-Beacon Cliffs-
Glynda Goodwitch walked up to Ozpin, while looking at a screen. "Our second to last pair has been formed, Sir. It's Nora Valkyrie and Lie Ren....poor boy. I can't possibly imagine those two getting along. Still, he's probably better off than Miss Nikos." The middle aged woman commented.
"Hmm" Professor Ozpin responded to Glynda's comment in thought.
"I don't care what his transcripts say. That Jaune fellow isn't ready for this level of combat. I guess we'll find out soon enough, and then there's our last remaining one that have yet to form a pair. Either way, at their current pace they should reach the temple in a couple of minutes....."
Glynda stated voicing her thoughts as she walked off, although turned around a couple of seconds later. "Speaking of which, what did you use as relics this year....Professor Ozpin?" She asked, although the headmaster was distracted by the video feed that was showing Ruby, Weiss, and Ky.

-Deeper within Emerald Forest-
Ruby was sitting on the ground playing with the grass, while Ky was on his back, cloud watching as Weiss attempted to figure out which direction to go; pacing back and forth.
"It's definitely this way.....I mean this way! It's definitely this way. Alright, its official we passed it." The heiress finally admitted.
"We haven't even moved," Ky bemoaned. Soon, Ruby had enough and stood up to confront Weiss.
"Why can't you just admit that we have no idea where we're going?" Ruby questioned.
"Because I know exactly where we're going. We're going...to....the forest temple." Weiss stated in attempt to keep Ruby from being right.
"Oh, really?" Ky mumbled as he performed a kick up to his feet. "And pray tell, where exactly IS the forest temple?"
"Simple, it's...uh..." Weiss mumbled before pointing in a random direction. "That way!"
Ky and Ruby looked at the white haired girl with blank expressions, before the bluenette face-palmed. "Ohh, my God..." He groaned while in annoyance.
(Like this)
"Oh stop it! You don't know where we are either." The white haired girl retorted.
"Well at least we're not pretending like we know everything." Ruby responded.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Weiss questioned, getting more and more angry.
"It means you're a big stupid jerk, and I hate you!" The silver eyed girl exclaimed.
"Ughhhh, just keep moving." Weiss commanded, as she walked away.
"Kinda defeats the whole the purpose," Ky sighed, before he took a look around his surroundings. 'With all these tree branches in the way, I can't see where the sun is... Should we go to higher ground to get a better look? Or would that attract more monsters? ....Meh.'
"Ahhh, just keep moving, hurry up! Waaaaahhhh, watch where you're going!" Ruby mocked Weiss. "Why do you have to be so bossy?!" The younger girl questioned
"I'm not bossy! Stop saying things like that." Weiss yelled as she turned around, and walked back towards Ruby.
"Stop treating me like a kid!" Ruby retorted in anger.
"Stop acting like a kid!" The heiress insulted
"Well stop acting like you're perfect!" The short girl responded in anger.
The two were cut off by a the sound of slashing, before a loud crash was heard causing both girls screamed in fright from the sudden interruption. Ruby fell the ground, while Weiss stumbled back a bit. The two girls looked over at Ky, who had a numerous amount of cut down trees in front of him, floored in a large pile and revealing a good view of the sky and the clouds above.
"There, now we should be able to figure out where to go." Ky said, nodding to himself.
Marching up to the bluenette with a frown, Weiss grabbed Ky by his shoulder and spun him around to face her. "What are you doing, you dolt? Making all that noise will attract more Grimm to our location!"
"Ah, don't get you panties in a twist, Snow White! I know what I'm doing!" Ky retorted as he jerked his arm away from Weiss' grip before sheathing his blades. The boy stepped onto the group of trees before slowly rotating himself while looking up at the sky with narrow eyes, before raising a hand to block the rays of light that hit him as soon as the sun came into view. A small smirk formed on Ky's face after a minute of silence before he turned around and jumped next to Weiss and Ruby, the latter who was now back on her feet. "A little off to the north, but if we adjust ourselves and continue heading this way, we should be able to find something."
"What are you talking about? How do you know?" A bemused Weiss questioned with a slightly surprised look on her face, before narrowing her eyes. "Are you just pointing in some random area?"
"Of course not!" Ky answered in. "It's something I learned back home from a friend. You can use the sun for navigation and checking the time since it always goes from east to west, and depending on where we see the sun from our location can tell us if we are going north or south. The sun was still in the northeast area when we were on the cliff with the Wizard of Oz and Miss She-Devil. Not to mention it was a little more north from looking at it from the cliff. Looking at it now and remembering where the sun was when we started, I can figure out the general direction of where we need to go."
Blinking in surprise at the boy's explanation, Ruby rushed up to the boy with gleaming eyes. "Wow, that's amazing, Ky!"
Weiss was silent for a few seconds before managing to find her voice. "That's... very impressive actually. But how do you know we didn't go passed it?"
Rubbing the back of his head, Ky let out an awkward chuckle. "I don't, honestly. If we got a bird's eye view of the area, that would help us figure out if we passed it or not."
"A bird's eye view huh? Well what if we use that?" Ruby commented, while pointing up at a Nevermore that was flying flow, while circling around the group.
"I like the way you think, Rosebud," Ky said with a grin.
"What are you two crazy?! Do you expect that thing to just give us a ride?!" Weiss exclaimed, while frowning.
"Nope." Ky simply stated as he drew Bright Crest and turned it into it's arrow gun mode. "We'll force it. Hey, Big-Bird!"
The young teen anticipated the Grimm's pattern, before shooting at the Nevermore with pinpoint accuracy, and fast speed. The projectiles cut through the air as each of them, except for one, hit the bony like mask causing them to get deflected, while the last one managed to get slightly embedded just about the bony structure. The Nevermore hovered for a second not affected by the bullets, and looked over at where the items came from. It immediately began to dive for the group. Ky started running towards it, while Ruby followed after. Weiss was a little hesitant, but chased after the other two.
As the Nevermore got closer, Ky used his Aura to jump up high in order to grab onto the fin like structure on its head. He pulled back on the protrusion hard effectively causing the creature to start veering up. Ruby used her speed to jump and grab onto the side of Grimm hanging on for dear life, while Weiss used her semblance to do the same. The Nevermore attempted to shake Ky off, although the golden- eyed boy held on with an iron grip. He looked around after the Nevermore was a high enough distance, before spotting the ruins far in the distance. Ky started guiding the creature of darkness to the intended destination.
"This is awesome!" Ky exclaimed in joy.
"This is by far the worse, and craziest idea ever!" Weiss yelled through the wind.

"Hmmm..." Jaune crossed his arms as he and Pyrrha found themselves standing in front of a cave that had strange drawings near the entrance. It looked to be several humanoid stick figures surrounding what looked like a large scorpion, while other drawings seemed to have faded greatly. Turning his head to look at the girl next to him, Jaune made a gesture towards the cave, "Think this is it?"
