Chapter VI: Skeletons (In Your Closet)

"Oh, brother Light. May you forgive our ignorance and deceit. May we redeem ourselves and come back to the Light. May humanity come back to its senses and push itself forward not for the greater good of the present. But for the greater good of our children and generations to come. May we never unleash The Stampede those who are unworthy of your praise. Rather, we welcome them with open hearts and open minds and pray they come to the light." - The Order Archives (circa 250 ES)

Astrid was never the sadistic type. Even though she likes to kill everything that rubs her the wrong way. She never gets pleasure out of people's suffering and pain. But this event, however, was an exception.

After "teleporting" everyone to the ruined temple, the mortals began to hold their bellies in discomfort. Eventually, they would find a spot, and proceed to vomit the contents out like a water fountain. She giggled at the sight. Back when this temple was full of people (who were most likely cultists), the teleportation spot had its own designated vomit space. It was long, narrow metal trough meant for cows or pigs to drink water from. Eventually, the trough would fill up because of how many first time visitors used the teleportation pad for the first time.

The memory made Astrid giggle, catching your attention.

"I never knew you were the sadistic type, Astrid." You teasingly said. She quickly shook her head and used sign language to tell you about a memory she had of this place. A small laugh escaped your lips. You walked up to her lightly pat her on the shoulder before walking towards the group of nauseated adult men and women.

"So how does it feel like to move at the speed of light, guys?" You asked them with a smug grin on your face.

"...Fuck you, you son of a bitch." Qrow croaked (:D) as he held his stomach for dear life.

"What? We were what?" Winter asked as she tried to stand up, but ended up falling face first into her own puke.

Everyone in Salem's group are too preoccupied with their nausea to even talk. Salem and Ozpin kept a good distance away from each other, both of them wore a stoic, calm look. Your mind then focused on the big double doors of the temple. The gate was designed to mirror the insignia of the great order. With one door representing the moon and one representing the sun. You tried opening the door, but it was sealed shut. You were about to kick the door open again until you pulled out the dagger and pulled up its blade.

Since the blade looks big enough to fit in the lock. You put the dagger blade in and turned it to the right.

The dagger-key then sent massive currents of electricity through the lock. The carvings of the door lit up and some hand different colors to represent its respected sides. The knife disintegrates to nothing, the lock clicks, and the door opens by itself to the once grand interior of the temple. The luminescent tube lights of the temple began lighting up the dark interior. Music (akin to the 40s and 50s) began to echo throughout the halls, adding an eerie atmosphere to the empty temple. A huge statue was present in the middle of the temple.

Everyone at this point moved inside to take a look inside the temple. The temple looks to be in pretty good shape despite the events that happened centuries ago. It seems like this is one of the only places the Grimm never inhabited. As if this was a safe haven for folks from all places in Remnant.

"Fascinating. This temple looks modern than most ruined temples across Remnant. Was this place built recently?" Watt questions himself, but it didn't fell deaf on your ears.

"No. This place was built before The Fall. Before there was Grimm, or the Gods, or even the Titans that once roamed the land we know as Remnant." You replied.

"Titans? You mean those big Grimm sons of bitches that almost turned the entire world into his bitch? You mean those Titans?" Qrow asked the same question that the other people in the group had.

You look at Qrow with sad eyes, "Yes, those Titans. That was a LONG time ago. That was before Dust was discovered as a supply of electricity and weaponry. Where everyone moved backwards instead of forward and different tribes scattered throughout the continents, fighting each other over scarce resources." You replied as you walk towards a weathered statue of yourself. You look at it with disdain and pushed it effortlessly, revealing a huge hole in the ground. Everyone circled the hole and examined it. Hazel pulls out a fire Dust crystal and drops it into the hole.

It took a solid thirty seconds for the crystal to hit the ground, creating a burst of flames below. Everyone except the gods glared at you, with no ladder leading down or at least a spiral staircase. How are they suppose to go down?

You roll your eyes in utter annoyance. People are insanely soft these days.

"Why the hell are you looking at me like that? Just jump down the hole. It's not going to kill you." You said with a shrug.

Cinder scoffs at your statement. "Nice offer, but I'd rather find another way down to whatever it is we are trying to find."

"For your information, this is the only way down. Unless you are inclined to wander the endless maze of Tartarus until you die of starvation and dehydration."

"This hole is the only way down to my personal armory. And it also serves as a test of faith."

"Test of faith?" Cinder asked with a tilted head.

