It took a moment for the words to make sense.

"Are you asking me out?" Oh my Jihyo.

"You're free to say no! I just thought since over the weekend-" Felix wrapped his arms around the boy, laughing.

"Why the heck would I say no?"

"I, uh-" Chan never finished his sentence, instead opting to squeeze the boy. Felix nestled his head into his shoulder, smiling so big his face hurt. "Wanna take a study break and get ice cream?"

"Yes!" They packed up Felix's stuff before racing to Chan's car. "I win!" Felix put his hand on the door, laughing as the other finally caught up. The car ride was full of bright and happy conversation. The older boy held his hand for pretty much the whole time as he drove. This time, Felix didn't bother trying to not stare.

The small white building was as empty as usual, with only a few stragglers. A trio of girls sat in the corner, giggling over who knows what.

"Ooh, Chan has a boyfriend!" One of the dark-haired girls piped up, getting out of her seat.

"Haha, Momo, this is Felix, Felix this is Momo."

"Nice to meet ya!" To Felix's surprise, the girl practically climbed over the counter. "What do y'all want?"

"I'll take salted caramel and," Chan turned to the boy beside him, "Same as before, yeah?"

"Yup."

"And one strawberry."

"Ooh, that one's pretty sweet!" The girl handed them their orders as Chan paid.

"We know." The two shared a laugh before finding a table to sit at.

"Are you free Friday evening?" Felix mentally checked his calendar, even though he knew he would put everything aside anyway.

"Yeah." Taking a bite of his ice cream, he contemplated stealing some of Chan's. Or should I say boyfriend's?

"How does a movie sound?"

"Pretty sweet!" Felix chuckled at his own joke and Chan reached across to wipe something off his face. He blushed before reaching to take a bite of the other's dessert. "Mmm, like you!"

"Get a room!" Momo was back at the table with her friends, shouting across the small space. The otherwise quiet shop was filled with laughter.

Eventually, Felix and Chan said their goodbyes and left, hand in hand.