Studying the cave with a wary gaze, Pyrrha tightened the grip she had on her weapon. "I'm not sure. It's too dark to get a good look inside."
"... Hold on." Taking a few steps away from the cave and his teammate, Jaune did a quick scan of the nearby branches and twigs before coming to a stop with a grin. "Ah-ha! This will work!"
"What will work?" Pyrrha asked as she watched the blonde teen kneel down and start to move about and fiddle with something in his hands. Moving closer to him, the redheaded warrior peered over his shoulder with a raised eyebrow.
"This gonna help us out," Jaune declared as he revealed his creation, which turned out to be a makeshift torch out of wood and a bunch of leafs that were tied at the top. "Luckily I remember my dad showing me how to making torches during one of my camping trips to Anima." Smiling with pride at his creation, Jaune lowered the torch to focus his attention back to the ground and scanned through the grass and dirt. "Now I just need something to start a fire."
"Here. This should help,"
Turning his head around to look at Pyrrha, he took notice to a strange rectangular device in her hands with a red crystal sticking out of it. "You've got a Dust Fire Starter! Whoa, those things cost a fortune!"
"It's something that my mother gave me when I was younger. She always told me to be prepared for any situation to avoid running into problems." Pyrrha explained as she handed Jaune the Fire Starter with a smile, one that was mirrored by her teammate as he pressed the red Dust Crystal against the batch of tied leaves before pressing the button to activate the device.
"Yeah, parents really seem to know everything about anything," A noticeable heat could be felt against his gloved hand, signaling that the Fire Starter was working as traces of smoke was coming from the area that the crystal was pressed against. Several seconds later, the smoke was replaced by a small fire that quickly grew into a large blaze. "Nice. Now we can go check out the cave. C'mon Pyrrha!"
"... Alright." Pyrrha said as she watched her teammate head towards the entrance of the cave before following after him. It was after a minute of walking through the slightly brightened room and scanning the tunnel around them that the redhead spoke up with cautious look on her face, "Jaune, I'm not sure this is where we'll find the relics..."
Letting out a sigh at his partner's skeptic comment, Jaune turned slightly to face her while gesturing to the lit torch in his hand. "Pyrrha, I made the torch. Could you at least humor me for maybe five more feet... Wha-!?" Not paying attention to where he was walking prevented Jaune from seeing the decent-sized rock that was sticking out of the ground and caused him to trip, falling to the ground as the torch flew out of his hands and hit a small puddle a little further away. "Ow. Oh come on, that wasn't even four!"
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. Just... Just a small blow to my pride."
Blinking as she felt the air around her change, Pyrrha looked around with narrow eyes before she called out to her teammate as she sensed him getting back to his feet. "Do you feel that?"
"Soul crushing regret?" Jaune replied as his eyes widened in the darkness as he could barely see anything, instantly regretting his decision to continue deeper into the cave, before shifting his gaze to where he was sure Pyrrha was still standing. "A nerve racking sensation?"
"No, it's... warm?" Despite Jaune not being able to see it, one of Pyrrha's eyebrows raised a little as she tried to figure out what was causing the sudden rise in temperature inside the previously chilly cave, the cautious feeling from earlier returning full force as something could be seen starting to glow in the distance.

(With Blake and Yang)
"Do you think that's the place?" Yang spoke up as she and Blake looked down the hillside and saw what appeared to be the ruins of a temple with most of structure already destroyed.
Giving the female blonde a look, Blake shook her head before making her way down. Yang soon followed after them and joined them as they came across several pedestals that were lined up in a circle, some of which had items on them that looked like-
"Chess pieces?" Yang thought out loud as she studied the different chess pieces that were either black or gold. She then stood in front of the pedestal that had a gold Knight piece on it. "Looks like a few pieces are missing. Guess that means other teams made it here before us."
Blake shrugged her shoulders. "Well, let's just pick one for now."
"Hmmm, then how about a cute little pony!" Yang called out to the girl as she grabbed the gold knight piece that was on the pedestal, waving it at them as they turned to face her.
A small smile formed on Blake face at Yang's choice, "Sure."
The duo met in the middle of the temple ruins, "This was way easier than I thought it was going to be." Yang said cheerfully as she put the chess piece away for safe keeping.
"Well, it's not like this place is very difficult to find." Blake stated as the two shared a smile, but the moment didn't last as a loud, girlish scream could be heard echoing in the distance.
Snapping her head in the direction of the scream with a concerned look, Yang took a step forward towards the forest. "Did you hear that? Some girl is in trouble! She must've run into monsters like the guy we say earlier!"
She never noticed the bow on Blake's head twitched followed by the black haired girl looking upwards. "What should we do?" the blonde asked, looking around the ruins.
"... Um... Yang..." Said blonde turned their heads to see Blake looking up at the sky with a look of disbelief before pointing upwards, making the two look up themselves to see what she was staring at. Before mirroring her expression at the strangely familiar figure falling towards them.
A look of panic was on Ruby's face as she descended rapidly towards the ground, waving her arms and legs frantically to rebalance herself. "HHHEEEEAAAAADDS UUUUUUUUP!"
(A Few Seconds Earlier)
"THIS IS THE WORST IDEA IN THE HISTORY OF IDEAS!" Weiss screeched as
holding onto the crow like creature for dear life. Ruby was doing the same a little bit ahead of Weiss, holding onto the crow, the wind blowing past both of them violently.
"Come on, Weiss!" Ky laughed, looking back at the girl. "Where's your sense of adventure?!"
"Back on the ground!" The heiress snapped angrily.
"We're fine, Weiss! Stop worrying! We should be over the temple soon!" Ruby called back while tightening her grip as to not fall off.
Feeling a twitch on her forehead at Ruby's words, Weiss closed one eye to stop the wind from uncomfortably blowing against it. "I am so FAR beyond worrying!"
Ruby raised an eyebrow. "...In a good way?"
"In a BAD way!" Weiss shrieked. "In a very bad way!"
"Ruins sighted!" Ky yelled from behind them as he pointed at the ground.
Ruby smiled happily. "See, Weiss? The plan worked!"
Weiss growled. "Okay, but how do you plan on getting down?"
"Uhh..." Ruby faltered. "Okay, maybe I didn't plan that far ahead."
"I'm going to do die surrounded by the biggest idiots on Remnant!" Weiss wailed loudly.
"Well, it's better than dying alone, right?" Ky pointed out.
"I'd much rather not die at all!" Weiss countered.
Ruby yelled, "In that case, why don't we just jump?"
Ky nodded "Sounds good! On 3! ....3!!!"
"What?!" Weiss yelled. "Are you two insane?!"
"...."
"...."
