Ruby: How You Became Friends

Team RWBY was walking to the cafeteria as it was dinner time. Ruby, walking past some of the dorms suddenly stop as she starts to sniff the air trying to find where a smell is coming from.

Weiss: What is she doing?

Yang: You know how we have five senses?

Blake: Are you implying that-

Yang: Yup, she smells cookies. A sixth sense.

Weiss: But that's smell.

Yang: No, but I feel sorry for whoever's room she is about to barge in.

Blake: Shouldn't you stop your sister?

Yang: I could but I am hungry and she can handle herself.

They all knew better not to try to stop her so they left. Ruby finally found the source of the aroma and then barges into what is your own room. You were startled as a random person just ran into your room.

Ruby: (points) You!

Y/N: Me? What did I do?

Ruby: Yes you. You're that person who gave me that bag of cookies.

Y/N: Well who wouldn't? It did look like your life was about to end.

Ruby: Well you never told me your name. I'm Ruby Rose by the way.

Y/N: Y/N L/N. How did you know this was my room by the way?

Ruby: I didn't know but I smelled something delicious.

Y/N: Ah, so that's why. Well your nose didn't trick you as I'm in fact making some cookies. You could have some if you want. I can't eat all of them. 

Ruby struggled to contain her excitement but looking around she saw none.

Ruby: I don't see them.

Y/N: They're cooling down at the moment so you might want to make yourself comfortable.

Ruby went to a chair. She looks around only
to notice everything seems normal except the one bed. No others in sight.

Ruby: Sooo...do you have teammates? I don't see any other beds.

Y/N: Sadly no. I just know some people. You see I was late as I was terribly sick during the start of the year. Caught something awful and wasn't here at the start.

Ruby: Oh...

Ruby was unsure how to respond. She herself knew that she could've been like him if not for her team. Ruby's thought were interrupted as Y/N continued his talk. He was fiddling with his fingers as it progressed unsure what to do.

Y/N: Anyhow to end that I'm thinking about joining a marksmanship club.

Ruby: You have a sniper rifle? Can I see it? Please, please.

Y/N: Right behind you but it's dissembled. A part isn't working.

Ruby gets up and went to your desk, peering over the weapon and its parts. Y/N walks up to Ruby.

Y/N: It uses 7.62x51 mm ammunition. Well I think the cookies are cooled by now. You can grab as much as you want and go.

You went back to a chair, sighing to yourself. Ruby quickly goes up and grabs some cookies but as she was about to leave she stops in her tracks. She went back to that same thought of how she could of went herself.

Ruby: Hey Y/N.

Y/N: Yeah?

Ruby: Do you want to go and hang out with my team and I?

Y/N: Really?

Ruby: Yeah! We can even be sniper buddies!

Y/N: Your weapon is a sniper also?

Ruby: Yes.

With that Ruby took a bite into a cookie and feels her mouth explode with flavor. She then ate the rest of hers in quick succession much to your curiosity as to how she did that. Ruby, looks back to the rest of the cookies. You saw how she was slightly drooling and was having a hard time to stop herself from taking them.

Y/N: Go grab the rest.

Ruby: Thank you. (zooms and returns back)

Y/N: Was it really that good?

Ruby: Yes. I can really taste the cookie in it.

Y/N: What does that even mean?

Ruby: No time to explain. We have to go as Yang is probably worried about me.

Ruby then grabs your arm and then uses her semblance to quickly make it to the cafeteria. You were on the floor as Ruby suddenly stops  trying to get your bearings.

Weiss: Ruby, would you care to explain who you dragged to our table?

Blake: And it looks like he is a bit dazed.

Ruby: Team meet Y/N L/N. Y/N meet Blake, Weiss, and Yang.

Yang: Was this the person you were talking about?

Ruby: Yes. Wait where are the others?

Blake: Something about work.

Weiss: What took you so long anyways?

Ruby: Well...Y/N. Do you want to say?

