Jungkook sighed as he looked down at the keys in his hand. His eyes met mine, and he immediately groaned. "Fine, I'll let you see him but you have to make it quick."
I quickly slipped out of the cage right as he opened the locked doors. Jungkook grabbed my wrist, and led me into the other side of the prison, where the people locked inside would soon be killed. I raced toward Jimin's cell as soon as I saw him. The gash on his cheek was still colored dark red. I looked at Jungkook for him to open the cage, but he slowly shook his head. "You know I can't do that Alana."
"Jungkook please." I begged, but he still wouldn't budge.
"I'll leave you alone for two minutes, and then I'm sending you back." Jungkook made an agreement before going to stand watch at the door.
"I'm so sorry." I whimpered while watching the blood that covered his face. "It's all my fault."
"I did this to myself." Jimin casually responded as he played with the chains around his wrists. "Now how about you do yourself a favor and leave before you get hurt."
"I don't want you to die." I licked my trembling lips.
"You can't possibly mean that." He shook his head.
"I do mean it." I wrapped my fingers around the metal bars. "I forgive you Jimin, I swear I do."
"Princess—"
"Alana, Jimin." I bit my bottom lip. "Call me Alana."
"I'm not sure there's anything you can do Alana."
"If you die, I want to die with you." I courageously told him, while looking into the killers dark eyes.
"Why would you do that to yourself." Jimin lowered his brows. "I've been nothing but an animal to you, and now I'm some kind of savior? I deserve to die Alana, just let it go."
"I can't." I brought the palm of my hand to my mouth. "I'm not sure of my reason, but I can't forget about you Jimin. You're always in mind."
Jimin came forward, sitting on his knees on the other side of the cage. He leaned toward my lips, pressing his against mine, before slowly pulling away. "Alana, I need you to leave." Jimin spoke calmly, but also somewhat aggressively. "I can't control this from happening, neither can you."
"I'm not letting you die after you let me go." I held his bloody hand. "My blood should be the one on your hands."
"I ruined you." Jimin quietly muttered under his breath. "Look at you, all your innocence is gone."
"I don't want to live an innocent life." I mumbled.
"Then you'll have to live without me." Jimin said as he laid back against the prison wall.
"I won't actually." I gently grabbed the bars. "There is one way we could both be set free from this cruel and uneasy world."
"Dying?" Jimin chuckled, as his lips slowly formed a straight line as he saw my serious face. "You want to kill yourself?"
"Us." I let a tear drop fall onto my cheek, wrapping my hand around his fingers.
Jimin was starting to understand what she meant by us. She wanted them to die together, in each other's company. "I won't let you." Jimin shook his head.
"I'll do it either way." I bit my lip as he turned to face me. "If you die, I'll die too, because I couldn't live without you."
Jimin knew that he'd gotten to me, not so much emotionally but mentally. It was too late to fix it, because my mind was telling me to love him no matter what he did. I couldn't live without him.
"You sure you want to do this?" Jimin looked up at me, while his thumb rubbed circles into my hand.
I wish I could've realized this was a one sided love story, that he didn't want me like I wanted him. I wish I knew his sadness was forever, that no girl could ever change the way he thought. I wish that Jungkook kept me in the cage, before I decided to end my life, risking it all for him. I nodded, finally answering his question.
"Poison." He mumbled. "It's the easiest way out."
I gave him a reassuring nod, before Jungkook came towards me. "Your time is up princess, I'm sorry."
"Can I at least see my family?" I asked him, wanting to get inside the kitchen.
"Of course." Jungkook smiled as he gently held my wrist. "You're brave, you know that, right Alana?"
I looked over at Jungkook with solid eyes, nodding as if I agreed with his words. He took me into the empty kitchen and let go of my hand. "Jungkook."
"Hm?" He looked up.
"I need to tell you the truth." I fidgeted with my hands. "I'm not really here to see my family."
"I need poison for Jimin." I watched as his brow rose. "I don't want him to die in pain tomorrow."
"Princess, I can't—"
"Please." I whimpered as tears began to fall. "I will do anything. I don't want him to die like that."
The idea sounded heartfelt and sweet at first, but what Jungkook didn't know, was that I would be drinking the poison as well. Jungkook sighed, as both of his hands rested on the back of his head.
"This is the last time I'm helping you princess." He warned her, while unlocking the black cupboard.
"Thank you." I licked my lips, as a soft smile came across my lips. "Can I also have two chalices with red wine."
"Why two?" Jungkook lowered his brows as he used the key to lock the cupboard.
"I don't want him to know." I quickly conquered a lie, learning from my parents and close brothers.
I grabbed the chalices and slowly walked down the stairs and into the dark chamber. In my mind, all I was thinking about was never seeing my family. It was a hard concept to grasp, but it would be over soon. I set the chalices on the cold cement, getting Jimin's attention. He glanced down at the bottle, which was filled with the poison. "Are you ready."
He hesitated for a couple seconds, before giving a small nod. I unlocked the lower lever, used to put food inside the cages.
"Did you put the poison in?" Jimin asked as I set it to the floor.
"Not yet." I nervously licked my lips.
"Here—" He grabbed my hand before I could pour the red liquid into the wine. "Allow me, Princess."
I slowly reached my hand through the opened part of the cage, giving him the bottle, and both chalices.
"I want you to do something for me." Jimin held onto my hand with one of his.
"I'll do anything." I quickly offered, almost as if he was some kind of deity to me.
"I want you to close your eyes, and pray." Jimin said the words he never thought he'd say. "I want you to let him know we're coming."
I bit down on my bruised lip, shutting my eyes as they were filled with tears. Jimin continued to rub the skin on my hand, while his other hand opened the bottle. I continued to pray for us both, telling God why I was doing this and how it'll make every thing better again. Jimin let the bottle hover over one of the chalices, letting a couple drops fall into the wine. He covered the small bottle, and kept it hidden in his pocket. "I'm ready princess Alana."
I opened my eyes to see a chalice sitting directly in front of me. My fingers slowly reached for it, and I was finally holding it in my hands. "Let's hope we find each other soon." Jimin held his glass to his lips, while I had a hard time looking at the liquid.
"I love you Jimin." I struggled to say, as my voice was still shaky.
"Take care of yourself princess." Jimin tilted his head back as he drank the entire thing in one go.
I held his hand, lifting the poisoned wine to my trembling lips and drank everything single drop inside the chalice. But it was wine, just red wine.
The chalice slipped out of my fingers, clashing on the cement floor. "You bastard, how could you do this to me!" I cried out, choking as my reddening eyes painfully glanced at him.
I looked around me for the poison, but it was too late, he'd already hidden it. I broke down in tears, letting my sobs echo through the hollow prison.
"How could you leave me?" I looked up at him with pain in my eyes, and a broken heart, completely shattered.
"It's for your own good princess." He nodded his head, staying calm as the poison traveled through his blood.
"Jimin, please don't do this, please don't die on me, please!" I held his hand as tightly as I could, letting my tears fall onto his warm skin. "I love you Jimin, don't leave me alone, please—!" I begged him but there was nothing he could do.
"I'm sorry for making you this way, Alana."
Those were the last words he said to me, the last words he'd say to anymore. My heart would stay broken forever.