"Ky?... Ruby?" After a few seconds of hearing no reply coming from her teammate, Weiss managed to lift her head enough to look at the areas where Ky and Ruby had been... only to find them unoccupied. "Oh, you TRAITOROUS-"

As Ky was sky-diving through the air, he was stunned to see Ruby dropping down at break-neck speeds, flailing about as she dropped. Seeing his friend in trouble, Ky activated his Semblance, while shouting, "Hang on, Rosebud!"
With that, Ky vanished in a blue flash, before he rocket himself towards Ruby as blue blur.
(Pretend this is Ky and the flash is blue)
Soon after, he managed to catch the red-hooded girl in his arms, and after making sure he had her secure in at least one arm, Ky angled himself towards the nearest tree branch he could see, and used his acrobatics skills to pull them over to said branch. Upon making contact with the branch, Ky allowed his momentum to carry him and Ruby through a quick spin around the tree limb, and then launch them both off in the direction of the other three.
When they finally landed again, Ruby could be seen holding tightly onto Ky with her eyes closed.
"You okay, Rosebud?" Ky asked, prompting the girl to finally open her eyes.
When she turned her gaze to her rescuer, Ruby found her eyes locking with Ky's, and just stared at him for several more seconds before her face slowly began to heat up.
"Uhh...Ruby? You there?" Ky asked raising an eyebrow, when he didn't get a reply.
Ruby's face was practically a tomato at this point as she snapped back to reality. "Huh?...AH!" She screamed, quickly jumping out of Ky's grasp.
"S-Sorry!" She blurted out with a flushed face, as she started to straighten her skirt.
Ky just chuckled in response. "It's fine, Ruby."
Suddenly, a blond blur rushed by through the sky.
"Hey Jaune! Watch out for that tree-" Ky couldn't finish as Jaune collided with the nearby tree trunk.
"Did your sister and friend just fall from the sky?" Blake asked as she looked from the confused Yang towards the spot where Ruby and Ky stood.
Walking up to her partner with a dumbstruck expression, Yang opened her mouth to speak, "... I-"
All four teens spun their heads to another part of the forest to see several trees falling to the floor with the sounds of something growling in the shadows. They were soon greeted by the sight of a thrashing Ursa emerging from the trees as if it was trying to shake something off, but before any of them could do anything, a pink electrical flash could be seen followed by the sounds of an explosion. The large Ursa's movements came to a quick halt as its limbs fell before its body crashed to the ground. To their surprise, an orange haired girl could be seen rolling off the dead Grimm's back as it fell forward.
"YEEEE-HAAAAW!" The girl shouted as she rolled to the floor, before getting back to her feet with a pout as she turned to face the now dead creature. "Aww. It's broken already?!"
"Wait a minute... Isn't that...?" Ky started to say as he, Ruby Blake and Yang watched the girl move to stand on top of the dead Ursa, stepping on it a few times before looking up to see that there were people staring at her.
The girl's gaze shifted from his two teammates before focusing on him. Narrowing her eyes slightly while leaning forwards as if to figure out what she was looking at, a look of realization appeared on her face and pointed at Ky with an excited grin. "IT'S YOU! HEY KY!!!"
"Huh?" Ky blinked a few times at her addressing. "Uhh... hey, Nora."
"You know that girl, Ky?" Ruby asked as she felt even more confused at the girl's entrance.
"We met last night during the huge sleepover." Ky answered as he shifted his gaze briefly to look at Ruby, but when he looked back at where Nora had been, he was greeted with the sight of a panted Ren standing near the dead Ursa,
"Nora! Please... Don't ever do that again." He said, panting and leaning on the Ursa. He looks up again and notices by the pink dotted outline of where his partner should be that Nora has run off again, and looks around frantically.
"Oooohh..." Nora said, observing the chess pieces. She then suddenly grabs a golden rook, as an animation of stars and her hammer symbol playing in the pink background, as she dances and sings with the chess piece. "I'm queen of the castle! I'm queen of the castle!"
She was interrupted when a voice called out to her. "Nora!" The voice yells, shattering her background and making her flinch slightly. She stops dancing with the rook on her head, then salutes, dropping the relic into her hand.
"Coming Ren!" She yells back, as she happily skips off to her friend.
"Did that girl just ride in on an Ursa?" Blake asked once more.
"I..." Yang was about to try and comment again, when a shrill sound came from another direction, and they all turned to see Pyrrha Nikos comes onto the scene as a large Death Stalker uproots entire trees in its chase after her. Pyrrha narrowly dodges its giant claws and keeps on running.
"Jaune!" She yelled as she noticed the scraggly blonde, still hanging on the tree.
"Pyrrha!" He yelled back.
"Whoa!" Ky said, looking at the large Grimm chasing Pyrrha. "Check it out, Rosebud!"
A look of amazement formed on Ruby's face as she caught sight of the creature. "It's a Death Stalker! And a big one!"
"Ky, Ruby!" Jaune started to say, only for the duo to take off running... leaving him stuck in the tree.
"Ruby?" A relieved Yang spoke up as Ruby landed a few feet away. "Ky!"
"Yang!" Ruby cheered as she looked over to see her older sister.
"Sup Yang!" Ky greeted with a large grin as he watched Yang and Ruby reach out to hug one another...
"Nora!" the ginger-haired girl declared as she stepped in between the two, startling them all a little. When she noticed how they were looking at her weirdly, she just kept smiling and said, "I wanted to be included, too."
"Did she just run all the way here with a Deathstalker on her tail?," Blake then asked.
"Grrrr..." Yang growled, before she exploded, literally. While everyone was a little surprised at how her hair seemed to just light on fire while her eyes had turned red, they were a little more concerned over the fact that all the craziness had finally made her snap. "I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something crazy happens again?!"
No one said a word, leaving the whole area quiet save for the sounds of Ren's panting as he came to stand next to Nora, and the sound of the Deathstalker as it continued to chase Pyrrha and. Exactly two seconds later though, Ruby gently tapped her sister's shoulder, and pointed up at the sky as she nervously said, "Um, Yang..."
The blonde hung her head, almost afraid to look at what her sister was pointing at, and muttering about how she did not mean literally two seconds, but she still did look up along with everyone else to see Weiss hanging from the talons of a massive Nevermore that was circling above them. "How could you two leave me!?" Weiss cried out as the bird cawed from above.
"We said 'jump!'" Ruby called back, weakly.
"Wait a minute. You two were on that thing?," Ren asked as he glanced between Ruby and Ky then the bird that Weiss was currently hanging onto for dear life. "How'd you even get on it?"
"Long story," Ruby sighed in response.
"She's gonna fall," Blake then stated.
Ruby just waved her off, saying, "She'll be fine."
"Yeah, I wouldn't be so sure of that," Ky spoke with a blank face.
"Why?"
"She's falling," Ren deadpanned in response for the bluenette.
