161: Ring Out
Watts thought he'd be dead in seconds--
But then something happened, even as the Seer was reeling him in the rest of the way.
There was a loud growl and a snarl.
Tyrian stopped laughing and looked oddly at the bushes. He was still outside Mistral, somewhere in the mountains, where no one should have seen him.
Instead a huge cougar sprang out of the trees and jumped at the Seer like it was a big mouse.
The Seer's tentacles were too busy trying to tie Watts up to stop it.
"What in--?" Salem sounded almost like a normal woman for a second and the cougar yanked the Seer out of the air and into the ground then used its claws to tear its globe head and the Seer broke open and dissolved...
Watts was staring in astonishment.
Tyrian was baffled.
"What in the hell?" he said.
The cougar turned to him and growled.
Tyrian twitched his tail--but then it was still not quite as operational as before and he doubted his chances against a huge cat and Watts at the same time, who was adjusting his metal rings like he planned to do something.
Tyrian decided to run instead.
Watts expected the cougar to attack him next-- they were some of the only wild animals known to eat humans.
But instead it ran after Tyrian and he didn't hear anything, so he assumed Tyrian had gone away.
Watts was shaking like a leaf. That had made no sense. Animals didn't usually attack grimm, especially not if humans were around. Unless they were trained, but a wild animal wouldn't have, especially one that wasn't shaped like a predator...what just happened?
He pulled out his scroll and texted the group that he needed to get picked up.

Salem, on her end, stared at the blank globe where the image had been and then she flung it into the wall, shattering it herself.
"How dare you?!" She yelled at nothing.
Then she looked at the sky.
"After all this time, is this your answer?!" She shouted at it. "Tricks and displays, you haven't changed one bit! But I have." [Have you really though?]
She was almost too angry to even bother still throwing a fit.
Ozpin's return always infuriated her because it was proof that the gods' power went on no matter what she did.
But Ozpin had never been able to counter her powers of grimm directly like this.
This was different.
She picked up the book. The woman was going to taunt her? She was going to make her regret it, everything up till now was child's play! She wanted more? She could get more!
She found the place in the Psalms.
[Prepare for the most passive aggressive slam ever. Shine is a savage.]
" Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.
But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold. For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong. They are free from common human burdens; they are not plagued by human ills. Therefore pride is their necklace; they clothe themselves with violence. From their callous hearts comes iniquity; their evil imaginations have no limits. They scoff, and speak with malice; with arrogance they threaten oppression. Their mouths lay claim to heaven, and their tongues take possession of the earth. Therefore their people turn to them and drink up waters in abundance. They say, "How would God know? Does the Most High know anything?" This is what the wicked are like— always free of care, they go on amassing wealth.Surely in vain I have kept my heart pure and have washed my hands in innocence. All day long I have been afflicted, and every morning brings new punishments. If I had spoken out like that, I would have betrayed your children. When I tried to understand all this, it troubled me deeply till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final destiny. Surely you place them on slippery ground; you cast them down to ruin. How suddenly are they destroyed, completely swept away by terrors! They are like a dream when one awakes; when you arise, Lord, you will despise them as fantasies. When my heart was grieved and my spirit embittered, I was senseless and ignorant; I was a brute beast before you. Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you.My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you. But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds." [Psalm 73, told you it would be passive aggressive.]
To say this passage infuriated Salem further would be an understatement, she literally saw red. [One would think she'd always see red.]
She tore the page out of the book and threw it across the room, then she set it on fire.
But even seeing it turn to ash didn't soothe her.
But a comforting thought came to her. The fools were going to Vacuo. The Apathy would finish them. The relics were almost in sight. Their arrogant slights didn't matter. She just needed to wait...and to find Watts and kill him also. Perhaps Tyrian already had.
Th idea of Tyrian being eaten by the wild animal never occurred to her, Tyrian would never die that way.
[Too bad right? But he'd probably poison it if it ate him.]

Pyrrha, Nora, and Ruby came back to the tent with Oscar.
Pyrrha held out the water. "Drink this."
"What is it?" Elm asked.
"Water," Pyrrha replied.
"I'm not thirsty," Elm said sleepily. "Just tired."
"Just do it!" Oscar practically yelled.
"He's a pushy one," Elm crabbily drank some.
"Just one sip!" Pyrrha warned.
Elm's eyes suddenly cleared.
"What? What have I been doing?!" She looked around. "Marrow? Harriet?"
"Drink some, fast," Ruby handed it to Robyn.
"Out of the same vial?" Robyn said.
"Is this the time to care?" Pyrrha snapped.
Robyn winced and took a sip.