"Faith that you have what it takes to trust a stranger in an end of the world scenario." You replied.

"Then I might as well fail that test then." Cinder remarked as she flicked her hair.

"If Salem told you to jump into that hole. Will you obey her command and jump?" You asked her.

Cinder's eyes go wide as she looked at her boss and at you.

"Answer him." Salem commanded with authority. Cinder felt chills down her spine and swallowed her fears.

"Y-Yes, I will." She stumbled.

"Then why not trust me? I know we only just met a few minutes ago but when there's a immediate crisis that needs to be solved as quickly as possible. Trusting in someone can go a long way, such as this hole, but since you're the one who doubted about this. You're going first." You said as you began speed walking to her.

"Hey! What are you-" Before she could finish, you grab her by the shoulders and toss her down the hole.

Cinder's high pitched screams echoed down the hole until it came to an abrupt stop.

Before anyone could react, you one by one tossed each group members down until all that's left is you, Matilda, Astrid, Ozpin, and Salem. After tossing Winter down last, everything went silent as the four gods tried to speak up. Well, to speak to you. All the bad blood between the four gods were unresolved during your time in the coffin, leading them to distance each other from themselves.

For the first time since The Fall. Stress, emotions, and mental trauma began sink into your psyche. You feel something well up in the pits of your stomach. Something wild. Untamed. That's right, rage. Rage. Rage. Rage.

Anger. Rage.

That feeling boiling in your blood. You feel like you're burning from the inside out. Sweat began dripping down your forehead. Your vision began turning red and see doubles. Matilda and Astrid tried to reach out, but was stung by the scorching body heat you gave off. You tumbled backwards towards your statue, which you kicked out of frustration, pulverizing it into nothingness.

You tried to calm yourself down, but your body kept getting hotter and hotter and my skin began to turn hot red. A low whistle could be heard inside your head. Fire began to consume you and the pain hits you like a bullet train. You wanted to scream and shout, or someone to stop this unbearable pain. You were at your breaking point for God's sakes!

Your prayers were answered when Ozpin and Salem moved in and slapped both your cheeks. Each hand leaving a print in your already molten skin. In fact, that was enough for you to snap out of your diminishing and self-loathing thoughts. To all of their surprise, you went back to normal before their very eyes. There was no sign of cooling down or the fires dying down.

No. You were back to normal as if nothing happened to you. Confused, you rubbed your forehead to see if theirs sweat. There was none.

Looked at the statue behind you. It was still in place. Looked at Ozpin and Salem. They're still in the same spot. But there was no denying that they looked horrified and confused at what transpired a few minutes ago. Matilda and Astrid felt fear as they look at you with pleading eyes and explain what the fuck happened.

Steeling your nerves, you clench your fist and let out a huff of air.

"I almost ended the fucking world."

"What could you possibly have in this armory that could kill the demons anyways? No offense, it looks like a stereotypical medieval dungeon by today's standards."

You took a glance at Torchwick's bored expression and look back to where you're going to.

"Weapons and technology unknown to the people of this world. Only those who truly believe in The Order gets exclusive access to these weapons and armor. And only one person has access to the armory."

With that, everyone turned to see another massive double door with what appears to be a blue energy field. That surprised almost everyone because force field technology hasn't been seen and used since The Fall. Alarm bells began ringing inside their head. You walk up to the door and put your hand above a spot in the wall that decloaked into a hand scanner. Putting your hand in it, the scanner scanned your massive hand. The blue light was replaced with a green light signaling that its correct. Then, the next part however, was an eye test.

An eye test of what? You might ask yourself (To you guys ;): What the hell do you mean?

Well, it's not a standard eye scanning test. But it's the pointy version instead.

A metal rod came out of the wall at your eye level and stabbed your right eye and then your left.

Everyone cringed at the sight of your eyes getting stabbed by a four inch needle in both eyes. And also the way you reacted to it, which was no pain or even a grunt. What the hell? That's very freaky.

A little ding was heard and both scanners disguised itself as the wall again.

"Welcome, Forgemaster (Y/N) [REDACTED]."

Your last name was heavily censored with an ear piercing beep and the blue force field was gone. A click was heard, signaling that the door is ready to be opened.

"So he really is the real deal." Hazel muttered. Watts nodded in agreement.

"Uncle?" Torchwick asked in a hushed voice. Cinder and Neo noticed and looked at him with surprise.

"What the hell, man? What happened to you?!" Qrow asked with a hint of surprise and amusement.