Hearing that prompted Ky to start getting ready to rush to the rescue again. He may not be Weiss's biggest fan at the moment, but he was not going to let her fall to her death because of that; he's not that mean. What he did not expect was for someone else to rescue her.
Jaune, having finally recovered from his collision with the tree, looks up to see Weiss falling through the air. Jumping off the branch with his arms outstretched, he caught her in a slowed-down moment.
"Just... dropping in?" Jaune says, both look down and see that they still haven't touched the ground yet, "Oh, God."
They hung on to each other wide-eyed as their moment of suspension ends, their weapons flying behind them.
"Oh, noooooooo-" was Jaune's exclamation before he faceplanted into the dirt, limbs splayed out, serving as the perfect landing spot for Weiss as she falls into a seated position on his body.
"My hero." Weiss said mockingly.
"My back..." Jaune groaned weakly.
"Smooth, Jaune!" Ky called out, before turning his head to see Pyrrha still being chased by the Death Stalker and doing her best to dodge its claws. "There we go, now we just have get Pyrrha away from that-" Ky was cut off as the Death Stalker suddenly used its tail and smacked Pyrrha, knocking the redhead into the air toward the group and caused her to crash into the dirt in front of them. "Or that could happen... Hey Pyrrha, how was the flight?"
"Short, painful and a little exhausting," Pyrrha replied as she slowly got back to her feet, shaking her head a bit to brush off the ache.
"Great! The gang's all here. Now we can die together," Yang sarcastically grumbled aloud.
"Not if I can help it," Ruby smirked, and the next thing anyone knew, she had begun charging at the Deathstalker with a battle cry, drawing her scythe and unfolding it to its full length so that she would be ready to attack at any second.
"Ruby, wait!" Ky shouted, but the girl was already well out of reach, and blasting towards the Deathstalker even faster thanks to a boost of speed from firing her weapon behind her.
That blast of speed put Ruby right within striking distance of the Deathstalker, and she made sure to hit it as hard as she could. Sadly, it was not hard enough, as the scorpion Grimm's armor was just too tough for Ruby's scythe to break through, and to make matters worse, the Deathstalker was also able to retaliate far faster than Ruby was expecting, so she could do nothing to keep herself from being bashed aside by the thing's massive claws. Thankfully she was not too badly hurt, but it did sting quite a bit. Not that she was willing to admit it, because after she had gotten up again, she had quickly shouted, "D-Do-Don't worry! Totally fine!"
The crimsonette slowly turn towards the Deathstalker again, looking much more scared than she had before. Thankfully, she was able to get off a quick shot on the monster with her scythe, and used the recoil of the blast to try and get away, spinning her scythe back into its carrying case on the back of her belt as she ran so that she would not be slowed down too much.
Yang ran forward, fearing her sisters' safety. "Ruby!" She yelled as Ky followed after her.
Ruby began running back when the Nevermore from before screeched overhead. The raven Grimm cawed and fiercely flapped its wings. Dozens of black feathers launched from its body like spears and bombarded the ground.
Ruby ducked and miraculously avoided all the projectiles. She got up to continue running got caught short when she realized her cape was being pinned down by one of the feathers. She fruitlessly tugged on the garment as the DeathStalker crept closer.
Yang and Ky raced to save the young reaper but were cut off by another volley of razor-sharp feathers from the nevermore. "Ruby, get out of there!" Yang desperately cried.
"I'm trying!" Ruby tugged on her cape, trying to get it free. Seeing his friend in trouble, Ky used his semblance and teleported through the field or featthers towards Ruby.
The Deathstalker raised one of it's claws, aiming to end the young girl's life. Ruby's eyes widened in horror.
"NO!" Yang cried out.
Just as it was about to bring down one of its massive claws on Ruby, Ky hurled Fallen Abyss towards the Grimm and teleported in front of Ruby, grabbing his blade in the process.
"Get away from her!" Ky shouted as he changed his hold of Fallen Abyss into a reverse grip and managed to parry the blow just in time.
Sadly, he realized a little too late that he had not accounted for the scorpion monster's stinger, and by the time he looked up at it, it was already coming down too fast for him to deflect it.
Without any time to think, Ky jumped over to Ruby, shielding her with his body and snapped his eyes shut, awaiting the blow. To his surprise, it never came, but instead, there was the sound of something freezing over at a rapid pace, while a certain heiress's voice commented, "You are so childish."
"Huh?" Ky asked as he opened his eyes.
"Weiss?" Ruby asked in surprise as she opened her eyes as well to see that the girl she ended up the reluctant partner to was standing over her and Ky with her sword pointed down at the ground where a massive wall of ice seemed to begin from.
"And dimwitted, and hyperactive, and don't even get me started on your fighting style," Weiss continued from where she left off, turning to face Ruby as she did, quickly telling Ky who she was addressing between the two of them. He actually just starting to get angry with Weiss again, when the girl surprised him by saying, "And I suppose, I can be a bit...difficult..."
"Understatement of the century," Ky muttered under his breath.
"Hush you! I'm trying to make a point," Weiss snapped. She then cleared her throat and turned back to Ruby. "As I was saying, while all of that is true, if we're going to do this, we're going to have to do this together. So if you quit trying to show off I'll be...nicer."
"I'm not trying to show off. I want you to know I can do this," Ruby finally admitted. Apparently she was still worried about being seen as a charity case or just any variety of special, and from what Ky could figure, it seemed like she had been trying a little too hard to prove that to Weiss especially today. Not that he could blame Ruby, given how receptive Weiss had been towards Ruby's attendance at Beacon thus far, so he was very pleasantly surprised at the next thing that Weiss said to her.
"You're fine," Weiss reassured Ruby, and in a much gentler voice than her normal one, no less. Even more surprising was the fact that Weiss smiled a little when Ruby let out a long sigh of relief, but that smile quickly vanished when she turned to Ky and warned, "I'm still not quite sure how I feel about you."
"Yeah, that's pretty fair, I guess," Ky shrugged with a smile, while holding his hand out to Weiss in a silent offer for at least a temporary truce from their animosity up until now.
Weiss just offered a ghost of a smile in response and accepted the handshake before helping him to pull Ruby's cape free from the Nevermore quill that was pinning it to the ground.
Weiss was walking back when she noticed Ky's smug expression. "What?"
Ky put his hands on his hips and leaned forward. "Was that so hard?"
"I'm not dignifying that childish remark with a response," Weiss rolled her eyes.
"You kinda just did," Ky shrugged.
Ruby looked over and saw the Dark Stalker's tail frozen to the ground, as a large pillar of ice keeping it in place. The Dark Stalker already struggling to free itself from the ice's grip.
"Whoa!" Ruby breathed before she was tackled in a bearhug by Yang.
"So happy you're okay!" The blonde said, before she looked over at Ky. "Thanks for looking out for her, Ky!"
The blunette gave her thumbs up and grinned. "Sure thing."
