Know that it is the womb,
From which all beings arise;
The universe is born within me,
And within me will be destroyed.
- Shrimad Bhagavad Gita
______
Through the cosmos, I started travelling,
Closing my eyes to the light dazzling,
Fáilted by angels, I reached my new home,
And then got into my mother's womb.
In an instant, I became the happiest soul,
It was heaven to watch my tranquil mother,
Our heartbeats became mingled,
Her breath and mine became entangled.
Every time I moved inside, mom & dad cared,
Every night, innumerable stories were shared,
In the warmth of their affection,
I resided in an arrant satisfaction.
One day, I would see the world,
And sour the sky like a mighty bird,
One day, I'll shine,
Just like the beautiful moon.
One day I would bloom,
And change the world with a boom.
All my dreams were gone,
Even before I was born,
What made you turn into a churl?
Is it because I'm a girl?
Is it the fault of Brahma?
Or it has something to do with the Karma?
Or is it all the part of your drama,
To get the male child you crave for?
Tell me, all that affection was fake?
All your promises were for namesake?
Isn't it cruel to kill me in the womb?
Even before the birth, you gave me a tomb.
A small, innocent child I am,
I wonder what have I done so sham,
Why am I hated so much on this Earth,
That I'm killed even before taking birth?
All your promises were lies -
The world, dad and even you mom,
When y'all failed to embrace your kin,
Death embraced me in a dustbin.
Death embraced me in a dustbin.
