3rd Person POV

Velvet and team CFVY are headed to a Grimm trouble spot for a village nearby. Velvet is rubbing her ears because they still hurt after the regular Cardin bullying session. Her team have told Cardin and his team off before, but somehow Cardin still finds a way to pick on Velvet's and pull her ears. Velvet knows she needs to stand up to Cardin and his bullying, but she is too afraid of what others might think of her. The team get to the trouble spot and set up a camp. As the sun sets they still haven't found any Grimm, so they set up a fire and call it a night. It is late and Velvet is on guard duty, she then gets the feeling something is watching her. Velvet looks around with a flashlight and the beam lands on a pair of green eyes that are reflecting the light. Velvet freezes in place, she knows it's not a Grimm, but she had heard legends about a monster that guards the forest. The creature then slowly approaches and reveals itself to Velvet.

The creature starts to sniff Velvet from a distance and doesn't appear threatening. Velvet doesn't move only looks at this creature with fear, but also curiosity. The creature slowly and cautiously moved closer to Velvet, until the voice of Coco distracted Velvet.

Coco: Velvet?! Do you see something?

Velvet was about to tell Coco what she saw, but when she turned back the creature was gone. Velvet looks around but doesn't see the creature, she can only sigh to herself and tell Coco.

Velvet: *sigh* Nothing. Nothing now.

Coco: Well come on then. Get some sleep, we've got a lot of ground to cover tomorrow.

Velvet then looked around one more time and went back to bed. Unbeknownst to Velvet, the creature was still watching. Eventually though, the creature moved on and as it came to a secluded treehouse, the creature transformed into a tiger faunus. This is (Y/n), he was separated from his parents as child, when he and his family went hiking for the first time. After being separated he was raised by the animals of the forest, now he protects the forest and it's inhabitants from Grimm. As (Y/n) goes to sleep for the night he thinks about the strange girl he encountered, she took a human form, but she also had rabbit ears.

Timeskip Next Morning

Velvet POV

My team and I head out into the forest to look for Grimm to destroy, I am still thinking about the creature I saw last night. After a little while, we finally found a large horde of Grimm and get to work. The Grimm are numerous and separate me from my team, I take down a few beowolves but I am quickly overwhelmed and fearing for my life, until I hear a roar from the trees...

All of a sudden the creature I saw last night jumps at the horde and protects me from the Grimm. I just hid myself until the sound of fighting died down. I crept out to see the creature growling and panting from the fight. Then more Grimm come from the forest, the creature then surprisingly grabs me and starts running through the tree branches and to a treehouse. The creature sets me down inside and runs back out and lures the Grimm away, I decide to sit tight for a little bit and wait until the Grimm are really gone. I take a look around the treehouse and for a supposed wild animal this is surprisingly well decorated. I take a seat on the makeshift bed and unwittingly fall asleep.

3rd Person POV

Meanwhile, (Y/n) has led the Grimm away from his home and doubled back and grabbed some food on the way back. He gets there and sees the girl asleep on his bed, he moves silently and takes a closer look at this girl. (Y/n) has never seen another human being since he was separated from his family, so this woman intrigued him. It was getting late, so (Y/n) went back outside and did a nightly patrol as he does every night. When he gets back Velvet is still asleep, so (Y/n) takes up a resting spot on one of the branches of his tree and rests for the night, but always has his senses on high alert.

Velvet POV

I slowly wake up and realize I must've been more tired than I thought because it was the next morning. I get up and look around the house and see a pile of fruits and I can smell meat cooking over a fire. I go outside and spot a man with stripes on his body and ears on his head with shoulder length (H/C) hair and (E/C) eyes. The man notices me staring and simply smiles and offers me some food, I walk up to him and cautiously take what he offered, and sat near him. I eat and all of a sudden he starts talking.

(Y/n): Girl, ok?

Taken by surprise, I don't respond right away, until he asks again and I broke out of my trance.

Velvet: Oh, yes. I'm ok. Thank you for saving me. My name is Velvet.