Suddenly a loud roar broke through the air catching everyone's attentions, causing them to look upward at the large crow like creature that had nearly caused Ruby's downfall. Everyone quickly regrouped with the others where Jaune was the first to speak surprisingly.
"Guys, that thing's circling back. What're we gonna do?" He asked as he pointed up at the Nevermore above them.
"Look, there's no sense in dilly-dallying. Our objective is right in front of us," Weiss reminded everyone.
"I'm sorry, did you just say 'dilly-dallying,'" Ky teased, earning him an eye-roll from Weiss.
"She's right, Ky" Ruby stated, earning her a surprised look from the bluenette and a satisfied smile from Weiss. "Our mission is to grab an artifact and make it back to the cliffs. There's no point in fighting these things."
"Oh, right," Ky said as he looked at the ruins, chuckling nervously forgetting what he was supposed to do to pass the initiation.
"Run and live. That is an idea I can get behind," Jaune agreed.
With that settled, Ruby, Jaune, and Ky all grabbed a chess piece of their own, Ruby taking the white knight, Jaune a white rook, and Ky taken another white knight. They had done so at just the right moment, as the Deathstalker's icy prison could be heard cracking apart, indicating that it would be free at any minute. "Time we left," Ren nodded to everyone.
"Right. Let's go," Ruby ordered as she took the lead in everyone's departure.
"We're right behind you, Rosebud," Ky nodded as he soon came up alongside her.
Only Yang did not rush off right away, and Blake had quickly taken notice of the fact. "What is it?" she asked the blonde.
Yang just continued smiling as she watched her little sister taking the lead like a seasoned pro, even when Ruby paused to look back and make sure everyone was following, striking a rather heroic pose without even realizing it. When she saw Ky move to stand alongside her like a true partner, her grin did grow a little more, but this time, it was not in teasing way. If anything, Yang felt like she was looking at the beginning of something truly great when she saw the two standing side-by-side like that, and it just made her all the more proud of her sister. "Nothing," Yang finally replied to Blake, but from the look on her face, Blake had already figured out what she was thinking at the moment.

It wasn't long before the group of nine to make their way through the forest and found themselves running through an abandoned ruins that seemed to stretch all the way towards the cliff in the distance. But they weren't alone as the Nevermore, who was missing a good portion of each wing, was still trailing behind them high up in the air before increasing speed to where it perched itself on a temple column that was between them and the cliff. Once there, the group spread out and took cover behind some of stone pillars to prevent the Nevermore from attacking them from a distance with its feathers. Securing themselves behind several pillars, the group watched as the bird-like Grimm adjusted its footing on the column before letting out a loud screech that echoed throughout the area.
"Well that's just great!" Yang stated with an annoyed expression as she, Ky and Ruby studied the Nevermore's form.
The bluenette perked his head before turning to look behind them, letting out a shout as he picked up the sounds of something heavy in the forest they came from. "We've got more trouble at 6 o'clock!" Almost as soon as warning escaped his lips, the Death Stalker from earlier violently appeared from the forest, destroying any of the trees in its path.
Seeing the giant scorpion rushing towards them, Jaune rushed out from his hiding spot with Pyrrha a few feet behind him. "Aw, man! Run!"
Everyone else was quick to do the same as they emerged from their covers behind the pillars revealing themselves to the Nevermore, which rose up into the air at the sight of the young Hunters-in-training, and soared closer to the group with its wings beating hard.
"Nora, distract it!" Ren called out as he and the orange-haired girl moved out into the open.
Rushing passed the incoming feather projectiles being fired upon her and the others, Nora jumped over a large feather before bringing out her Magnhild in its grenade launcher form and firing several rounds of heart-topped shells at the Nevermore. Each on landing successfully at various points of the large bird Grimm's body with the one exploding into a cloud pink electricity as it connected with its head. The Nevermore reeled back a bit before soaring out of the way to avoid the barrage of Nora's shots, which cleared the way for the students to reach the cliff. But do to staying in one place, it allowed the Death Stalker catch up to Nora, only for Blake and Ren performed a cross-slash that knocked the beast away before it could land any blows to the girl. As this was happening, Weiss landed next to Nora and grabbed her while created a glyph under them that gave them the boost to distance them away from the Death Stalker that was now focusing its attentions Blake and Ren instead.
This didn't escape Ky and Pyrrha's notices as they both came to a halt and transformed their weapons into their sharpshooter/rifle modes and opened fire on the Death Stalker, focusing their shots around the eyes of the giant scorpion making it raise its pincers in an effort to block the incoming attacks, though the force behind Ky's shots were dealing more impact on the giant claws. As soon as Ren got closer to the bridge, he jump over to where the two were and started firing as well until Blake made it to them. All of them jumping out of the way as the Death Stalker tried to attack them with a lunge, but soon came to a halt as the monster realized it could no longer chase after them. All nine students ran as fast as they could to cross the bridge before anything else could get in their way, but the Nevermore returned as it circled around the Cliffside before ramming itself into the bridge, destroying a good chunk of it in the process and separating the group.
"Damn it!" Ky cursed as he looked back to see that Blake, Ren, and Pyrrha were on the side of the destroyed bridge where Death Stalker was waiting for them. Looking behind him to see that Ruby, Weiss and Yang were focusing their attention on Nevermore in the distance, while Jaune and Nora were moving beside him to get a good look at the others. As the two conversed, Ky shifted his gaze at the fog surrounding them with narrow eyes and a tightened grip on his arrow guns. 'Something's not right here, I got a bad feeling in my gut.'
Ky quickly snapped out of his thoughts as he saw a diabolically grinning Nora suddenly knock back Jaune with her Magnhild, before jumping back further than Jaune in time to see her weapon change from its grenade launcher form into a giant full-length Warhammer, and hopped to the edge of the break in the bridge. He watched as Jaune realized what Nora was about to do and try to stop the girl, only to be ignored as she slammed Magnhild into the edge of the bridge that catapulted him to the other side, "No, no, no, NOOO~!"
"Well, that's one way to get across a bridge," Ky said to himself.
Suddenly a gust of wind blew upward as the still-smiling Nora hopped on her hammer and prepared to fire it off the collapsing bridge, the abrupt current made Ky's eyes widen as he snapped his head to the side in time to see a large shadowy form rising from the fog before taking off into a run, transforming his sharpshooters into their blade modes as he leaped in front of Nora in time to intercept a new Grimm that was about attacked her and Jaune, piercing its side with one of his swords. It didn't take long for Ky to recognize it as a Griffon, another aerial Creature of Grimm that was a combination of avian and feline animal traits.