'DAD?!' Winter thought as her assumptions are correct and shocked at what her biological father has become.

"Well, if it isn't the son of a bitch who saved me." General Ironwood said with a bit of nostalgia in his voice.

"..."

You slowly turn around, with you face down, and slowly lift your head up to glare at the group who has already turned silent.

"Are you... fucking serious? How did- how did you not know it was me? I literally told you my name when you both ran into each other!" You stammered at the absolute buffoonery you're witnessing. Salem struggled to keep up her stoic demeanor as she held a hand over her mouth to cover up her smile. Ozpin watched on as he pulled his signature infini-coffee cup out of nowhere and started to drink coffee from it.

Then a teasing giggle came out of nowhere, "Sweetie, I must admit. You haven't looked the same since I saw you." Salem said with a teasing smile on her face. For a moment, your heart shattered into a million pieces.

"...ouch..." You said as your face drooped like a kicked puppy.

"She's right, you know. Even I didn't recognize you." Ozpin admitted as he took a sip in his coffee cup that covered his smug grin.

"How?! HOW?! I'm not THAT old! Right, ladies?"

Matilda looks at you once before shying away from your desperate eyes. You look at Astrid and she smugly signed: 'Look at the mirror, old man :P'

Neo giggled and pulled out a mirror with your reflection on it.

The sudden betrayal made you stammer your words as you shakily point your fingers at her.

"W- Y- You- AHHHHHHH!!!!!" You shouted in frustration and kick the door open. Stomping down the stairs, blue torchlight lit up the entrance before the main lights lit up the armory. Like the force field, it was shining blue and spanned across the entire room. The mood immediately changed into one of awe and curiosity.

The first thing the group noticed was a big giant well in the middle of the room. It was filled with what seems like red liquid, but the liquid produced arcs of lightning that went in random directions. The second thing they noticed is that there was a giant, unfinished mech held by chains of lightning. The head and torso is intact, but the arms and legs remained scattered across the ground. Moving down to the main area near the well, they saw even more items that piqued their interests.

Weapons, armor, and technology much more advanced but yet looks medieval in style. The armor was bizarre to them. They were all painted in green or white and had this huge red "orb" that covers your heart. The helmets varied in different appearances. Some were familiar and some did not. The weapons, however, are a different story. Besides the normal looking weapons, there were swords and axes that looked incomplete.

Ozpin, the curious scholar that he once was. Picked up one that looked like a sword and began to analyze it. The cross guard of the sword was clamped together. The huge rain guard holds a symbol of some sort. Another language? A sign? It wasn't any pre-Remnant languages that he can remember. It was so foreign. Ozpin's grip on the sword got tighter and tried to swing it downwards, to imagine what this blade would be if it was finished.

Suddenly, a long blade shot out like a bullet as the cross guard split and became a sword. Ozpin almost dropped the thing out of surprise but held it tightly enough for him not to drop it. Imagine his surprise when he realized that the sword practically weighs nothing  as held it with one hand despite its ridiculously long blade.

"A plasma sword? Wait, is this a lightsa-?"

"No, it's not a lightsaber, Oz. Don't you dare. And put that shit away before you hurt anyone." You told Ozpin without looking directly at him. You grinned as you pulled out the reliable Delta IV Double Jump Boots. You quickly discarded your standard combat boots and equipped the double jump boots like the little kid you are.

'Hell yeah. Fits like a fucking condom.' You thought as you jumped and activated double jump. Now that will be useful in the long run.

"So this is were the legend keeps his fancy toys, huh? Ooh, what's this?" Tyrian asked as he found a huge looking battery. He tried carrying it, but it wouldn't budge. Then he tried to carry it with both hands, still wouldn't budge.

"Hey, Hazel. Mind if you help me with this?"

Hazel turns around and sees Tyrian struggling to carry a huge blue battery. Rolling his eyes, he tried carrying it with both hands, but he also didn't do anything to it at all.

"What the fuck is this?" Hazel muttered as he tried to move the Sentinel Battery an inch at best.

"Son of a bitch!" Hazel said as he kicked the battery out of frustration. The battery didn't budge but his ankle felt the force of his kick back fire on him. The tall, burly man got on one knee and held his (probably) sprained ankle. At this point, everyone looked and saw the commotion and Hazel had to explain that the battery is the cause of all this. Nobody believed him so they each attempted to lift the battery.

To no avail.

"What the fuck is in that thing..." Qrow asked, panting in between words.

