Chapter 3: Rage

"If I get assigned to clear out a Gore Nest, then count me out. Hell, I'll go AWOL if I want to. I don't want to go near those damn nightmare fuels. The way it screams when you pull the heart out sickens me to my stomach. And I hate cleaning off guts off my damn boots. At least the Grimm are polite enough to become dust when they die." -  From an unknown Atlas Soldier

Even with the addition of the Unholy double barrel and the Displacer Gauntlets. There's not enough firepower to get rid off the demons present in the area without bringing much attention of other Kingdoms and other minor deities. Matilda and Astrid wants your presence to be as little as possible. Going berserk to get rid off the Nests will stir Remnant into a race to find you.

But that might be the only choice you got. Because the longer you stay in this city, the more irritated and angry you become. You just want to get out of here and at least eat something.

But THEY had to come here and ruin EVERYTHING. Again. You would've been fine if there was another Colossal Grimm threatening to squash everything in its path, but it had to be the worse option. And it's a bad time to fight them.

All multiverse communications were cut off the last time you were awake. That means you can't call for out of universe support. Plus, SHE isn't here with you. You hope she's okay, despite everything that happened. You hoped that she has come to terms with it.

Your mind went back to the reality of your situation. Guns. Blood. Guts. Demons. Rip and Tear. Until it is done.

Already running out of ammo, you store away your double barrel and began punching them instead. Kicks, elbow strikes, knee strikes. It doesn't matter, as long as you got the job done. With each strike, your anger and rage becomes stronger. They were getting much easier to tear apart. Limbs flying off and heads getting crushed, his brutal attacks were becoming a trademark of his, almost identical to someone else's method.

But it got the job done, the demons screeched in hatred, some of them were backing off, not wanting to risk their lives just to die in his hands. After all, it was better to die with a mouth full of lead than be torn from limb to limb by a very angry man. A smile spreads across your face. This was the life you were meant to live, you remembered why you like the demons coming to you. So that you can look at their pitiful faces before tearing their heads off their bodies.

But what about your family?

Now that made you hesitant, for a moment at best.

Where is Little Rose? Your talking raven? Ice Queen? Even little Mrs. Fortune?

Your mind travelled back to distant memories. Did they have children? Are they my children? Do they know about me? If not, how will they take it when I'm their father?

Did they even move on?

These questions consumed your mind. Your punches got heavier and heavier and heavier each time your mind racks up more questions. Until you swung behind you, and stopped midway as soon as Matilda came into your vision. Her eyes widen as she looked at your fists, centimeters away from hitting her face. You felt the guilt clawing on your mind, so much so that you kneeled down to catch your breath. The Avatar of Death put a hand over your back and started to rub in circles as she kneels down to his level.

"Hey, it's not your fault. You were caught up on killing the bastards. I shouldn't have gone near you." She apologized, but you wave her off.

"NO. It's my fault, all of it. It was my fault for not keeping a cap over my anger... I wasn't caught up on the killing, you know..." You replied. Matilda's head tilted to the right, curious about what could've gotten a hold on you.

"Then what were you thinking? What are you caught up about?" She asked innocently.

You looked at her with a pained expression, with your teeth gritting.

"The family that I left behind."

Matilda and Astrid looked at each other worriedly. They didn't need to know who he was talking about.

"I was just wondering what happened after my life "ended". So many questions kept piling up that I was left in autopilot this whole time. Did they have kids? My kids? Do they know who their father is? How will they take it when they learned that their father is a god-like being? I don't want them to think that I ruined their lives. I just want them to-"

SLAP

Matilda slapped you square in the cheeks. The slapped stung a little, not because of the pain, but the guilt that is sinking into your skin.

She then forced your head to turn towards her.

"Calm down." She said softly. "We're all in this together. Just one more time, and maybe we could talk to my brothers about it. About letting you go. For once in my life, I yearn for some hard earned rest. And I'd like to have it spent with you and my sister."

You looked at her with wide eyes. Realizing that you have her and the others. Your worries wavered at least a little bit. You may be a nigh unstoppable force of pure rage and hate, but you have families to take care off. No one wants to be the absent father, with the exception of being forced to leave them behind by sleeping in a cold stone bed.

Getting up, you exhaled and looked around the mess you made. Like always, blood and guts and spent shotgun shells laid waste around the battlefield. Turning around, you walked past the two goddess and made your way to the only sealed exit in Glenn.

~~~~
On your way to the sealed exit, you and your team were ambushed by Prowlers, which ended in another bloodbath and your blood boiling from repressed memories.
(Which were your townspeople being dragged off into the wasteland by Gargoyles and Prowlers looking for some quick and easy meal.)
By the time you got to the huge concrete wall, it was nighttime, and Astrid spawned a couple of wisps to light up the tunnel. You looked at the tall wall of grey stone, remembering that there is a mile of this blocking the tunnel.
"Am I going to punch my way through miles of concrete just to get to the other side?" You asked Matilda with a straight face. Her reply however was a chuckle and her head shaking.
"No," She told him. "There is a rift that can teleport us to the other side. But we changed the rift's exit portal to the outside world so that we don't have to walk the rest of the tunnel."
You nodded. Sounds reasonable.
Astrid lifted her hand towards the concrete wall, opening the rift to the outside world.
"It's opened. Let's move." Matilda said before shrieks and screaming came into earshot.
Turning around, they saw a swarm of fifteen Lost Souls flying towards them. Not only that, Pain Elementals, Cacodemons, and three Tyrants cornering you.
You scoffed and spit at the ground. You turn your back towards Astrid and Matilda, ready to fire on any demons dumb enough to get close.
"You two go ahead and use the portal. Make sure that anything other than me is killed when they get to the other side." You said as you pop your knuckles. The two nodded grimly before exiting the portal. Now turning your back again to the demons, you clench your fist and smiled.
"Let's tango, you ugly motherfuckers."
~~~~

Half an hour later, you came out of the portal. Bloody and in need of some new clothes. Matilda and Astrid looked away flustered and embarrassed as soon as they saw you.

Meanwhile, you were in some sort of dazed state when you looked at Matilda and Astrid. Does Berserk make you feel like you're stoned? Well, that feeling went away quickly and saw the two goddesses looking away from you.

"What are you guys looking at?" You asked them both in the most monotone voice. You could practically see their faces glowing red.

"How could you say that with such a straight face?" Matilda said in a flustered tone.

Astrid tried looking back, but immediately regretted it and covered her eyes with one hand before urgently pointing down below your waist. Before you looked down, you felt a gust of wind blowing to your right, making your balls sway to the right as well. You instantly looked down and saw that your genitals is completely covered in demon blood, but offered no protection against the environment.

Just like old times, you thought. Just like old times.

"Hey, you've seen me like this before, Why are you so flustered about seeing me like this now?" You teased as you walked closer to them. They both looked back and noticed that you were getting near.

Two kicks was enough to put you down. Even though it didn't hurt you, the nerves on your stomach and legs sent out alarms throughout your body to just sit down, and don't get up.

Don't worry, you told to yourself. Their going to have the best night they have in over twenty years. Right after you wash yourself.

Now this is where the fun begins.

(A/N): I'm satisfied with what I have right now. The intro arc is short. Focused one
