{{Chapter 1}}

It was a beautiful day here at the town called "Boiling Isles", Flowers were blooming, birds were chirping, and everyone looks civilized as usual. But among the crowd filling the streets, there was one brown hair teen that stood amongst those who watched her.

She was dancing and following the rhythm of the music beating in her earphones. It was clear that she enjoyed every bit of it as she dashed across the sidewalk, snapping and twirling a few times when the beat drops.

As usual, the crowd surrounding her only started and laughed at her while others admired her footwork as well as her smooth moves.

But for the confident teen, she didn't care what others thought of her. She usually gets anxious and nervous whenever other people watch her dance. But for her, today was special, she felt confident for the first time.

She continued walking in her direction, waving a hand to greet some of the street kids who played soccer in the park. For the girl, seeing others smile is what boosts her confidence and joy.

After a few minutes of walking, she finally stomped her foot in the second of the last beat in her music to fit the timing. She then removed her headphones and looked up to the tall building in front of her.

Grinning, she slowly brushed her hair backward as few teens wearing the same uniform walked past her.

"This is it, Luz. Your dream school, Hexside Academy, home to the "Hexide's witches" underdogs. " She chuckled to herself, still being mesmerized by the view of the campus.

The teen then looked around the front of the campus. There she saw multiple separated groups. Others were singing, some were playing soccer around the field, while others did their personal doings.

Luz smirked. "Hm, I guess this was the course system Mama Camilia told me about." Luz started. "I wonder, where is my future club at?"

But before she could take her first step into the campus, she felt her instincts drop in when she heard someone shouting behind her.

"Crap we're late!" a female voice nervously shouted from behind.

With Luz's quick thinking, she quickly dashed to her right to avoid getting hit by the running teen.

There the brown hair teen saw that the panicking female voice had a pink varsity jacket with the word "Banshees" printed at the back.

"Watch where you're going, nerd!" She shouted as soon as she passed Luz.

The freshman stayed in her position, unable to think of a response to the girl rushing inside the campus' building.

Instead, she only sighed and chuckled, relieved that she managed to dodge that pink-haired teen before they both come into contact.

When suddenly, another voice was heard shouting from the back. But this time, Luz wasn't able to react to it.

"Get out of the way-" The running teen managed to shout before she bumped into Luz, making both of them fall.

The freshman grunted, picking up her fallen phone then switching her attention to the girl who bumped into her.

It shows that the girl was also wearing the same jacket like the one from before. Aside from that, the girl had two-toned aquamarine-colored hair with brown color from her roots.

Luz quickly stood up, looking down at the fallen teen. She reached out a hand to her and smiled. "Are you okay? Are you-"

But before she could even finish her question, the fallen teen quickly slapped her hand away and stood up.

"Watch it, nitwit!" She growled back, showing slight annoyance in her face.

Luz gasped, taking a few steps to her right to make a wide way for the angered teen. "Sorry, go ahead." She offered with a forced weak smile.

The aquamarine-haired girl only gave Luz one last angered look, running into the building to follow her teammate inside afterward.

After Luz watched her run away, she quickly looked behind her to check if anyone was running in her direction. Luckily, there were only 2 of them.

The teen finally sighed in relief, dusting the dirt from her shirt away. She then turned around to face the front entrance of the building.

"Right, what a great way to start the day." She cheered, slightly sarcastic. "Well then, I better get going before I get ran over again, who knows who could trample me over next like those two idiots."

She lifted her arm to check the time, smirking afterward when she saw the clock's hand struck to 6. "Alright, I have enough time to check out the club."

With that, she cheerfully skipped inside the building, casually looking side to side to see if someone's running towards her again.

The campus wasn't that big which made it much easier for Luz to determine the rooms. Luckily she found one specific room which brought a huge smile to her face.

Despite being a freshman, other students in the crowd started to stare at her for her weird style of clothing. As if they were laughing at them.

The school's dress code wasn't strict like other schools, they were allowed to wear any clothing as long as its casual and normal. But for Luz's style, made her the main attraction in the halls.

She was wearing her usual half purple, half white jacket with cat ears hoodie and shorts for her lower attire. It was casual for her but for the students of Hexside, their standards were way up top.

But Luz didn't even look nor replied to them, instead, she followed the beat and rhythm of the music being played in the distance.

Her walk began to take place, turning into a running approach seconds later. "I can hear it, I can feel it." She grinned.

Dodging the passing students along the way, she managed to enter a two-door room leading into the school's dance room. As soon as she stopped walking, her eyes widened from the view right in front of her.

Unlike Luz's old school, their dance room wasn't as large as what they have to offer here in Hexside. It had a huge stage in the center, multiple seats in the side, and colorful lights attached to a support post above them.

"I can't believe I'm finally here, this is freaking awesome!" She irresistibly smiled and jumped up and down from her place.

And in that exact moment, two students approached her. both of them were wearing the same pink jacket with the team name "Banshees" written on the back.

"Heya stranger, what's your name?" The teen with the dark blue hair asked with a warm smile.

Luz nervously chuckled and accepted her handshake. "Luz. Luz Noceda." She answered before facing the boy right beside the girl.

"And you are?" she continued.

The boy quickly grabbed Luz's other hand and repeatedly shook it. "The name's Augustus Porter!"

"And I'm Willow Park." The dark-haired teen added.

Luz smiled. "Well nice to meet you, Willow, Augustus. Am I disturbing anything or-" She was cut off by Willow.

"Of course not! Welcome to "Hexside's Dance track!" what can we do for you?"

The teen nervously chuckled. "I knew it! Oh- and Uhm." She stuttered, unable to pronounce her question properly.

While the two members stared at the freshman in confusion, another member called their attention back inside.

"Hey dorks, practice is about to start!"

Willow and Augustus nodded in agreement back to her. "We'll be there!" Answered Willow.

They firstly turned back to Luz Noceda who was still speechless at the time.

Augustus spoke up. "Well, it was nice talking to you, Luz. See you later!"

But before Willow and her friends could even run back inside, Luz took the chance to quickly grab their wrists to make them stop walking away.

"W-wait!" She yelled, making both dancers raise an eyebrow at her.

"What is it?" They asked.

Luz took one last deep breath before facing the two with a serious yet determined look.

After a few seconds, Luz finally managed to sputter out the words. "I-I would like to apply for this track, please."

Willow and Augustus looked at each other, returning to Luz after. "We love to!"

With that positive response, a huge smile formed on Luz's face which made her jump in joy again. Sadly, it didn't last long.

"But, that's not for us to decide." Willow continued in a sad tone in her voice.

Augustus followed from behind. "Yeah, for all I know our track is full of members. But it's all up to our captain to decide if she'll admit you."

"Lucky for you two I'm great at convincing others! Well, I think-" She confidently replied, hiding the fact that she's terrible at it.

Willow chuckled softly before turning around to face her dance crew preparing from behind. There she glanced around the area to look for the one called "Team captain" of the Hexside witches.

"Hm, I swore I saw that jerk a while ago." She continued glancing around the place.

Not long after that, all of the students' attention in that room, including Luz, switched to the right side of the room where they saw two female teens arguing.

The other one was walking away while her teammate tried to convince her into something. But what shocked Luz was both the teens arguing are the same ones who ran past her from the campus front.

She carefully flicked a finger to point at the yelling pink haired teen in the distance. "That girl is your captain?"

Willow nodded. "Yeah, her name's Boscha. She could be a real jerk." she sighed.

"I wonder what is it this time? Those two argue all the time." Augustus added, crossing his arms to his chest.

With full confidence, Luz slowly took a step in front, making the dancers look at her.

"Well then, let's find out, shall we?"