Then she coughed because her throat was so dry and then she blinked. "Oh my gosh, I feel like I've been in a trance...but no, I remember what you said...huh...what is this?" She held it up.
"Nevermind that," Pyrrha said. "It should help you think clearly for at least a few hours. Can you please help us? We need to get the music back on and get people to the Oasis if we have to evacuate."
"Of course we help you," Elm said. "Can you give that to Marrow and Harriet?"
"We need to use it carefully," Pyrrha eyed it. "It wasn't that much and it's half gone already. Marrow's power won't help us much, we need to move fast. Harriet could help. Anyone else who might be able to help we could talk about it."
"That's right, those fools took it down!" Robyn said "I tried to stop them, but they did it anyway. But no grimm showed up right off, we thought maybe they'd give up...and then the tiredness set in. We...wow we screwed ourselves."
"Yeah, you did," Nora was rather merciless about it.
"Pyrrha, I'm starting to feel tired too," Oscar said. "But I don't want to use it, other people will need it more than us. Do you think there's any way we could make more of it?"
"What if we poured it into regular water?" Pyrrha mused. "It worked with dust. Then more of it could go around."
"I'll get some water," Nora said. Rushing to find a water cooler shed.
Robyn and Elm woke Harriet up, and told her what happened.
Thankfully, she wasn't as surly as usual and agreed to help them.
Pyrrha, Ruby, and Oscar wanted to help them, but they knew their real job was to find the Apathy.
Nora brought water and Pyrrha poured a drop into each container.
"It probably won't be as strong this way," she warned Robyn. "But you should wake people up for at least a short time. You could try to get everyone to eat and drink at least a little bit, the Apathy kills you by making you stop caring about taking care of yourself. If you start to feel really tired again, run. The others will be at the oasis they can come help you."
"You guys came back here just to get us, didn't you?" Robyn wasn't stupid. "You had another mission getting those special items...but you heard what happened."
"Yeah," Ruby said. "We couldn't leave you here."
Robyn smiled. "That's actually some grade A noble action right there. Did Schnee know about this?"
"Of course," Pyrrha said. "She's here."
"I retract everything I ever said about Atlas," Robyn said. "Must have just been Ironwood's fault."
"Uh...not entirely," Pyrrha said. "But they aren't all like that."
"Are you sure you don't want help fighting whatever these things are, I feel fine now," Robyn said.
"You're not the heavy hitter," Oscar said bluntly. "And people here trust you. You'd really be way more help handling this part."
"Yeah...okay," Robyn said. Then she looked at her arms. "We're all gonna need a shower after this. Standing for days in the heat, gross; and I have sand everywhere, again."
"To much information," Oscar muttered before he realized he said it out loud.
Nora snorted at him.
"We'd better go now," Ruby said. "I really want to fry some Apathy after seeing what we saw."
"Good luck," Robyn gave them a thumbs up 👍. "Say hi to your uncle for me, kid. I hope his sister hasn't tormented the life out of him yet. He and Schnee hook up by the way?"
"What?" Ruby said. "What does that mean?"
"Are they dating yet, duh," Nora said.
"And the answer is no," Pyrrha said. "Sadly."
"What?" Ruby looked strangely at Nora. "Are you pulling my leg?"
"You really haven't noticed?" Oscar said.
"Me? What did you notice?" Ruby demanded.
"Well, that'll be a fun conversation," Robyn snickered. "Better hurry up."
"We better call the others," Pyrrha said.
They got no answer from anyone in Weiss and Jaune's group.
"That cannot be a good sign," Nora said flatly.
Kip flew over and waved at them.
"Better ask him," Pyrrha flagged him down.
He circled lower looking nervous.
"I haven't seen my mother anywhere," he said.
"Oh..." Nora wondered where she was...would she have succumbed already? Hard to imagine that woman doing that.
"I saw Penny's group go towards a drain," Kip said. "There might be Apathy down there."
"Can you take us?" Pyrrha asked.
"Yes," Kip said.
He flew up and away and they ran after him...and they began feeling more sluggish the longer they went.
"We're getting closer to the bigger cluster of it," Oscar said, finally. "But it's not irresistible yet."
"If I can't see them I can't do anything," Ruby said, slapping her face. "We have to stay alert."
"I thought you said it was the sound," Pyrrha said. "I hear nothing."
"Maybe the sound is super sonic," Kip looked down. "Or it penetrates walls and even if you can't hear it, the vibrations are still affecting your brain."
[I checked the science on this, and your brain can be affected by sounds even if you can't hear them, within a certain hertz range. Amazing how an idea I got from Batman can be legit.]
