(Y/n) POV

I have been at Beacon Academy for several months and I think, like quite a few people, I have fallen in love with Weiss Schnee. However, my problem is that I'm too scared to talk to her. I mean Weiss and I have had friendly small talk several times before, but I was too nervous to talk any longer than that.

Barry: You're staring again.

I break out of my trance and grow a blush and try to play it off.

(Y/n): I-I have no idea what your talking about.

Rick: Let's see, long white hair, ice blue eyes, wears a dress into battle, any of this jog your memory?

Ned: Come on dude, just go over there and ask Weiss out on a date already!

(Y/n): Why. She doesn't even like me that way anyway.

Ned: Only one way to find out.

Ned gets up and drags me over to the lunch table that team RWBY is sitting at. Much to my protests to get away from the situation.

Weiss POV

Unbeknownst to (Y/n), I overheard the conversation and I'll admit (Y/n) is a really nice guy, always offering to help me with anything even if he didn't know how to do something. He is also really handsome to look at, his short (H/C) hair, his (E/C) eyes are mesmerizing, he is also well built, not too brawny but not lean either. I've seen him in combat too, against the Grimm he is relentless, against people, he will always offer them a chance to surrender and spare their lives. He is honestly an inspiration. For a weapon he uses a flail and heater shield, as well as wearing a mix of leather and metal plate armor. As I am listening to Ruby and Yang bickering again, I hear from a little further down the table...

Ned: Come on dude, just go over there and ask Weiss out on a date already!

I look over and I see team (Y/n)BRN members poking friendly fun at (Y/n) as he gets nervous. I always found his shy side pretty cute in comparison to his battle mindset. Blake then gets my attention.

Blake: You know you're staring right.

Weiss: *blushes* No, I'm not.

Yang: Oh, Weiss has a crush.

Weiss: No I don't *blushes harder* (Y/n) and I are just friends.

Yang: That's not what you said last night while you were sleeping.

Wiess: Shut up.

Blake: Come on Weiss. You know you both like each other, just ask him out already and save us the headache.

Weiss: I don't know guys.

Ruby: Well here's your chance, cause here he comes now.

I quickly turn around and see Ned dragging (Y/n) to our table, and (Y/n) is trying to escape. I couldn't help but giggle a little at this. (Y/n) is then pushed towards me and he starts getting really nervous and stutters a bit.

(Y/n): H-Hello, W-Weiss. H-How are you t-today?

Weiss: *giggles* I'm doing well. How about yourself?

(Y/n): I-I'm doing g-good. *sigh* S-So, I wanted to k-know if y-you would like t-to g-go t-to dinner this w-weekend with me?

Weiss: I actually have a small mission with Ruby Friday afternoon.

(Y/n) looks down and starts to turn away, and I quickly grab his hand and finish my thought.

Weiss: But, we can definitely go out when I get back and maybe have a beach picnic?

(Y/n): *surprised* Uh, yeah definitely. I'll see you Friday evening then?

Weiss: Yes.

We go our separate ways and I got ready for my mission and date on Friday and I guess I sucked at hiding, because Yang walked in and smirked.

Yang: Someone's happy about being asked out, finally.

Weiss: (Y/n) is a really nice guy, I'll give him a chance.

Yang: Come on Ice Queen, admit it you are totally falling for him.

Weiss: Nevermind that now, let's get ready for our mission Ruby.

Ruby: Right, I've got your back, BFF!

Weiss: No.

Timeskip 2 Days Later

Ruby and I are near a cave next to a river looking for a missing student, we move into the cave and find the student with a broken leg. I quickly make a splint for him and we get him up, when we feel a rumbling inside the cave.

Weiss: RUBY GET OUT!

I push Ruby and the student out of the cave, before a giant boulder lands in front of me and blocks the entrance. I then hear Ruby's voice from outside the cave.

Ruby: WEISS! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?!

Weiss: Yeah, I'm ok, but I'm trapped!

