Someone stole my color
Someone stole my color,
From the face I knew well;
Like the embers dying to ashes,
They left me colorless.
Someone stole my color,
When the world was brighter;
Spraying it to the winds,
They left me to chase.
From the orange in stick-ice,
To the cotton-candy clouds;
The muddy houses on the beach,
Everything is out of reach.
From the caramel colored candies,
To the bright white daisies;
The rainbow in the sky,
Replaced by the shades of grey.
From the glaring little dreams,
To the silly vibrant hopes,
All my kaleidoscopic delights,
Trapped in blacks and whites.
Someone stole my color,
As I grew up from a child to an adult.
Someone stole my color,
And I've stopped chasing anymore.