Y/N: (gets up, sitting next to Ruby) Okay. It all started with some cookies.

Weiss: How You Became Friends

Y/N was in his room doing homework while enjoying his faithful muffin but all that went down the drain as he received a call.

Y/N: Who's this?

Ruby: It's Ruby, your sister. How do you not know it's me?

Y/N: I didn't bother looking at the name as I'm eating my muffin.

Ruby: Well come to the library. Weiss will need your help.

Y/N: Wouldn't Blake be a better choice for help on homework or studying?

Ruby: We're playing Remnant: The Game. Yang might win.

Y/N couldn't respond as he remembered the last match he had. He lost thirty thousand in his last match and it was all thanks to Yang. The consequences costed him the match.

Ruby: Y/N? Y/N?

Y/N: What is the state of the game?

Ruby: Well all of my Atlas forces are kinda dead right now. Yang's giant nevermore just killed them. She is helping Weiss.

Y/N: Why would you let her influence Weiss She will lure her into a trap. Wait isn't she a new player also?

Ruby: It sounded like a good idea at the time.

Y/N: I'm coming (hangs up and leaves).

Y/N used Shadow's Cloak to quickly traverse to the library. He could've walked but he did not have the time. That and he wasted time as he had to go back for his muffin.

Y/N: (appears) What's happening?

Blake: Ruby, is practically loosing on all her fronts and is on the defensive. Resorting to some heavy conscription.

Ruby: (sadly) All adults have to serve.

Weiss: Unlike your dear sister I'm actually going to win and on my first game.

Weiss says it with an over flatted confidence. You knew full well that one wrong move can effectively devastate a player.

Y/N: And how?

Weiss: Yang said that Vacuo warriors have
an endurance against Natural-based hazards and the sandstorm will allow me to infiltrate her kingdom.

Y/N: Hey Yang so doesn't that move look awfully familiar? Like it's been done before.

Yang: I don't know what you're talking about.

Y/N: You know what fully I'm talking about. I never forgot!

Blake: Something is telling me there is more to this.

Ruby: You have no idea.

Yang: Don't you dare Y/N.

Y/N: My thirty thousand. I was this close to conquering Remnant. Vacuo became wiped off the face of the map.

Ruby: He was one move away.

Blake: (nods) That does sound bad.

Y/N: That's not all. My population decided to start a civil war as they wanted peace through any means. Of course I disagreed.

Ruby: We were playing all night.

Y/N: Weiss, I have to ask don't you think it is odd how Yang is being too friendly. Catch my drift?

Weiss: I guess that makes sense.

Y/N: Don't send in your whole army. Use the chance to send in the special reconnaissance teams. By the looks of it if it comes down to it you can wait this out and lay siege to her. She can't handle it. Vale is amassing troops near her border so she needs a quick victory.

Weiss: Okay, I'm going to trust you on this. I send in my special reconnaissance teams.

One look at Yang and you could tell she looks defeated. Her plan ruined and now she had to explain how the action went.

Yang: Well it looks like Weiss's units found and neutralized my trap card. Coupled with
the sandstorm her army is now free to enter undetected and take my kingdom by the next turn. Whoop de doo.

The next part was unexpected as Weiss began to laugh in a maniacal manner.

Weiss: Yes! Fear the almighty power of my forces! Cower as they pillage your homes and weep as they take your children from your very arms!

Yang: Huh. Who would of thought.

Blake: I'm not sure how I should feel about this.

Y/N realized what Blake meant given her last name. Yeah given the precedent this doesn't look good.

Ruby: Yeah Weiss you're kinda taking the game a bit too seriously. I mean if it weren't for Y/N you would've loss.

Weiss: Well he will serve as a great ally for my ever expanding empire.

Blake: It's official Weiss is now power hungry.

With that said despite both Blake and Ruby teaming up it was a one sided battle with Y/N becoming an advisor.