Turning his head back to see Nora continue riding her weapon through the air before slamming it on the head of the Death Stalker's skull while Jaune landed on the ground, his friend looking over at him with worry as the Griffon fly off with Ky riding along, as well as the orange-haired huntress-in-training dodge its retaliation with its golden stinger before accidentally bumped into Blake and making her fall from destroyed bridge. Maneuvering himself to get on top of the Griffon, Ky managed to secure himself near the monster's neck before stabbing the side of it several times, and while not enough to fatally ruin the large creature, it put enough force to make it react to the pain and change its flight path.
"Blake!" Ky shouted out, causing the black-haired girl to turn to see him on top of the Griffon and how it was being steered closer to her.
Reacting quickly, Blake fired her Gambol Shroud at the flying Grimm and managed to stab its blade into the Griffon's side before using her ribbon to swing upwards towards Ky. The blunette extended his hand outward as Blake did the same, and allowed him to grab onto her hand once she was close enough. Brining onto the Griffon's back, the disguised Faunus recalled her weapon by pulling on the ribbon. "Where did this thing come from?!"
"I think it must've been hiding and waiting for prey to show up. Who knew?" Ky commented while noticing the Nevermore flying towards them before looking back at Blake, who was holding her katana in one hand and her bladed sheath in the other. "The good thing is that it's not too big so I can take care of it. You help out Ruby and the others take care of the big birdy until I join you guys!"
"Are you sure you'll be fine on your own?" Blake asked with a worried look.
"Haha! Don't worry. I'll be fine. Trust me!" Ky replied with a grin as he looked back at her, before turning his attention back to the incoming Nevermore. "Looks like this is your stop!"
Nodding her head with hesitation still in her eyes, Blake decided to listen to Ky and focused her attention on the Nevermore as it flew dangerously close over their heads. Using her Clone Semblance several times, Blake used them as stepping stones to get close to the Nevermore before commencing her barrage of attacks. She ran across its back with her weapons in both hands, slashing away at the Grimm until she reached the tail before jumping off, managing to land on the ruined platform at the top of the columns where Ruby, Yang, and Weiss were standing. "That thing's tougher than it looks!"
"Wait, where's Ky?" Ruby asked, looking around for said blunette.
"Up there," Blake replied, pointing up at the Griffon soaring through the sky.
Ruby's gaze focused on Ky briefly, She knew that her friend was going to be alright against the Griffon by himself. It wasn't the first time he had done something that crazy. They were riding on a Nevermore not too long ago! "Be careful, Ky." She whispered.
"Don't worry, baby sis." Yang spoke, getting the girl's attention. "Your boyfriend's going to be fine."
At that, Ruby flushed bright red. "H-He's not my boyfriend!"
"I'm just teasing you!" Yang said before she instantly focusing on the incoming Nevermore as she readied her Ember Celica. "Now, let's hit this thing with everything we got!"
With all of them in silent agreement with Yang's words, Blake, Ruby and Weiss copied her in switching their weapons into their long-range modes and fired a barrage of attacks at the incoming Nevermore, only for the beams, bullets and explosive shots to seemingly bounce off the unaffected aerial Grimm. Seeing that it was about to dive-bomb into the columns and platform, the four girls braced themselves as the ruins under them shattered and broke apart easily, before using the falling wreckage to find stable areas to continue the battle.
Ruby and Weiss were the first ones to find a stable platform thanks to their usage of Crescent Rose's recoil and Weiss' glyphs respectively, both of them catching sight of Blake using the ribbon with her Gambol Shroud to land on a sturdy pillar before running to the top of it while Yang using the recoil of Ember Celica and her explosive punches to reach a higher bridge that was near their platform.
"None of this is working!" Weiss stated as she watched the Nevermore fly around while getting attacked by Yang's explosive rounds.
Studying the battlefield, Ruby quickly to notice of Blake used her sturdy ribbon to get on a nearby platform before looking up at her sister, and finally towards Ky in the distance, as he was striking the Griffon he was riding on with his blades before jumping off and running across the wall. He then began to teleport away while the Grimm chased after him, though she could see his head briefly look in their direction as a plan formed in her mind. Turning towards Weiss after a few seconds, the white-haired Heiress saw the serious look on Ruby's face before she spoke up. "I've got an idea! Cover me for a bit!"

(With the Group Fighting the Death Stalker)
"Let's take this thing down!" Jaune exclaimed before he and the others rushed at the screeching Death Stalker waiting for them with its pincers and stingers ready to strike.
As soon as the four where close enough, the Death Stalker instantly attack the closest one with a jab of its large claw, which happened to be Pyrrha as she raised her shield, Akoúo, to deflect the strike before counterattacking with her Miló Xiphos and hitting the area between the Death Stalker's claw and the limb it was attached to. The sudden attack caused the Grimm to retreat back a few feet before attempting to hit Pyrrha with its second claw. But just like before, its attack was blocked as Jaune positioned himself between the massive claw and Pyrrha with his shield raised high, allowing his teammate enough time to slash at one of the ten eyes on its face.
Rushing up from behind them with his Stormflower firing a barrage of bullets at the giant scorpion, Ren shortened the distance enough for the Death Stalker lashed out with its golden stinger, to which he sidestepped out of the way before grabbing tightly onto the appendage just before the Grimm recalled it. Adjusting himself as the stinger was lifted into the air, Ren held onto the tail with one hand before he resumed his bombardment while concentrating his shots on the base of the stinger. While he was focusing on the stinger, Jaune and Pyrrha were keeping its claws distracted with Nora coming from behind them and transformed her Warhammer back into a grenade launcher before firing a few rounds at it. Seeing an opening thanks to the force of Nora's grenades, Pyrrha hurled her MilóJavelin at the Death Stalker and managed to pierce one of its larger eyes.
Feeling a sharp pain of losing one of its eyes the Death Stalker roared and started thrashing heavily, including its tail which caused Ren to lose his grip before he was sent crashing hard into one of the nearby stone pillars. Nora snapped her head to look at where her friend and teammate landed in time to see him fall to the ground with a loud grunt, "REN!"
"Darn... Huh?" Jaune muttered to himself as he took noticed the Death Stalker's stinger was barely hanging on its tail thanks to the damage Ren dealt to it, before turning to his redhead teammate. "Pyrrha! Get the stinger!"
Nodding her head as she instantly understood what Jaune's order, Pyrrha reared her shield arm back, "Done!" Almost immediately after saying that, Pyrrha hurled her Akoúo at the Death Stalker, the shield spinning so fast that it cut through the weak base and sent the stinger falling into the scorpion's head, piercing into it as Pyrrha's shield bounced off the pillars behind it before returning to her arm.
"Time to finish it. Nora, nail it!" Jaune commanded, making the orange haired girl nod her head as she charge forward with her Magnhild in its Warhammer form. The blonde turned his head to Pyrrha, who nodded her head as she got into a crouched position with her shield over her head.