"His mom really needed to take this kid to the park more often," Nora said.
"We should be grateful for his knowledge at this time," Pyrrha said. "Theo gave us some earplugs right."
"That guy really is prepared for everything," Oscar said.
"You know, you are starting to resemble each other," Nora rubbed her chin.
They put the wax and earplugs in their ears.
Surprisingly, they did actually feel more energetic.
"Dang, we should have told Robyn to do that," Ruby said.
"Apathy isn't as strong if you don't listen to it?" Pyrrha said. "How poetic."
"There! I think it's that street," Kip flew up and then back down.
They followed him.
Penny was watching the grate.
"I haven't gone in to get them yet," she said. "I heard something but then they said they were all right, they were killing the Apathy. So far they seem to be succeeding. Should I get more help?"
Pyrrha reflected that Penny really didn't have a lot of initiative...she seemed more robotic in that way.
Then again, neither did Kip and he wasn't even all robot, maybe it was a trained thing.
"Guys?" Ruby called into the grate.
No answer.
"Did you hear anything?" Nora asked.
"I hear fighting still," Penny said.
"We should go help," Pyrrha said.
They jumped down.
The others weren't in sight.
* * *
The reason for this was they'd moved farther down to the tunnels hiding the Apathy--until they had gone much farther than they intended to...and had gotten lost.
It didn't help that half of the tunnels down here were collapsed or partially collapsed so they had to turn around and then go another way...and no one realized how many turns they'd taken till they were lost.
"Why didn't someone try to keep track?!" Weiss cried.
Jaune was getting tried.
"Guys, even my aura isn't going to last forever," he said, what he should probably have said several passages ago. "And without it, Meridian can't cover us all, not this close."
"I don't see how's there's so many of these things," Meridian said. "We've been going for 20 minutes at least and we keep finding more."
"They have to be coming from somewhere," Jaune reasoned. "If we could find the source, we could stop it like before." He was starting to feel strained.
"Now you've got it," Libby adjusted her hat. "Your scrolls won't last forever down here either, will they? Better hurry."
Jaune stopped and panted, then his aura went out.
"Uh oh," Hamish said.
"Let's not panic," Meridian said. "I don't see any Apathy right now. Which way was out?"
Zwei barked.
"Zwei, can you lead us out?" Weiss asked.
"He can't understand you," Libby said.
"How do you know? He's a smart dog, aren't you?" Weiss crooned at Zwei. "Take us outside."
"That sounds wrong," Libby made a face.
"That's adorable," Meridian said.
Libby rolled her eyes. "Boys..."
Zwei wagged his tail and then ran up the passage.
"We've had no other idea than following a dog, might as well," Meridian said. "Besides this is no ordinary dog. He's a mean, lean, grimm slaying machine."
"You should write poetry, mate," Hamish said. "You could call it the book of Merry Poems."
"Piss off you bleeding git," Meridian tried to get him in a headlock.
"Guys focus!" Jaune said.
"Oh we're just having a bit of fun," Hamish said, prying Meridian off of him.
"Hey it's all fun and games until someone loses an eye," Jaune said.
"Did your mother tell you that?" Hamish snorted.
"Yeah, and my dad, and...my older sisters..." Jaune said.
"When they were beating you up, you mean," Weiss said meanly.
"Hey, my sisters didn't beat me up--usually," Jaune said. "It wasn't fair, they outnumbered me."
"You'd better have more than two if that's your excuse," Meridian said.
"Excuse me?" Weiss looked at him. "Winter and I could easily beat up Whitley."
"I keep saying he really should fix that," Libby remarked.
"I have 7 sisters," Jaune said.
Meridian and Hamish both stared at him and then they both crossed their hearts and bowed their heads.
Zwei barked.
"I notice he barks when he sees grimm," Libby said. "So I'm going to guess it's not good that he's doing that right now."
They rounded the corner and saw a wall of Apathy that had certainly not been there before--and they were blocking the exit.
Well...Jaune was out of juice and the others hadn't been ready, they'd practically giftwrapped themselves.
The Apathy screeched.
Back at the entrance, Pyrrha said: "Did you hear something?"
Even with earplugs they still felt shaky.
"I heard something," Penny said. "Like a siren almost."
"It has to be them!" Ruby said.
"Ruby," Nora said. "What do the Apathy look like?"
She had turned to look down the right side of the tunnel.
"Big skeletons," Ruby said.
"Like those?" Nora asked.
They all turned around and flashed their scrolls.
Apathy had crawled out of the tunnel behind them and were eyeing them like they were fresh meat.
"Oh crap..." Ruby said.
The Apathy screamed.