Ruby: Don't worry, I'll get you out of there!

Weiss: Ruby, you need to get the student back to Beacon! Go get help, I'll be ok!

Ruby: Fine! Stay here!

Weiss: DUH!

(Y/n) POV

I am walking through the courtyard with my team when I see Ruby run up to me with a scared look on her face.

Ruby: (Y/N)!

(Y/n): Ruby, what is it?

Ruby: It's Weiss! She's trapped in a cave!

I then get worried myself, I break myself out of the initial shock and just start running after Ruby towards the cave, forgetting about my shyness. We get to the cave and it is raining very heavily, meaning the river is rising and flooding the surrounding area. I see the cave and grab a large log jump into the water and swim towards the boulder, I reach it and lodge the log in between the boulder and the cave and yell out.

(Y/n): WEISS!

Weiss: (Y/N)?!

I start trying to move the log as leverage to move the boulder, but the flood is continuing to rise.

Weiss POV

I am pushing against the boulder but the water is rising in the cave and I am losing traction. As the water rises, I can't help push anymore and try to make an opening so maybe I can breath a little longer. I then hear (Y/n) from outside the cave.

(Y/n): Weiss, hold onto me!

I feel his hand and take hold of it and I feel a little better, but he is suddenly pulled from my grip and I start to panic as the water completely fills the cavern forcing me under water.

(Y/n) POV

I am pulled underwater by 2 pliosaur looking Grimm, they circle me as I float there underwater. one of them charges me and I can't defend myself and get hit hard, as I recover the other comes from the other direction and body slams me. I recover just in time to kick one of them in the face giving me time to go back to the surface and breath. I gasp for air and Ruby gets my attention.

Ruby: (Y/n), behind you!

I look back and see the Grimm and dive back under water, I look at them then the cave and I get an idea. I lure the Grimm by swimming to the log I was using and wait for the Grimm to get close. They charge me and I jump off the log at the last second and in one move the two Grimm are crushed by the boulder. I quickly swim into the cave and grab Weiss and take us to the surface. Weiss was still conscious and breathing, I drag her to shore and Ruby helps get Weiss onto dry ground.

Ruby: Weiss! I'm so happy you're ok!

Weiss is pulled into a hug and I stand there still catching my breath, Weiss then looks at me and smiles, I simply smile back and we all head back to Beacon. Weiss was treated for any potential water that might be in her lungs and came out with a clean bill of health. Weiss had asked me if we could still go on our date, and nervously I agreed if she wanted to, so I am getting ready for a picnic with Weiss. Oh man I'm already sweating bullets. I then hear a knock on my dorm door and I answer and Weiss is standing there in a simple, but elegant, sun dress.

Weiss: Hey.

(Y/n): H-Hey, so ready?

Weiss: Yes, let's go.

     We head down to the beach just in time to see the sun start to set. I set out the blanket and Weiss gets the food from the basket. We sit and talk while we eat, then Weiss gets a noticable blush on her face and tells me.

Weiss: Thank you for saving me today.

(Y/n): Hey, that's what friends are for right.

Weiss: Yes, but after what happened, I realized something.

(Y/n): Hmm, what's that?

Weiss scoots closer to me and my heart starts to beat a little faster.

Weiss: I-I love you, (Y/n).

I am still processing what she said, as Weiss leans closer to me. Out of some instinct, I caress her cheek and our lips connect. We both quickly melted into the kiss and stayed like this until the need for air arose, we pulled away and I said.

(Y/n): I love you too, Weiss.

Weiss smiles and leans in again and she presses her body against mine, until I felt severe pain in my ribcage from the fight with the Grimm. I wince pretty loudly and Weiss is quick to see if I'm ok.

Weiss: Oh my goodness, are you alright?!

(Y/n): Yup, just bruising from that rescue, I'm fine.

Weiss then starts to laugh and I fight through the pain as she kisses me again. We head back to Beacon, not just as friends, but as lovers.