"Heads up!" Nora warned as she hopped onto Pyrrha's Akoúo with her hammer under her, before firing against it at the same time Pyrrha leaped into the air. The jump and recoil sent Nora flying high into the air, the girl smiling and laughing the whole time as she reached her height limit before coming back towards the Death Stalker. Changing the position of her hammer once again, Nora used the recoil to increase the speed of her descent and added an extra spin to put more force into her strike as she slammed her Magnhild into the stinger, driving it deep into the scorpion's head while crushing the bridge beneath it. The destruction cause the area where Pyrrha and Jaune were standing to flip them over the dying Death Stalker as the bridge under it started to fall, Nora was quick to follow after them as she fired another shot against the scorpion Grimm and used the recoil to get herself to safety.
Soon the rest of the bridge finished crumbling and gave way, sending the Death Stalker to the foggy gorge below while the Hunters-in-training landed safely on the sturdy earth beyond the bridge... Well, Pyrrha had no problem as she landed in a crouched positon, while Jaune landed hard on his back and Nora lands on her rear with a small bounce. A panting Ren wobbled over to them, letting out a small groan before falling forward in front of Pyrrha and Nora.
"Awww, come on!"
Hearing the shout, the others quickly got back to their feet in time to see Ky rapidly teleporting away with the large Griffon chasing after him.
(With Ky)
"This thing doesn't know when to quit!" Ky gritted his teeth as he manuvered through several pillars while the Griffon chased after him, before turning himself towards the face of the cliff. The Griffon let out a screech as it flapped its wings even harder and picked up speed with its front claws stretched out, to which Ky dodged the Grimm's attempts to grab him. "So you want a snack, huh? Then how about this?!"
Running fast across the side of the wall as he got close to the cliff face, the Griffon was just about to grab him. The large monster used its feline-like claws to dig into the rocky surface before crawling after Ky, who smirked as he spun himself around. Unsheathing Fallen Abyss, the blunette spun them downwards and stabbed them into the wall before slashing the wall, causing rocks and boulders to erupt from underneath him and slam into the Griffon as it got close, sending it flying off the wall and towards some of the ruins. Pulling his weapon out of the rocky surface, Ky turned himself back around before kicking off the wall and following after the injured Griffon, which managed to readjust itself before letting out a screech. Switching Liberator into it's arrow gun mode, Ky opened fire on the Griffon, focusing his shots on the aerial monster's wings as it tried a dive attack before jumping onto its back.
"You're a tough, stubborn birdie." Once again changing Bright Crest back into it's blade form, Ky had a grin on his face as he began slashing at the Griffon's back while firing combustion rounds at various points, making it thrash around in pain. Adjusting his stance, Ky made his way off of the Griffon, cutting off the monster's tail as he jumped off. "But it's time to end this now, I need to go help my friends with your buddy!"
Still reeling from the pain of losing its tail, the Griffon let out a loud roar as it maneuvered itself with its wings to fly directly towards the falling Ky with its claws poised to strike and its beak of a mouth wide open. As the Grimm drew closer, Fallen Abyss glowed as Ky channeled a bit of his aura into his weapons. The confident look on his face didn't even falter as the Griffon's large beak/mouth came closer until it was inches away from his body before crashing into the cliff side with its claws digging into the rock while it appear that it devoured Ky, much to the horror of a few who saw it, especially when the Griffon pulled its head back to reveal that Ky's body was gone.
"D-Did Ky really get eaten?!" Jaune questioned with a look of horror, while the others had disbelief at such a thing happening in front of them.
Only for it to be replaced with confusion as the Griffon to start acting strange seconds later with its body thrashing around even more than before, and then, to their surprise, Fallen Abyss' blade shot out of the Grimm's chest. The Griffon seemed to try and reach out to grab the blade, only for it to to disappear back into the Grimm's chest and appear into another part of it's chest. This seemed to repeat at a very fast speed as Fallen Abyss erupted from several points of the Grimm before it let out one final screech as it was sliced in half, revealing a perfectly fine Ky coming out of the destroyed Grimm while jumping over to safety.
"Yippee Ki Yay, Ass-wipe!" Ky exclaimed as he spun Fallen Abyss around. Watching briefly as the remains of the Griffon fell towards the abyss below, Ky turned his head towards the last, remaining Grimm in the fight.
Yang was seen on top of a pillar firing multiple shots at the giant Nevermore, some of her attacks dealing enough damage to catch its attention as it glided towards her in a dive-bomb pose. It let out a screeched as it got close to the female blonde, which allow Yang to jump into its maw and forcefully keep its beak open before firing round after round into the bird Grimm's mouth. "I! Hope! You're! Hung-ry!"
Glancing behind her quickly to see that the Nevermore was getting close to the wall of the cliff, she released her grip before jumping out of the mouth as she caught sight of Ky warping through the air, stretching out an arm as he approached. The young teen grabbed her hand tightly as he flew by, moving away from the Nevermore as it crashed into the rocky wall. Ky and Yang shared a smirk as the former spoke up in a goofy polite manner, the two hovering over a ruin platform a few yard from the Nevermore. "Need a lift, ma'am?"
"Why thank you," Yang replied with a similar tone before pointing to where Blake and Ruby were standing, while Weiss glided passed them and jumped towards the Nevermore, stabbing the tip of her rapier into its tail before it could take flight and freezing it in place. "Get me over there."
"Roger that!" Ky nodded his head as he teleported over to the opposite pillar that Blake was standing, allowing Yang to jump off before moving down to Ruby's level. "I'm guessing you're going for a slingshot?"
"Yep!" Ruby replied with a nod, before Ky got an idea.
"In that case, what do you say we finish it off together?" He suggested.
Ruby looked at the bluenette in surprise. "You mean...like a combo attack?"
Ky nodded. "Yeah, with my teleportation and your speed, Big-Bird won't even see it coming!"
"Ok, meet me at the top of the cliff!" Ruby said with a smirk, making Ky smirk as he flung Bright Crest upwards, high above the cliffs before teleporting himself to the top to watch Ruby's plan in action.
As this was happening, Weiss was returning to the other girls quickly thanks to her glyphs while Blake fired her Gambol Shroud in Pistol Mode over to the Yang on the nearby pillar where the girl caught it and stabbed it into stone. With Blake still holding on to the ribbon, both partners stretched it between the columns as Ruby used her Crescent Rose to land on it, causing it to move the ribbon back towards Weiss, who had summoned a white glyph that quickly turned black to hold onto Ruby and the ribbon as soon as they made contact.
"Of course you would come up with an idea this reckless" Weiss commented as Ruby came to a stop next to her.
"Think you can make the shot?" Ruby asked while not taking her eyes off the struggling Nevermore trying to free itself from the ice, not noticing the confused look Weiss sent her at the younger girl's first comment.
"Hmph. Can I?" Weiss countered with a confident grin.
Now Ruby was a little confused at Weiss' words as she turned to look at her partner, "... Can-"
"Of course I can! You just do your part!" Weiss interrupted with an irritated look.
