Ruby: When She Realizes Her Feelings

Y/N was currently in his room writing in the journal of his. Knowing that something can happen in this line of work he decided to do so in the event of memory loss or remember what happened in general.

These past few months have been great! Made friends with the members in Team RWBY and JNPR, but then there is Ruby Rose. She is my first friend in this academy and the one that I grew particularly fond of. Hanging with Ruby has been great! She even got me my very own cloak so I baked her some cookies. Weiss was a tad bit angry at me as that meant she had to deal with a hyper Ruby. Though people could say that I basically like the girl. Now the thing is what if it fails? Things will go awkward and then I may be in the situation I was before.

Anyhow some odd things happened down the line like when they found out I was related to Ozpin. More accurately that he was one of my uncles. They asked why I never said anything about it and in my defense they never went in my visits. That did not stop the old man from acting hurt from this. I swear I saw that smug smile behind his coffee mug. Let's see how he really looks when I make one cookie that has too much salt for him. Maybe I will need my coffee mug when I do that. Wait I feel that my scroll is vibrating. It says something of lunch so I guess this is all. Probably should not have wrote that or this but oh well.

Y/N arriving at the cafeteria gets his tray and sits in his usual spot, next to Ruby. While he wasn't looking Ruby sneaked quick glances at
at Y/N and he did it as well. Blake noticing a pattern, taps Yang and secretly points it out. Yang nods and points it out to Weiss. Lunch ended and Y/N needed to go as he needed to ask something of JNPR. Something that has been on his mind lately.

Y/N: See you all later. Gotta talk to JNPR.

Yang: Cya later.

Blake: Bye Y/N.

Weiss: Bye.

Ruby: Bye. I'll miss you.

Y/N: Bye Ruby.

Despite saying their byes the two stared at one another for a little too long.

Weiss: Ahem. I thought you said you had a team to meet.

Y/N: Sorry, guess I spaced out.

Parting ways Y/N went to JNPR's room while Team RWBY their own room. The three had some questions for Ruby.

Blake: (closes door) Why didn't you tell that you like Y/N?

Yang: Hey! That was my part. I thought we were sisters Ruby.

Ruby: Y/N and I...are just really good friends.

Blake: (flips page from book) You paused.

Ruby: Weiss, back me up.

Weiss: Ruby, you know this is not my forte but even I can see the way you interact with each other.

Blake: You two have been inseparable lately. There was going to his room a lot.

Ruby: Y/N might be lonely. He is after all a one man team as he was late.

Blake: And the constant insistence on races after finding out he has a speed semblance?

Ruby: Who doesn't like races?

Blake: Didn't he throw a few races?

Yang: Oh yeah. Y/N said he just tripped on a pebble.

Ruby: Rocks is the bane of me while running. One second you're fine and the next bam! I'm on the floor.

Blake: (flips page) This isn't mentioning how you're really insistent. Then it usually leads to you being gone for the evening.

Weiss: The cloak you gifted him?

Ruby: Uh...I got nothing.

Yang: (puts an arm around Ruby) Ruby, you caught a case of the feelings. The solution is confession.

Ruby: But what if he doesn't like me?

Yang: Who wouldn't? And if he doesn't, well we can always make him.

Blake: Yeah don't do that.

Yang: Fine. Look we also saw how Y/N was staring at you also. When you looked at his direction he looked away so you won't catch him staring.

Ruby: (a bit too excitedly) Really!

Weiss: It was hard not to notice once one of us noticed. Now I'm going to be sure with my stethoscope.

Yang: Why do you have one?

Weiss: It doesn't hurt to be prepared.

Blake: Why do we need to when we just went through this talk?

Weiss: Because this is a serious thing. Yang, since you are apparently the love doctor you check.

Yang put the stethoscope to Ruby's heart and began to listen to it.

Weiss: Now think of Y/N.

Yang: (hears Ruby's heart beat faster) Okay,  you either love Y/N or... you somehow have a heart disease.

Ruby: What?!

Yang: Kidding, so based on my professional opinion granted by this stethoscope I say you do love Y/N.

Weiss: Did you really have to do that? Might as well get a second opinion.

Blake: If you insist I will do it.

Weiss: I was only kidding.

Yang: C'mon you might learn about it when you like someone.

Weiss: (groans) I don't think that's how it works. Fine. You know there is something seriously wrong with this team.

Yang: What?

Weiss: We went through all that.

Ruby: But it was your idea.

Weiss: Yes, and you all are an influence on me.

Blake: That's disputable. Personally I think we influenced you for the better.

While they all nod much to Weiss displeasure Y/N finally arrived at JNPR's room with some pancakes and knocks on it.

Nora: (opens door) Do you have tribute for the queen?

Y/N: (kneels) I hope these pancakes shall suffice my grace.

Nora: They shall.

Pyrrha: You know Y/N you don't have to do that every time you go in our room.

Y/N: It's no biggie. Besides I find it amusing.

Ren: So what brings you here?

Y/N: You have known Team RWBY longer than I.

Pyrrha: (teasingly) Does this involve how you would say a certain Rose?

Y/N: (nervously) What do you mean?

Ren: Ah yes.

Y/N: (looks to Jaune)

Jaune: Don't look at me. I'm just finding out right now.

Pyrrha: Why not use simply use your baking skills? Right Ren?

Ren: Yes. Ruby is to cookies like Nora is to pancakes.

