GLEN HALE WAITED IN THE HALLWAY, IN HOPE OF CATCHING A GLIMPSE OF CAROLINE FORBES. Not in a creepy way, he had liked the girl for a long time, not that the blond-haired girl knew who he was.
Glen looked over to see Caroline pull Elena Gilbert into a hug, the brunette girl of the two had lost her parents in a car crash in Wickery Bridge last year.
It was the only time he had spoken to Elena, giving him her condolences.

In history class, Glen barely paid any attention as Mr. Tanner spoke. "Once our home state of Virginia joined confederacy in 1861, it created a tremendous amount of tension within the state. People in Virginia's northwest region had different ideals than those from the traditional deep south. Then Virginia divided in 1863 with the northwest region joining the union."
Glen saw the new student starting at Elena Gilbert.

Glen has gone to the Mysic Grill, despite his best efforts to avoid the place when Vicki Donovan was working. All the girl ever caused was terrible. Plus, she was a whore. Or at least, Glen thought that would be her job in a year or two.
Glen sat at a table, alone. Just as he always had he sat up straighter when he saw that Caroline Forbes had entered the Grill, with Bonnie Bennet. The two were engaged in a conversation, one that Glen couldn't hear with how the two were in the opposite side of the Grill.

Glen collapsed into the seat at his desk, pulling his backpack up from the floor and taking out his notes.

Glen glared at the history teacher, annoyed with the man. Glen hoped this day would go fast, so he could go to the party already.
"The Battle of Willow Creek took place right at the end of the war in our very own Mystic Falls. How many casualties resulted in this battle?" Tanner questioned, looking around at the students. "Ms. Bennett?"
"Um...a lot? I'm not sure. Like a whole lot." Bonnie answered.
"Cute becomes dumb in an instant, Ms. Bennett. Mr. Donovan? Would you like to take this opportunity to overcome your embedded jock stereotype?" Mr. Tanner asked.
"It's okay, Mr. Tanner, I'm cool with it," Matt says.
"Aren't you the football couch?" Glen asked, a bit to loudly as the students chuckled.
"Mr. Hale, would you like to answer how many casualties there where?" Mr. Tanner asked, angrily.
"Enough to make it a deviating event in history."
Tanner hummed, annoyed with the students. "Elena? Surely you can enlighten us about one of the town's most significantly historical events?"
Elena shocked her head, stumbling for her words for a second. "I'm sorry, I--I don't know."
"I was willing to be lenient last year for obvious reasons, Elena. But the personal excuses ended with summer break."
"What the fuck?" Glen snapped.
"There were 346 casualties. Unless you're counting local civilians," Stefan says at the same time.
"Watch your langue or leave my class," Tanner told the Hale boy, before he turned to Stefan. "That's correct. Mister...?"
"Salvatore," Stefan supplied.
"Salvatore. Any relation to the original settlers here at Mystic Falls?" Tanner asked.
Stefan tilted his head. "Distant."
"Well, very good. Except, of course, there were no civilian casualties in this battle," Tanner walked behind his desk.
"Actually, there were twenty seven, sir. Confederate soldiers, they fired on the church, believing it to be housing weapons. They were wrong." Stefan informed. "It was a night of great loss. The founder's archives are, uh, stored in civil hall if you'd like to brush up on your facts, Mr. Tanner."
Most of the class contained their laughter. Glen covered his mouth to prevent from laughing any-farther.

Glen held a beer bottle, nursing the bottle. That was his excuse for not having out with anyone. He didn't really hang out with many people.
He had thought about finding Caroline, trying to strike up a conversation with her, but it was difficult to find her. And when he did, he would get to nervous and instead grab another beer.

Glen's head snapped up at the sound of panicked yelling. Jeremy Gilbert ran out of the woods, holding a body as his sister, Elena running along side him. "Somebody help!"
Matt pushed through the people. "Vicki? Vicki, what the hell?"
Jeremy placed the nineteen-year-old on one of the picnic tables.
"What happened to her?" Tyler ran up to the table she had been placed on.
"Somebody, call an ambulance!" Matt yelled.
Glen immediately pulled out his phone. "On it!" He knew it was a bad idea for multiple people to be calling the police for one issue, especially when everyone knows how hard Vicki 'parties'.
"Everybody back up, give her some space!" Tyler shoved some people back.
"It's her neck. Something bit her. She's losing a lot of blood," Elena points out.
"This is-" Glen walked away from the yelling, holding his phone to his ear as he started to explain what had happened.

The cops came, after taking Vicki to the hospital, checked some of the ID's of the students. Or, if they already knew that were underage, was already speaking to them.
Glen had left before the cops arrived, after the phone call.