"No problem."
Ruby smile confidently as she looked back at the Nevermore. With the glyph behind Ruby turning red, Weiss lauched the Scythe user at the trapped Grimm, with Ruby using the recoil of repetitively pressing Crescent Rose's trigger to increase her speed even more. The Nevermore was taken by surprise at the amount of force hitting it as Ruby caught its neck with her scythe's blade before slamming the two of them against the cliff's wall.
Weiss wasn't done as she summoned a row of glyphs that led to the very top of the cliff where Ky was positioned, allowing a yelling Ruby to stick to the wall as she ran up with the use of her Speed Semblance and firing several rounds with each step. As Ruby was getting closer, Ky then drew Fallen Abyss and dove down, with both blades in hand, towards the fast approaching Ruby with his blades ready to strike, before meeting her in the middle by slamming Liberator in the back of the Nevermore's neck. The duo shared a brief glance at one another before they started to use more power of their Semblances, and to the surprise of most of the Hunters-in-training watching them, started deliver countless strikes to the upper part of the Nevermore's body.
"RAAAAAH!" Both Ky and Ruby's voices called out as the strikes continued with rose petals trailing behind Ruby while blue flashes followed Ky, and soon a violet-colored sphere or rose petals and flashes formed around the Nevermore's head for a couple of seconds before the twister burst to reveal two familiar red and blue figures in after-strike poses high above the now decapitated Nevermore. As the headless corpse started to fall towards the ruins and the foggy void that its fellow Creatures of Grimm had fallen into as well, Ruby landed on the cliff's edge while Ky stood beside her.
"... Wow..." That was all Jaune could say as he and the rest watched the lifeless Nevermore fall.
Turning their heads to look at each other, both of them had large grins on their faces. "Wow, that was so awesome!" Ky said happily. "It felt like we were in sync!"
"I know, right?" Ruby nodded in agreement. "It was so cool. We should give it a name!"
"Mmm..." Ky thought for a moment. "Well, what about 'Amethyst Session?'"
"Yeah, that sounds great!" Ruby giggled in return as she held one fist out to Ky in request for a fist bump.
Ky happily granted Ruby's request before pulling back and wiggling his fingers while saying, "Bah-la-la-la-la-la-la."
"Huh? What was that," Ruby asked.
"Just a little something I learned when I was little," Ky replied.
Ruby smiled again when she heard that, and quickly asked for Ky to show her again. This time around, Ruby did her best to copy the movements of Ky's hand while repeating the phrase.

(Later that Day)
"Russel Thrush, Cardin Winchester, Dove Bronzewing, and finally, Sky Lark." Ozpin started as he stared at the four young men standing across from him on stage with their hands behind their backs as a round of applause echoed throughout the assembly room, while over their heads there was a giant screen that the images of the four with the first letters of their names under them. "The four of you retrieved the Black Bishop Pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as... Team CRDL (Cardinal). And you will be led by... Cardin Winchester!"
With the Beacon Academy Initiation finished, Ozpin and the other Professors had gathered all of the new students together to announce which groups were going to be formed into what teams. Most of the First Years where standing at the lower levels of the assembly hall, while faculty members and older students were situated above in the higher floors to get a good look at Beacon Academy's fresh blood. Several students were called up to the stage to join Ozpin, where he announce the formation of the teams, revealing that each group were chosen based on the Chess Pieces that were retrieved and the color.
"Jaune Arc. Lie Ren. Pyrrha Nikos. Nora Valkyrie." Ozpin called out over the clapping as the Team CRDL made their way off the stage as the four replaced them in front of the Headmast while their faces appeared on the screen above them. "The four of you retrieved the White Rook Pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as... Team JNPR (Juniper)." The audience once again started clapping at Ozpin's declaration, while on the stage, Nora let out an excited laugh before bringing a surprised Ren into a tight hug as Pyrrha smiled at the two. Ozpin wasn't finished as he made one final announcement for the group, "Which will be led by... Jaune Arc!"
"Huh?!" A look of shock formed Jaune's face as he pointed at himself, "L-Led by...?"
"Congratulations, young man." Ozpin praised him with small smile.
A dumbfounded Jaune could only stutter as he tried to process what he had just heard, until a grinning Pyrrha landed a friendly, congratulatory punch against his shoulder that had a little too much strength behind it and sent him onto his rear. A good amount of people in the audience started laughing at the sight, causing Pyrrha to flash her partner a sheepish, apologetic before helping him up. The four soon left the stage after helping Jaune back to his feet, passing by the final group of students to be made into a team, surprising some in the crowd at the fact that there were five of them instead of the usual four.
"And the final team... Blake Belladonna. Ky Virtus. Ruby Rose. Weiss Schnee. Yang Xiao Long." More murmurs stretched throughout the audience at the mention of five students, instead of four. Ignoring the conversations, Ozpin looked at all five students in front of him with the same amount of professionalism he had shown the others. "The five of you retrieved the White knight pieces. Despite the odd numbers of student in your team, you all fulfilled the requirements that had laid out before the Initiation began. From this day forward, the five of you will work together as...Team RWBYK (Rubic). Your team will be led by... Ruby Rose!"
As everyone in the audience started to applaud the newly formed team, a shocked Weiss looked over at her partner, who had a surprised look on her face as Ozpin's word. Ruby was cut off from her thoughts as Yang wrapped her arms around the black/red headed girl, "I'm so proud of you!"
"Congratulations, Rosebud!" Ky spoke up as he walked up to the girl and patted her on the shoulder while Yang continued to hug her, "I look forward to working with you, Miss Leader."
"Y-Yeah," Ruby replied as her sister finally let go of her and turn to look at the only male member of the team. "... Me to-!?"
The girl was cut off guard as Ky suddenly moved his hands to her cheeks and started pulling on them, "Come on, Rosebud! Smile more!"
"Ah, agh, Wyet gwo Kwei!" Laughter started to mix in with the applause coming from the audience as they watched the young leader wave her hands frantically as her male teammate messed around with her. This increased even more as Yang decided to join in since it was her right to as an older sister, making Weiss let out an exhausted sigh at the scene while Blake grew an amused smirk. "Swob Ylag! Nwot fo wooo~!
Watching the five as the ceremony came to an end, Ozpin focused his gaze on Ky and Ruby with one last sentence leaving his lips, "Looks like things are shaping up to be an... interesting year."
------------------------
And with that, the Initiation Ceremony is finished and Team RWBYK is born. The next chapter will focus on what happens between Ruby and Weiss, and maybe go into the episodes involving Jaune. Also, I am positive there will be some complaints or questions as to why Ky was added to the whole name thing. Which I will be going into that in the next chapter, so please be patient. Like always with all of my works be sure to leave some nice reviews, but all flames and insults will be IGNORED, so don't bother writing them.
See you guys in the next chapter! Stormy out!!!
