Ruby POV

I am working my through the crowd at the Stark Expo, I am super excited, to some of my team's annoyance, who I brought with.

Weiss: I still don't get why we're here when we can avoid the crowd and watch from the tv in our room.

Blake: Yeah, why do we need to be here?

Yang: *leans over and whispers* Ruby, secretly has a crush that presents weapons here.

Ruby: I HEARD THAT! And I do not!

Yang: I mean I can see the appeal. Wealth, fame, power.

Ruby: That I don't care about, but the guy is really nice and genuinely wants to help people.

Weiss: And you know this, how?

Ruby: I met him, once. It was a few years ago....

Flashback 5 Years Ago

I am wandering around town down in the dumps because I am complete garbage at Signal Academy, even with Dad and Uncle Qrow's help. I still can't fight properly and I'm starting to wonder if I'm really cut out to be a Huntress. I continue walking through town, when I bump into someone and fall to the ground, before I hit the ground I am caught. I look up and see a boy my age has caught my arm and kept me from falling.

????: Are you ok?

Ruby: Yeah thanks.

I stabilize myself and see this boy has short (H/C) hair and (E/C) eyes, he is also wearing a three-piece suit, which I found odd for someone his age.

Ruby: Sorry for asking but who are you?

(Y/n): Names (Y/n) Stark.

Ruby: Whoa, (Y/n) Stark?! As in Stark Industries?

(Y/n): Yeah.

Ruby: Oh my goodness! I am such a fan of all the inventions your family makes, especially the weapons! I'm Ruby Rose and I want to become a Huntress.

(Y/n): A Huntress? Cool, I thought I might want to try being a Huntsman too.

Ruby: Yeah, but I'm starting to think maybe I'm not cut out for this. It's just no matter how much I try I just can't seem to get any of the fighting stuff down.

(Y/n): I see. Hmm, how 'bout we go to that bakery for some cookies?

Ruby: Oh, I don't want to be a bother.

(Y/n): Nonsense, cookies always make me feel better. Plus, you could use a friend.

Ruby: You really want to be friends?

(Y/n): Why not, come on those cookies aren't going to eat themselves!

We go into the bakery and (Y/n) lets me eat as many cookies as I want, but I was still down about not quite becoming the Huntress I wanted to be.

(Y/n): You know, there's a saying 'As long as you don't give up, there's nothing you cannot accomplish." If you want to become a Huntress, you cannot give up just because you can't get some moves right the first time. You just need to keep trying again and again, becoming a hero doesn't happen overnight.

I felt a lot better knowing someone believes in me other than my family, I smiled and happily ate all the cookies I was allowed. We remained close friends since that day and while we lived in different kingdoms we stayed in touch.

Flashback End

Today though, (Y/n) called me and told me to come to the Stark Expo, because he wanted to show me something he's showcasing at the presentation stage. We get to the gate but are stopped by security and I start arguing because the presentation's about to start, until a voice stops the arguing.

Morgan: It's alright, Happy Jr. These Huntresses are with me.

Happy: I didn't realize, my apologies. Welcome to the Stark Expo.

Ruby: Thanks. Hi, Mrs. Stark.

Morgan: Please, Ruby dear, call me Morgan.

Weiss: Ruby, how do you know the Stark family.

Morgan: Oh, she and my son, (Y/n), have been friends since they were both ten years old.

Blake: Wow, didn't know Ruby had friends outside the Academy.

Morgan: I had heard you had gotten into Beacon early. Well done, Ruby.

Ruby: *blushes* Aw, thanks. So what's all the excitement?

Morgan: Now where's the fun in spoiling the surprise? Come on, the presentation starts in 2 minutes.

We head inside the pavilion and take a seat, finally Morgan herself walks out onto the stage and starts the presentation.

Morgan: Thank you all for coming and welcome to the Stark Expo, where the world can come together to share their visions to lead humanity to a brighter future. And today my son is taking a step towards not only a technological but also a safer world, that's right, he has decided to take the path of the Huntsman and try to help rid the world of the Grimm. Ladies and Gentlemen I present-

(Y/n): *intercom* Mom, you're killing me.

Just then something takes over the speakers and a song comes on the speaker and I start cheering as loud as I can.

     (Y/n) lands in an awesome looking armored exosuit.

As everyone cheers, the helmet reveals the man underneath the suit. He walks over and gives his mother a hug and then walks back to the stage and addresses the crowd.

(Y/n): It's good to be back! How you doing Vale?!

*Applause*

(Y/n): Excellent, but you know all this the Expo, all the modern technology we use would not have been possible if not for my Great Grandfather, Howard Stark and the leaps my Grandfather, Tony, took made everything we used to to think as revolutionary and now we see as simple. All this wouldn't be here if not for them, so like my mother said, I will be taking another step towards a brighter future not just as an inventor but as a Huntsman. I am going to Beacon Academy to do my part to make the world a little safer, I am Iron Man!

*Applause*

     The presentation ends and the team and I end up outside and everyone took a little somethong away from this experience.

Ruby: What did I tell you guys, he's so cool!

Weiss: He is indeed a genius, and he does seem like he genuinely wants to help.

Blake: For some reason I had no trouble believing him, that he wanted to make the world safer.

Yang: Plus, I bet he's a hunk under all that armor.

Ruby: Yang!

Yang: What, I was-

(Y/n): Ruby!

     I turn around and see (Y/n) land in front of us, his helmet retract to show his face and I gave him a really excited hug.

Ruby: Oh, I'm so excited you get to come to Beacon with us!

(Y/n): Yeah, it'll be fun.

     After conversing for several minutes Blake and Weiss drag Yang back to the dorm to get some studying done, I decided to stay with (Y/n). (Y/n)'s armor had been suited up and now it just looks like a briefcase, we continue walking to gether and catching up and I realized I was holding (Y/n)'s hand. I blush and pull my hand away, and apologize.

Ruby: Sorry, I didn't mean to.

(Y/n): It's alright. Who's gonna care what we do?

Ruby: Hmm, good point.

     We spent the next hour together and my heart couldn't stop racing, maybe Yang was right.

Ruby: So can I ask you something?

(Y/n): You just did. *chuckles*

Ruby: I'm serious!

(Y/n): Alright. Alright.

Ruby: *blushes* So, I've been thinking about this for a while and I'm not sure what it means,.... but I have developed feelings for you. I-I think I really like you.

(Y/n): Wow, I uh, I had no idea you felt that way, but I think I-

     I cut him off by planting a short kiss on his lips, I could feel my cheeks turn redder than my cape. He simply smiled and took my hand as we continued walking through Vale. We eventually make it back to my dorm room and everyone else is asleep. I turn back to (Y/n) and I tell him.

Ruby: Thank you, for being a really good friend.

(Y/n): What are friends for, right.

     I leaned forward and kissed him on the lips again, but this time he kissed back and we stayed like this until the need for air became overwhelming. We seperated and smiled at eachother when he said.

(Y/n): I love you, little rose.

Ruby: I love you, Iron Man.