"It's like we're trying to pull out The Sword out of its rock." Watts said.

"Oh! You found a Sentinel Battery! Thanks, guys!" You said as you squeeze your way in and picked up the battery with no effort at all.

Everyone looked at you in shock as you walk towards an empty, round podium and insert the battery inside a slot where the battery is supposed to go.

"SENTINEL BATTERY DETECTED. RESTORING FULL POWER." A mechanical voice announced as the low level blue lighting suddenly got brighter and more force fields have been deactivated, unlocking doors that led to other sections of the armory.

To everyone's surprise and horror, to the left and right of the giant, disassembled mech. Were two giants that were chained up and their heads facing down. Two giant humanoid Grimm being chained up and contained behind the force fields.

"(Y/N)?! What the hell is this?!" Ironwood demanded as he pointed at the Titans.

Salem and Ozpin dragged you somewhere around the corner and threw you against the wall.

"I thought you got rid of them both! Are you out of your fucking mind?!" Ozpin hissed with gritted teeth.

"I don't know if I should kiss you or slap you. I thought you killed our chi-" Salem said before hushing her with your finger.

"Don't." You said as you stare into her red eyes.

"Ugh... Why is it so bright in here?" A bellowing voice groggily asks as he lifts his head up.

"Bro... is that you?" Another one asked as he also lifts his head up to look around.

"We're still stuck in this damn awful place..."

"Someone restored the power to the forge... That means someone got in and got the power running.

The two brothers looked down and saw the Matilda and Astrid and the rest of the group except you and Salem looking at them.

"My, my. Just our luck. A bunch of stragglers that wandered into these halls." The first brother said as he looked at them all with a wide, jagged grin.

"You fool. Can't you see that Lady Matilda and Lady Astrid is in there, too?" The second brother chastised, pointing out the goddess' presence.

"Oh, my apologies. It's not like I got poked by a giant sword that made be blind by default. I can only sense their aura and that's it. However..."  The first brother trailed.

'He's blind?' Everyone thought as they looked at the first brother.

"I sense something... familiar inside that white haired girl. It's so fresh, and youthful, and it's a bit scared, but the fires within burns brighter than any light. Just like... him."

The first brother then dialed into Winter's aura. His assumptions are correct.

"You are right, brother. The woman in white and blue has this familiar aura around her. She is (Y/N)'s daughter by blood. She's also a Schnee, too. Not bad." The second brother said in excitement.

Winter's cheeks flushed at the Titan Grimm's statement. And everyone except for Matilda and Astrid scattered like Moses splitting the Dead Sea (which in this universe, he used a Beyblade to do it). Shock was the biggest understatement of this type of situation. It's a whole fucking scandal! Then Jacques isn't the father! Even Torchwick himself didn't know about it!

'If Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang aren't the only ones who are directly related to Uncle. Then who else is directly related to him?! That's too much to think about!'

Neo simply fans herself to prevent herself from fainting.

"How-how did you know about my father?" Winter stuttered. The first brother laughs and looks at her with a smile.

"How do you suppose we end up here? We fought him and we lost. We three are related after all. Speaking of which, should we call you sister, or should we call you niece? We are born from two different mothers after all." The second brother replied and asked his niece/sister (maybe both?).

...

Winter fell on her butt as she tried to process this information in her mind.

'I am related to... giant Grimm humans...'

'I am related to giant Grimm humans.'

'I AM RELATED TO GIANT GRIMM HUMANS.'

'I AM RELATED TO GIANT GRIMM HUMANS!!!'

"Hold the phone. Tell me if I'm wrong, if (Y/N) is your father. Then who is your mother!?!" Watts asked dramatically.

The two brothers looked at him with straight faces before laughing.

"Is it not obvious to you lots? It is the Queen of the Grimm herself, Salem." The second brother replied. Instantly:

Tyrian fainted on the spot.

Cinder began hyperventilating.

Watts' brain short circuited and fried itself.

Hazel's mind began to transcend beyond the living plane of existence.

"Our world is nothing but words that barely describes the level of shock we're in." He whispered.

"Oh? What's this? I sense another familiar aura as well. I think I know who this is!" The first brother asked as he tried to scan for the other familiar aura.

"This... this aura looks like Goodwitch's!"

"You're right, brother. This one is a Goodwitch. A very powerful one at that."

Goodwitch got flustered as the Titans spoke rather fondly of her, and that her impression of them were flipped upside down in the most ridiculously way possible.

