Rules - Let's Keep It Simple
.) NO DIRTIES/Sm!t/ANYTHING IN THAT CATEGORY - To be honest, I don't mind this sort of stuff, hell, I'll encourage it if it serves a purpose in the scene. However, I gotta abide by Wattpad's rules until they change it. So, if you want to get down and dirty, do so in the PM's. I don't care about kissing or making out, that's fine, But, once it seems like clothes become an unstable variable in the equation, leave a blurb saying you'll be back and then go do it in PM. I know, it's unfair, but for the moment, that's what we gotta deal with.
.) No Killing of Characters without the RP'ers permission - Simple enough, right? However, this is a fighting series. People may and most likely will die on both sides. However, don't kill someone without discussing it with that character's admin beforehand. Killing a character is not a decision that should be made lightly under any circumstances.
.) No God Modding - Nobody's perfect, nobody can just dodge or block every attack, or have every one of their moves land. This is fighting. Reality is, people get hit, they get hurt, and all that good stuff. Most importantly, if your character is in their teens, especially if they're a student at one of the four huntsman and huntress academies, they aren't going to be super powerful. Not yet, anyway. The point of these schools is to train these people into the great warriors that will defend the world from evils within and outside of humanity and Faunus alike. Sure, they may be very awesome, already, but they have a long way to go. So should your character if they're just starting out. Even if they have prior fighting training as many students at Beacon do. Remember, you're at a school to become a master warrior. Part of the fun is learning and honing the skills that enable your character to become the great hero (or villain) you want them to become. Don't be afraid to have them lose a fight, make a mistake. It makes for better writing and storytelling if you build up into the amazing fighter you want to become.
.) Elemental semblances - If you have one, I'm okay with that. However, no semblance can match the power of a maiden's elemental sorcery. Not even close.
.) Maidens - At a certain point there will be a chapter up for voting on who of our characters, both canon or not, should be the Spring Maiden. Details on that as they happen.
.) Cursing - Hey, I swear like a sailor in real life. If your character curses, I'm fine with that. If yours doesn't, please respect the right of others to do so, as long as it doesn't seem to go to overboard.
.) Romance - Romance is not an instant in real life, nor should it be here. I find it most fun to build into love, enriching the story for everyone. I don't want to see any: love at first sight business. Let your characters actually get to know each other before things start getting too warm and fuzzy.
.) Details, man. They are important. This mainly applies to a fight scene. Let's have at least, preferably more, but at least THREE solid meaty sentences as a response to a fight scene. It helps us all to know what exactly each character is doing. I know it can be a bit overwhelming, but it helps us all and makes it more fun.
.) Communicate - this isn't a must but it helps everyone if something big story related is coming to know what you have in mind for your characters. It'll help fights be less chaotic if we take a moment and plan in advance, as well as just keep everyone organized. You don't have to stick to that plan 100%, by no means, but I've sometimes found that with so many people in a fight or even in the same thread it's very hard to tell who's doing what and when. Tag the person your character is speaking to if you think you need to.
.) Stick to the lore. This is a fandom RP after all. Ordinarily, I wouldn't care what species you are or even what abilities you have that much. But, this is based on RWBY which has its own set of established world rules and lore. We gotta follow that, within reason. Please take this into account when you design your OC. There are no demons, or divine beings that we know of yet. The closest thing to demons are the Grimm.
.) Romance. We love it, it makes for good storytelling, and it can advance a character's development as well as the plot. However, the plot should not revolve around love. This is an action series that is story driven. In this case, the love interests should complement the story, not the other way around. Let's also make sure we take the time to develop the romance itself. None of this love at first sight nonsense. Love takes time to develop, and even more for it to be shared between two people. One more thing, NO romance between two canon characters controlled by the same person. This means if, say, you have both Ruby and Weiss, you can't make them fall in love just to make WhiteRose happen. Love that ship, but half the fun of having romance in an RP is playing it out between two people. Also, no having an OC you control fall in love with a Canon character controlled by the same person. Example, if you have OC A and Ruby, you can't make them fall in love because you control them both. Be fair to others willing to play out a romance and don't ask for a canon character so you can romance them yourself before someone else has a chance. I'm perfectly fine, though, if you control two OC's and want them to love each other. That's fine. My only issue is two canon characters or a canon character and an OC controlled by the same person falling in love.
.) HAVE FUN! Make sure to have a good time. If you have problems, let someone know via PM or in the comments!
A quick note: There are special rules for canon characters now that are found on the canon characters page.