Nora: (nods head while chewing)

Y/N: Jaune, anything to add?

Jaune: No. They all have this handled, but I could always offer my emotional support.

Y/N: I'll keep you up to that. Well thanks.

Ren: No problem. It is a pleasure helping a friend in need.

Leaving Y/N was wondering what to bake but Ozpin stops him. I know what you're about to do Y/N.

Y/N: How?!

Ozpin: My brother asked to keep an eye on you especially the period in which you were at your lonesome.

Y/N: Then my dad would know that I have friends.

Ozpin: Oh believe me when I say he does.

Y/N: I know Ruby likes cookies but that does seem kinda obvious.

Ozpin: Hmmm. Quite the conundrum but I suggest you should try your new baked good. You know the one Glynda absolutely loved.

Y/N: Thanks Uncle.

Ozpin: Now run along. As this is confirmed I need to tell Glynda and your father.

Y/N: Why?

Ozpin: We need something to talk about. If you can do it by tomorrow it would be greatly appreciated.

Y/N: Why by tomorrow?

Ozpin: Your father and I may have had a bet. You see it would be when happen. Now if it is done by tomorrow I will owe you.

Y/N: I don't know. Seems like it's rushing it.

Ozpin: How about this, I'll cancel classes for tomorrow?

Y/N: Wouldn't that be taking advantage of your position as headmaster?

Ozpin: Yes but I'm sure Glynda does need a break. You all do a number on her you know. Now I'll need your scroll on when it happens as to prove it to your father.

Y/N: What is on the line anyways?

Ozpin: Bragging rights. A tale as old as time itself.

Weiss: When She Realizes Her Feelings

At the moment Y/N was walking down to his sister's room with Ruby eight behind him.

Ruby: What's with the plant?

Y/N: Nothing.

Ruby: Well is it a weapon?

Y/N: What's with the questions? And unless I find a way to make photosynthesis a weapon then no.

Ruby: Well you know this isn't like you so I thought it might have a certain purpose. Who is it for?

Y/N: You better not tell Yang what I'm about to tell you. Promise?

Ruby: A twin's promise.

Y/N: I don't think that's real. Ruby, I know how you are with pinky swears.

Ruby: (pinky swears) There happy?

Y/N: Let me see your hand.

Ruby: I'm not crossing it.

Y/N: It's for Weiss. I heard that she wanted to liven up the room so I bought a bonsai tree.

Ruby: That's odd. I know you two have been with each other but there was those fights you two had. You don't call her ice princess. Then again you call Weiss the other names we told you. Hmmm. What could it be?

Y/N: Do I have to spell it to you myself or will detective Ruby crack the mystery?

Ruby: Hold up, hold up. Give me some time.

Y/N: You do that dear sister of mine but I'm going to need a favor. Can you get Yang and Blake busy?

Ruby: What do I get?

Y/N: You can't do it out of the goodness of your heart?

Ruby: (stares at Y/N)

Y/N: Yeah, you're right. I wouldn't have done it either, so when I make me some muffins I'll make you cookies.

Ruby: Deal.

Y/N: Now go and do what you do best.

With Ruby out the way to go distract the two teammates while snuck into the room. Weiss, looking at herself in a mirror, fell on the floor as she was startled by Y/N appearing.

Weiss: Next time knock you dunce.

Y/N: (helps Weiss up) Sorry Snow Angel.

Weiss: What's begins your other hand? You have something don't you?

Y/N: Yes, but close your eyes.

Weiss: Why?

Y/N: Please for me.

Weiss: (closes eyes) Fine, but only because it is you.

Y/N places down the bonsai tree right in front of Weiss but heard that the door was opening. He didn't want to get caught and face possibly Yang. Panicking he teleports himself into the shadows and leaves immediately.

Blake opens the door. The noise causes Weiss to open her eyes only to see the gift in front of her but Y/N gone, nowhere to be seen.

Blake: Do you need a moment?

Weiss: Yes please.

Blake: I'll be waiting outside the room.

With the door closing Weiss looked at the tree in front of her. It was rather beautiful even by her standards. Looking at the plant in marvel she sees the tag.

Y/N's message: His name is Planty. From your favorite Thorn :)

Weiss: That stupid, handsome eyed dunce. He just had to use the nickname I called him when he annoyed me. Wait what did I just say?

Blake: I believe you said, stupid, handsome eyed dunce. Emphasis on the handsome.

Weiss: Were you listening?

Blake: Remember my hearing? Even then I didn't need it.

Weiss: Well you can open the door.

Blake: May I ask what was that about?

Weiss: Well the cat is out of the bag so read the message.

Blake: Really?

Weiss: Sorry.

Blake: From your favorite Thorn huh, so you like Y/N or something.

Weiss: Maybe, I don't know.

Blake: Well I will tell you this. Y/N is clearly putting in an effort so don't think of it as the other times someone tried wooing you.

Weiss: You are right Blake. Maybe there is something here.

Blake: Just he glad it wasn't Yang talking to you. Ruby, had to put all her effort into her, so she told me and I figured you might need some help.

Weiss: Thank you Blake.

Blake: Good. Planty. Sounds kinda dumb.

Weiss: Hey! I think that Y/N gave it a sweet name even if it's unorthodox and even slightly stupid if you ask me.

Blake: Well there is your answer Weiss. You defended Y/N regardless of his decision.

Weiss: H-How?

Blake: Let's just say that I was in love once.