"H-How... How did you even know me? I'm not directly tied to you or your father."

The second brother laughed at her question. The building shook from the laughing and stopped as the second brother looked at her in the eyes.

"Your ancestors took a small part in defeating us during The Great Stampede. One of them had a powerful Semblance that gave us brothers a hard time. And here we thought that our superior genetics gave us an advantage over everyone."

The melancholy in his eyes was present, despite their eyes only being only white and red.

"And that's why you're chained in this place for all eternity until this planet dies."

Everyone then turns to the sound of your voice. Scowling at the Grimm Titans, you point your finger at the oldest brother, Hyperion.

"I have enough of you spilling secrets about me. Your business is with me, not them." You told Cronus, the blind Titan Grimm.

"Well, if isn't our... ehm..."

The second brother awkwardly stares at you in confusion.

"Well, spit it out, Hyperion. If it isn't what?" You demanded.

"Father... your aura? Where is it? Where has it gone?" Cronus said with worry.

"Excuse me?"

"Your aura... I cannot sense it anymore. The great fire that once burn inside you has completely vanished."

Everyone's ears perked at that. The hunter legend has no aura? How come?

"BULLSHIT. You can't prove that." You told Cronus.

"Have you gone ignorant like us from long before? Like our mother, we can influence the Grimm to do our bidding. Even with our presence diminished, we can still control the Grimm without little effort. We saw your battle against the demons..."

Your eyes widen a little in surprise.

"You have no soul, Father. I am serious and I am concerned about what your goal is here."

Your brow furrows in anger. Why are they worrying about you now when they decided to turn the world into a fucking sorry mess?

"My goal here is to get rid of these fucking demons and live my life in peace. Forget about you bastards in this place."

"Dad! What are you saying?!" Winter asks as she stood up for her Grimm relatives. Their conversation already told her enough that they're good people despite their previous actions. Plus, she hadn't had a stable conversation with her siblings since she was working with General Ironwood.

"Stand down, Winter! You've already heard enough. That also applies to the rest of you." You said before looking at Cronus.

"I know why you are here, Father. You are getting desperate despite coming back to this world recently. There are not enough weapons in this armory to fully equip an army with its advanced technology. Resources are dwindling, people are dying, kingdoms are getting overwhelmed by the hordes of demons, and the structure of civilization is being torn apart in front of people's eyes. Hunters are now the saviors of humanity once more and Hunter academies are being pressured to produce competent and solid hunters to replenish the front lines. And most importantly, the Grimm threat is still at large. Humanity is fighting on two fronts and their losing the fight. So you came to us for help."

The room went silent and suddenly got intense. Nobody knows how to respond to Cronus. Let alone process the information that they were aware of the crisis this whole time.

"...Yes, I did come here to ask you two for help. Even I can't be everywhere at once. And I don't have the means to control or summon a Grimm army under my call. Yet. So here I am. Asking the most dangerous Grimm to ever exist in this forsaken planet to help defend what's last of humanity. So please, will you help this old sop once again?"

"..."

"..."

The Grimm Titans looked down and saw their father looking down on the ground. A frown etched across his face. They both looked at each other and nodded.

"We will help you, Father." Hyperion answered. Everyone was surprised and somehow relieved that these mighty beings are going to help them instead of killing them.

"But are you sure you want us to help you? You know the consequences of releasing us back into the world." Hyperion asked you again.

"What do you mean by that?" Ironwood asked the older brother.

"How should I say this? Well, we are just like that one giant octopus man that lives in the bottom of the ocean like in your fiction books: Cthulhu. When awaken, it is usually a sign that the world is ending. If the human population saw us now. Mass hysteria will ensue, and our influence will spread to them like a plague and Grimmification will rise again as a problem. That is the price of releasing us into the world again." Hyperion replied as he turns to look at you.

"Think about this, father. We both understand if you don't want out help right now, but the early advantage of having an unorthodox ally could help you increase the fighting chance humanity has in its current position. With the numbers bolstered, you can start retaking lost land and reestablish infrastructure for more production." Cronus argued.

Shit. They're both right. While the help is beneficial, it did create more problems for the people to handle. But you need more people to fight and more production to start making weapons and also food and water. There, you have two choices:

Release your Grimm Titan sons to aid you in your fight

-or-

Wait until the humans are at a standstill with the demons and call upon the Titans for support

(Remember people. Give me some juicy reasons why you pick that option. I need some answers.)
