Blake POV

I am finally back at home on Menagerie and I feel aweful about leaving my friends behind. But, it's for their own safety, I think. Unfortunately, Sun followed me to help me against the White Fang. Well, at least he's persistant, I'll give him that. As I lay awake on my bed, I start thinking back to my childhood friend I made when I was young.

Flashback 10 years ago

I am sleeping with my parents because I had a nightmare last night. When all of a sudden I start feeling the house begin to vibrate. I wake up and look outside the window, as I now hear heavy footsteps. Then I see a huge line of some very big faunus, I had never seen them before and I was amazed.

Blake: Dad look! A parade!

Ghira: *opens his eyes and grumbles* Oh no. The Dawn Patrol again. *groans*

My dad threw a pillow over his head so he could try and sleep. I however was intrigued, got my shoes and went outside to watch.

Hathi: COMPANY, SOUND OFF!

Soldiers: Oh the aim of our patrol! Is a question rather droll! For to march and drill over field and hill! *TRUMPETS*

Hathi: Is a military goal!

Soldier: Is a military goal! HUP, 2, 3, 4! DRESS IT UP, 2, 3, 4! By the ranks or single file! Over every jungle mile! Oh we stamp and crush through the underbrush!

(Y/n): *trumpets* In the military style!

Soldiers: In the military style!

I see a boy around my age but at least twice my height, he has short (H/C) hair and (E/C) eyes and he's holding a wooden axe while following the parade. Curious, I walk up to the kid and ask him.

Blake: Good morning. What are you doing?

(Y/n): Shh. Drilling.

Blake: *whispers* Can I try it too?

(Y/n): Sure, just do what I do, but don't talk in ranks. It's against regulations.

I get behind the boy and match his rhythm and march behind him.

Hathi: To the rear MARCH!

Not knowing what that meant the boy ran into me and told me.

(Y/n): *chuckles* The other way. Turn around.

Hathi: Hup 2, 3, 4! Keep it up, 2, 3, 4! To the rear HO!

I keep marching and remembering what that meant, I turned and saw the others walking the opposite direction. I run to catch up when I hear.

Hathi: Company! HALT!

I skidded and bumped into the boy and fall on my butt. He turns to me with a friendly smile and helps me up.

(Y/n): That means stop.

Blake: Oh.

We both got a laugh out of it, the leader then walks up to us and playfully asks

Hathi: Well, little one. You a new recruit, eh?

Blake: I-

Ghira: BLAKE!

I turn and see my dad run to me looking a little worried.

Blake: Hey dad.

Ghira: Blake, why did you leave the house?

Blake: I got curious and it looked like fun.

Hathi: Hahaha. It's no trouble at all Ghira. She is perfectly safe with us.

Ghira: You just scared me is all.

Blake: Sorry dad, but I did make a new friend.

(Y/n): Hi, I'm (Y/n) and when I grow up, I'm gonna be a warrior just like my dad.

Hathi: Haha, and I couldn't be prouder of you my boy. Well, I suppose we need to finish the morning patrol. COMPANY, DRESS RANKS!

(Y/n): Well, I gotta go, but when I'm done why don't we play?

Blake: Yeah that'll be fun! Bye, (Y/n).

(Y/n): Bye Blake!

Hathi: FORWARD MARCH!

With that the company march off and dad and I head back to the house. Later, (Y/n) and I played catch, tag, and hide-n-seek all day long. He quickly became my best friend and everyday we would play and when we got old enough we even sparred against one another. Of course I was faster and more agile, but (Y/n)'s strength and durability made him a force to be reckoned with. Until, I went the White Fang's Vale branch and (Y/n) stayed to carry on his fathers legacy.

Flashback End

I smile and tear up as the memory fades. I wonder if (Y/n) is alright. A few days later and I have yet to see (Y/n) because if he gets involved he might get hurt because of me. Until, Sun gave me a pep talk about pushing my friends away, it somehow gave me the courage to fight back against the White Fang and take it back for the faunus people.

Sun: Well, we're not going to be able to do this on our own.

Ghira: Indeed, we'll need help.

Kali: Blake? Where are you going?

I was already walking to the door to find the one person who might be willing to help me. I turn to my parents and simply say.

Blake: To see an old friend.

Sun: Is this one a phsyco as well?

I only glare and walk out near the regular patrol routes and wait. Sun joins me outside and asks.

Sun: So, who is this friend?

