Chapter V: Luna & Sol

A/N: I like this remake so far in terms of the story. I'm going to add more lore while chaos is doing its best to fuck up everyone. For those who liked the original, I'm gonna add some elements of comedy from it and put it into this one. Instead of random fillers, I'm just going to incorporate it right into the story because random fillers are... ugh. Anyways, just leave a comment on what you think about the story so far because I know some people like the original and I'd like to know what you like about it.

Twilight Island - 10 miles away from the coast of Vale - 2 miles away from the island of Patch

There it is. The sun sets, but the moon appears above him. The soft orange glow of the setting sun and the purplish hue of the sky felt comforting and you couldn't help but feel warm inside. The beautiful sight of the sun and moon chasing each other made it better for you. After all, you are currently standing in a balcony where a ruined temple stands and was built entirely for this view. And definitely was not a super secret HQ for some ancient secret society cult that dedicates itself to balancing the world by being good and evil all at the same time.

'They should be here by now.' You thought as you pull out your upgraded quad barreled shotgun and load some shells into it. Putting the gun inside your coat, you checked your watch and it's time to meet the two "gods" of this world. Ah, the sweet memories of simpler times where man, machine, and nature are one.

Your thoughts came to a sudden halt when gunshots echoed from the forest. You sighed in disappointment and jumped out of the balcony and landed on the solid rock foundation.

"I should've known they'd take the same path here." You said to yourself as you run towards the source of the fighting.

'Please don't kill each other. That's all I ask.'

"Well, if it isn't Ozpin and his gang of cronies. I'm not surprised to see you here."

Ozpin, with Glynda, Qrow, Atlas' general, Ironwood, and the eldest Schnee, Winter. They met Salem's Inner Circle along with two criminal masterminds, Torchwick and Neo. The two groups managed to bump into each other in a spacious opening where no grass and no trees grew.

"I could say the same to you, Salem."

Salem glared at Ozpin. Her patience running thin as he glared back at her.

"Why are you here, Ozpin? I thought you hated this place."

"Times have changed, Salem. Not only this planet but us, as well. We are not the same person we once knew centuries ago."

Salem's glare softens but still kept its intimidating appearance.

"Change? You preach the word about changes of the mind and heart but you never changed at all. You're still the same Ozma I met all those years ago. Brash and stupid."

"Eat your words. You never left that stupid castle since the day you turned into an abomination. Hiding away behind hordes of Grimm to defend a title that nobody knows anymore!"

"At least I don't hold old grudges against people I hate. You on the other hand," Salem stopped as she grins smugly at the angry grey haired man.

"You fucking bi-" Ozpin said before Ironwood shot two rounds into the air with his .50 Cal Desert Eagle with his robotic arm. Everyone drew their weapons, ready to throw themselves into the onslaught that will turn into a bloody mess in any second.

Ironwood sighs and shakes his head in disapproval.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, these two are the gods of light and darkness. Destined to keep the order of balance by bickering each other to the death. "Ironwood said sarcastically. Everyone glared at him for disrespecting their respective sides, but he ignored them all and continued to speak.

"Look, I don't give a single shit about your drama, Ozpin. But I'm here because you said that we're meeting someone that can end the demon threat and restore this balance you're talking about." He said in a tired tone before looking at the people in the opposing side.

"I bet she said the same thing to you, eh?" Ironwood asked as he looked into Cinder, Tyrian, Hazel, Torchwick and Neo.

"And what of it, general?" Torchwick asked with spite.

"And what of it? Look, Roman. Your whole Dust Operation can go die in a fucking fire when there's hundreds of thousands of people being used as fucking ornaments or being turned into zombies. I don't care about the Grimm and I don't care about the rumors of a revolution in Atlas that will overthrow the goddamn monarch. Why? Because if we don't take care of those motherfuckers that barged into this land to kill everything. Then please fuck off and be useless somewhere else. Or turn into demon food. I don't care either way."

Everyone blinked in shock at the general as he pulls out a cigar and a lighter and sat on a flat rock behind him.

"You two are an embarrassment to him. Imagine his reactions if he saw you arguing like this instead of actually doing something with your powers. He'll probably beat you back to back until you get the message." He said as he lights up his cigar.

"You're right, Ironwood. I'll beat them up real good for what they did to this place." A voice behind the trees agreed.

Everyone jumped at the unknown voice and the one's who knew that voice went stiff and deathly silent. Out of primal instinct, Winter and Qrow pointed their weapons at the trees with fear in their eyes.

"Put your weapons down, soldier. Didn't they tell you not to flag friendlies back in basic?" Asked the voice as rustling began getting closer and closer to where they are.

'This can't be real. That voice!' Both Salem and Ozpin thought.

Salem tried to deny the feeling that you were in this island, but she wasn't prepared for this. At all.

Coming out of the shrubbery, was you. Black coat, black cargo pants, black boots, a classic outfit of yours back in the day. Your quad barrel on one hand and ready to fire. You haven't gathered your full arsenal yet, but personal business has to go first.

Qrow and Winter dropped their weapons as they both stared at you as if they saw a ghost. None dared to move as they tried to reason with themselves. Are you a ghost? A spirit? An apparition? Or a fragment of himself that he left behind?

Obviously, it's none of them. But they kept on denying. The prospect of you being alive is too much.

"There's no way you're him!" Ironwood got up and aimed his DE at you.

"But I am." You said to him calmly.

"Bullshit! There's no way that you're alive! We tried to get your body out of Mt. Glenn but those demon fuckers massacred everyone in that damned city!"

"Yes, the city is dead. But I was awoken many months later, after the city's destruction. The demons have set up gore nests in the ruins of the city and I had to destroy them before they turned it into a super gore nest."

Ironwood didn't like that answer and slowly squeezed the trigger.

"Again, bullshit! The exits have been sealed off by concrete! How did you get out of there without drilling your way through?!"

You let out a toothy grin at the already panicked general. Oh, their gonna hate this.

"I had help. Ladies! You can come out now!" You replied to Ironwood before calling out someone behind you.

In a flash of blinding light, the reincarnation of life and death appeared right beside you. Most backed off at the sight of the two goddess' appearing out of nowhere.

Salem and Ozpin went dread to existential dread and then anger. They thought the minor gods such as Matilda and Astrid had died out during the early years of the invasion due to their weak and incompetent powers to fight off the battle hungry, flesh eating, and soul tearing monsters that want nothing more than to inflict pain. (Definitely not mad out of spite because the two got him out of there)

"Oh yeah, and I need one thing from you, Ozzy." You said before bringing your hand forward. Everyone except for the two goddess' were confused until Ozpin's right coat pocket began shaking. A small blade then cut through the fabric of coat pocket and flew right into your hands (the grip went straight into your hands, not the blade. If so, then the blade would've crushed itself).

"I know all of you have questions, but now's not the time for such things. Beyond this field, is a temple where a great order once used as its HQ. Don't worry, it won't take long."

You snapped your fingers at Astrid. She looks at you with a smile and nodded. Not long after, Astrid snaps her fingers twice. And before anyone could comprehend what happened. A flash of blinding light enveloped the group before disappearing without a trace.
