Alex really seemed to like the show. And I was glad someone finally did, because none of my other friends liked it. Now I finally had someone to talk about the show with. I leaned over on the armrest and just sighed happily. I was absolutely in love with this show, and now I had a friend who loved it just the same. Alex came back just a couple minutes before intermission ended. He still had my jacket on, even though it was practically swallowing him alive.

The lights dimmed back down but I still hesitated to turn my attention away from Alex and back onto the stage. He looked so breathtakingly handsome. The lights reflected off of him perfectly. The jacket made him look smaller than he really was and he had a smile pressed onto his face. His eyes were huge with amazement as the musical went through on stage. I couldn't bring myself to look away from him.

What the hell was I thinking? Just yesterday I hated his guts, and now I was just thinking about how handsome he was. I was finally able to redirect my vision away from him and at the stage. The songs made me smile and flooded me with excitement and adrenaline just as it did the first time I saw it. It seemed to do the same to Alex. He seemed so entranced by the act. I felt a twist in my stomach and I found myself staring at him again. I needed to stop. Nothing would ever happen between me and Alexander.

The show ended and the actors came to give their final bows. We left and walked back to the dorms. But we took our time. I let Alex keep my jacket because I honestly felt fine, and the genius didn't bring one of his own.

"So do you know what other shows you might want to see?" I asked. He nodded with the biggest grin on his face.

"Yeah. Yeah and I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks John."

"That's what friends are for," I said.

He laughed a bit. "Yeah friends."

"So what are the shows?"

"Huh?"

"The shows. The ones you want to see."

"Oh! Yeah, um... Ha, um, I really want to see the other one you mentioned."

"Newsies?"

"Yeah. A-And I want to see... What was it called... Wicked?"

"Those are some good ones. I'll be sure to tell Burr and the others."

"Yeah..." he whispered.

"Hey, are you okay? You look kinda down."

"What? Oh. N-No I'm fine. Just tired, I guess," he shrugged.

"Well the dorm isn't much further."

So we walked the rest of the way in silence, getting to the dorm around ten o'clock.

"You're always cutting it so close Laurens," a voice said. I looked over and saw Charles sitting there with his book, and his feet propped up like always.

"Relax Lee, there's still half an hour 'till curfew."

"What are you always doing out?"

"Sorry, its called having a life, you should try it sometime."

He rolled his eyes at me. "Who's your friend?" he huffed.

Alex stopped and hid behind me. "Alexander Hamilton," I said. "He's my roommate dumbass."

"Watch it John," he growled.

"As RA shouldn't you know who's living your dorm building?" I chuckled.

"It's just my job to make sure no one does anything illegal. Now go upstairs, nitwit."

"As long as I don't have to look at the thing you call a face anymore."

I put my hand on Alex's lower back to lead him up the stairs. Then I immediately pulled my hand back and shoved it in my pocket.

Alex started to change and once again I found myself staring at him. His structure lacked muscle definition, but he was still very fit and quite frankly, very pleasing to the eye. I turned away and changed into some warm clothes myself. When I turned back around, Alex was mere inches away from me.

"I-uh... S-Sorry. I just wanted to give you your jacket back..."

"Oh, um... Thanks. I'm glad it could be of some use to you."

He smiled a bit and brushed his hair back. "Thank you, again, for tonight. I-I really appreciated all of it. Paying for my ticket. The walk. The show. Everything. Thanks."

I smiled. "You're welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed it all."

He turned back and changed into a pair of warmups, climbing into bed and facing the wall. I could imagine him being tired, so I didn't bother to try and keep him up with my stupidity. I heard a thudding outside, and Alex perked up. "What is that?" he asked drowsily.

I peeked out the window. "Just rain," I stated.

He laid back down. I turned the light off and climbed into bed myself. There was a flash the seeped through the window, and I sat up to see what is was, but in the process, there was a huge crash of thunder. Alex whimpered and turned the lamp back on.

"Whoa, hey, are you alright?" I asked, rushing to his bedside.

He looked at me, his eyes swollen with tears. Another clap of thunder went off. He let out a soft cry, and clenched the blanket in his hands tightly. "I-I-I don't like th-thunder," he said softly.

"Y-You'll be fine," I said trying to calm him down. "The thunder can't do anything in here."

He chuckled softly. I put my hand on his shoulder. I was kneeling by the bed, and he was trying to hide his tears in his shirt's neckline. "I-I'm sorry. I-"

"Don't worry about it, it's okay," I interrupted. Alex looked ready to cry. And then he did start to cry, softly, silently, letting the tears fall. "I-I never really know what to when people cry in front of me. I'm not so great at comforting people."

He smiled weakly. "You seem to be doing an okay job now." Another clap of thunder. He flinched. He moved over slightly and tapped the bed. I got up and sat next to him. "I-I-I'm sorry for cr-crying."

"Don't be. You shouldn't be."

"I-I should've just let you sleep. You looked tired and-" Another flash of lightning followed by a roar of thunder. Alex grabbed my arm and yanked me closer to him. He slowly released me and apologized. "Sorry."

I didn't know what to do. I bit my lip and looked down at him. "Here." I got up quickly and grabbed a pair of earbuds. "They might help with the sound. Just put them in and listen to something calming.

"Thank you, but I don't have any music on my phone."

"It's okay. I do." I got up again to get my phone. He plugged the earbuds and scrolled through my library before settling on playing 'Music of the Night' on repeat. He laid back and I started to get up. He grabbed my wrist. Pulling out one earbud, he looked up at me with huge puppy dog eyes.

"St-Stay here. Please. I-It feels s-safer." I just nodded and sat back down. My head was resting against the wall, and Alex was wrapped around my arm. After a couple minutes, his breathing slowed and as the thunder went on outside, he fell deeper into sleep. I could feel my eyes drooping and finally I fell asleep.

-

I woke up to another loud clap of thunder. I grabbed my phone to check the time, but it was dead. Alex was still past out, holding onto me with his hands around my forearm. His hair was tangled and sticking up. I carefully got up and checked the clocked. It was only 7 AM. Alex rolled over to face the wall and stirred in his sleep. I took my phone and earbuds and put them on the desk, plugging my phone in to charge. I wanted to go back to bed, and I was tempted to lay back down with him.

I sat back down on his bed and ran my hand through my hair. I leaned over him and kissed the top of his head. Oh, what was I doing? My stomach fluttered, and I sighed. The thunder was softer but it was still pouring outside. I nudged Alex awake. He turned back to face me and looked up at me. He smiled slightly.

"I-I-I'm sorry, about last night," he said. I shook my head no.

"Don't be. I just don't know how to deal with scared people. But I'm glad if I was of any help," I said. He nodded.

"You really were, thanks." I got off his bed and fed my turtle. He sat up and grabbed a hair tie to fix his hair and looked out the window. He looked sad. "I-It's still raining pretty hard." I put my hand around his shoulders.

"It should lighten up soon."

"John," he whispered.

"Yeah?"

"Your...Y-Your arm."

I blushed. "I-I-I'm sorry Alex." I shoved my hands in my pockets.

He smiled lightly. "It's okay. I'm going to go shower."

"Okay. Hey do you want to meet up with Laf and Hercules later?"

"I uh... I think I'll stay inside, thanks."

"Okay. Well, what... What if they came up here? To our dorm?"

"Is that allowed?"

"Yeah. I don't know why it wouldn't be. But how does that sound? It might be a good distraction from the storm."

He smiled and nodded. "Sounds nice. I'll be back." And he left. I dove for my phone and became impatient as I waited for t to turn on. I sent out a group message to Lafayette and Hercules.