Blake: His name is (Y/n). He and I met when I was 7 and we became best friends. Whenever I got into trouble he was always there to bail me out. I grew to really care for him, until I left to join the White Fang.

Sun: So what kind of faunus is this guy and why are we waiting here for him?

Blake: He and his company are all elephant faunus, the largest of all faunus. They have kept a watchful eye over the people of Menagerie, solving any problem that arose.

Sun: Wow, I've never seen an elephant faunus before, I thought they were extinct.

As soon as he says this, I feel the ground begin to vibrate and I simply smirk and say.

Blake: Well, believe it.

Soldiers: *crashes through the undergrowth* HUP, 2, 3, 4! KEEP IT UP, 2, 3, 4! HUP 2, 3, 4!

(Y/n): COMPANY SOUND OFF!

Soldiers: Oh we march from here to there! And it doesn't matter where! You can hear us push through the deepest bush! HUP, 2, 3, 4!

(Y/n): WITH A MILITARY AIR!

Soldiers: With a military air! *TRUMPETS*

Blake: Well, come one we gotta stop and talk to them.

Sun and I start to run down the hill to get to the parade, half way down though Sun trips and starts rolling down the hill. Oh, that's not gonna end well.

Soldiers: We're a crackerjack brigade, on a pachyderm parade! But we'd rather stroll to a water hole! HUP 2, 3, 4! Or a furlough in the shade!

I get to the parade and try to remember the word to stop them.

Blake: Oh. HALT!

Everyone surprisingly skids to a halt and (Y/n) is not pleased as I make my way to the front.

This is what your wearing and your weapon.

(Y/n): Who said halt?! I give the commands around here, now speak up!

I jump onto (Y/n)'s shoulders to surprise him, he looks up and I smile at him.

Blake: Hi there.

(Y/n): Blake! Hahaha, it's good to see you old friend!

Blake: *jumps down* It's great to see you too, (Y/n).

Sun: OW! EH! OPH! OW!

Sun finally gets to the bottom and face plants on the ground.

Blake: *sigh* And this is Sun.

(Y/n): A true pleasure to see you again. COMPANY, AT EASE! So Blake, you seem like a woman on a mission, how can I help?

Blake: We need an army. The White Fang are going to attack Haven Academy in a couple of weeks. We need your help to stop them from slaughtering innocent people, human and faunus alike. Please, for our friendships sake.

(Y/n): Hmmm, well we would need to rally the rest of the island. It needs to be their choice to stand up for what's right. Regardless though, you will have the support of the Elephant Brigade.

Blake: *hugs (Y/n)* Thank you. Thank you so much.

(Y/n): Of course, old friend. *turns to his soldiers* MEN, PREPARE FOR OPERATION SAVE HAVEN ACADEMY!

Soldiers: YES SIR!

With that we had the support of the local military. Adam better be ready cause he is about to get a rude awakening.

Timeskip 3 Days Later

I am trying to get everyone out of the burning house, my new concern is that the fire will spread to other households. I get everyone out, I then feel rumbling in the ground and Sun looks and shouts.

Sun: Hey help is here!

I turn around and sure enough, (Y/n) and his brigade come with water hoses and put out the fire.

(Y/n): Blake, are you alright?

Blake: *hugs (Y/n)* Yes, thank you.

After rallying the entire island to help us against the White Fang. For the first time in a long time, I feel hopeful for the future. As dad and (Y/n) plan for our counterattack against the White Fang, I head to the roof of (Y/n)'s house and start reading a book. I then feel a presence behind me and I look to see (Y/n) take a seat next to me.

(Y/n): Hey.

Blake: Hey.

There was a moment of silence between us, then (Y/n) pulls out a new book I've been wanting to read, Ninjas of Love Volume 2, he hands it to me and I skim the pages before saying to him.

Blake: Thank you, for always being there for me.

(Y/n): It's ok, it's what friends do.

Blake: Yeah but... to tell you the truth, I always saw you as more than a friend. After I left Menagerie, and working with Adam, I came to this realization, but I-

(Y/n) puts a finger on my lips to get me to be quiet. I look into his beautiful (E/C) eyes, he then caresses my cheek, as I lean in closer to him. Our lips connect and I easily melt into the kiss, I quickly turn it into a heated make out session. I pull away from the kiss, I lean my forehead against his and then ask.

Blake: *holds her new book* Wanna try out what's in this book~

(Y/n): *chuckles* Sure, why not.

We head to his bedroom and spend the night together as more than friends, as lovers.