(Y/n): Name is (Y/n). I have never seen someone like you before.

Velvet: How long have you been out here by yourself?

(Y/n): (Y/n) don't know, but since (Y/n) was really little, animals raised me after.

I look at this man with pity, he's been out here alone for who knows how long and I am the first person he's seen in that time. I then remember that my team is probably worried about me and I should get back to them.

Velvet: So, I came here with three other people and they're probably out there looking for me. Can you help me find them?

(Y/n): Yes, I can help, but why was Velvet out here?

Velvet: Well my friends and I were asked to destroy Grimm, because it's what I do. I help people.

(Y/n): (Y/n) help animals of forest but we both do same thing.

Velvet: Yes, I guess we do.

3rd Person POV

The rest of the day was spent with searching for Velvet's team, but the forest is so vast that the entire day was spent finding nothing. (Y/n) then deemed the search too dangerous to keep going into the night. The pair then head back to the treehouse and eat dinner and look at the stars. Velvet then notices the crocodile tooth around (Y/n)'s neck and asks.

Velvet: Did you fight a crocodile for this?

(Y/n): Oh no, (Y/n) not fight. Crocodile had tooth ache, gave it to (Y/n) as thanks. Brings good juju.

Velvet: Juju?

(Y/n): Good luck.

Velvet: I have something like that. *takes off a ring on her finger* It's not worth anything, I found it in a cereal box when I was 10. My juju.

Velvet then puts the ring on (Y/n)'s necklace and tells him he wants him to have it.

(Y/n): For (Y/n)?

Velvet: Yes.

(Y/n): That's the nicest thing anyone's ever given (Y/n). Thank you.

Just then some low rhythmic beat starts sounding through the forest, (Y/n) simply smiles and says it's dancing time. He jumps down from the balcony and asks Velvet to dance, but she's afraid of being embarrassed.

(Y/n): What mean embarrassed?

Velvet: That's when you feel stupid in front of people, like they're judging you. You've never felt that way?

(Y/n): No, there are no other people.

Velvet: Hmm, good point.

(Y/n): Sometimes (Y/n) smash into trees and sometimes... WHOA!

(Y/n) then falls off the ledge and to the ground then gets up like nothing happened.

(Y/n): Sometimes (Y/n) falls out of treehouse, but not feel stupid. Something good always happens after. (Y/n) just lucky I guess.

The pair danced late into the night and Velvet felt truly happy for the first time in a long time. She wasn't worried about school, or how others saw her, she was just having fun. When it was time for bed, Velvet actually encouraged (Y/n) that they share the bed. Next morning, (Y/n) woke up early to do his dawn patrol and let Velvet sleep. A few hours later Velvet woke up, ate breakfast and went outside and is suddenly met by a familiar voice.

Coco: Velvet!

Velvet: *turns to see Coco* Coco?!

Coco came up to her and gave her a hug, happy Velvet was ok.

Coco: What happened after the fight we couldn't find you anywhere?

Velvet: Well I was seperated by the sheer number of Grimm and well, remember the legend we were told about a monster protecting this forest?

Coco: Vaugely, why?

Velvet: Well the legend is true, but it's not a monster, but a tiger faunus. He saved me and brought me here.

Coco: Look, you were probably just lonely and-

Velvet: *annoyed* Ugh, why do you not believe me?! I'm telling the truth!

Coco: Come on let's go. You've been out here for three days on you're own and-

Velvet: (Y/N)!

(Y/n) heard Velvet as he walked back to the treehouse. He grew concerned as he saw a woman talking with Velvet while holding her arm and mistook it as Velvet being hurt.

(Y/n): Leave Velvet alone!

(Y/n) transforms as he charges towards the girl in sunglasses. Coco sees the monster coming and points her gun at it.

Coco: Back off! Now!

(Y/n) didn't stop at her threat, and pumped on adreneline he couldn't stop. Not wanting to take any chances, Coco fired and one of the bullets hit (Y/n) and stopped him in his tracks. He slumped to the ground as Velvet rushed to help him.

Velvet: (Y/N)!