Pyrrha felt like the air around her became lead and she fell to her knees.
Kip covered his ears.
Nora fell over.
Penny, unaffected, pulled her swords out and lasered them.
She didn't get them all, but at least 12.
Ruby pushed herself up and closed her eyes, trying to focus, then she opened them and blasted at least 20 more of them.
The others picked themselves up.
"Get out of here, now!" Ruby yelled.
"But the others?" Pyrrha said.
Penny pulled them out. "I can hold these ones off," she said. "Then I can look for the others."
"Okay," Pyrrha said. "Let's try to find the other entrance."
They ran down the street.
Penny swirled her swords and began blasting into the Apathy again.
"Leave my friends alone!" She shouted at them.
***
Weiss woozily realized she was on the floor again. Zwei had latched onto one of the Apathy, trying to tear its arms off.
[Zwei really should teach his own class.]
Meridian shot arrows through some of them, he switched to sword form and slashed into more.
"Get up all of you!" he said.
His voice seemed to animate them slightly, Hamish got to his knees and then swung his club, slamming a few of the Apathy into the ceiling.
Libby threw some more dust at them and shot it with her brush so it exploded.
"There might be another exit," Meridian said. "We can try to get away from these buggers."
The Apathy howled at him.
The others fell down again.
Jaune tried to get up and fell back over.
Weiss tried to push herself up on her sword. She was so tired...
One of the Apathy reached out a clawed hand toward her and she moved like she was in slow motion. Everyone's voices started to sound tinny...
"Weiss move!" Meridian yelled at her.
Weiss started to move, but it felt like she was wearing lead weights.
Meridian cursed and ducked one of the Apathy to run over and slice through the one in front of her.
One of the ones behind it scraped a claw across Meridian's arm.
Luckily not that close or it could have taken 4 inches off, but it hurt like heck.
Meridian swung and sliced its head off.
They howled again.
Weiss just about passed out that time.
Even Meridian was starting to feel tired. Though his mind hadn't clouded over yet, but he knew he was weakened...coming down here had been a bad idea.
Libby wasn't moving anymore, though there was an Apathy right in front of her. Too many people, too many Apathy, Mer was going to be too slow sooner or later.
Zwei had flung off one and was scratching at the others.
Hamish and Jaune both looked like they were half dead already.
That Arc guy should really learn to pace himself more, if he was that low on aura he should have stopped already.
"Weiss," Meridian jostled her arm. "We need a summoning, wake up."
Weiss blinked. "I can't..." she mumbled. Her pupils had shrunk to tiny dots.
Meridian tried applying his semblance directly. "Wake up! You can do it."
Weiss stirred and her eyes cleared a little. "Huh...oh!" She stuck her sword into the ground and a knight came out of it.
It slashed through the Apathy right in front of them, and then a few more before it dissolved...Weiss gasped, her aura was getting low.
"Well, a valiant effort," Meridian admitted. "But not enough I think--" Wow that was the most defeatist thing he'd said in like...years. He must be losing his aura too.
In fact he felt like giving up--and he never felt like that.
But he at least still knew he was being affected.
He pulled Weiss further back, and then moved to try to grab Jaune, but the Apathy screeched again and he fell to his knees. It felt like the ground was pulling him down.
Their scrolls clattered to the ground and it got pretty dark in there. Except for the light of the red mouths of the Apathy.
If that was the last face they were going to see, it wasn't worth dying.
Suddenly, blindingly bright lighting cut across the tunnel and a huge blast of energy vaporized at least 10 of that Apathy at once.
The other Apathy were much fewer now. Only about a dozen left.
"Get out of my tunnel! you pack of mangey parasites!" A voice yelled.
The other huntsmen sat up, more awake now.
"I know that voice," Jaune said.
Only he would have out of the group.
He looked back.

[This song both fit because it's called Alchemist, and because the lyrics work. Nathan Wagner seems to somehow anticipate my character writing.]
Unbelievably, it was Victoria Kanap. She was glowing like she'd drunk one of her serums and her eyes were shooting off sparks.
She had a tracker in one hand, and the other was crackling with electricity. She released it again and fried the last of the Apathy.
Everyone could breathe again.
"Who is that?" Meridian asked.
"That mad scientist woman!" Jaune said.
"Who are you?" Victoria glanced at him, then she narrowed her eyes. "One of those kids who destroyed my home, I know you...To think I swore revenge on you and I just ended up saving your sorry life. I can fix that--"
"Wait!" Weiss sprang up and summoned a glyph. "We're not here to fight you." She hoped.
"Who said you were?" Victoria snapped. "I should thank you for kidnapping my son! Where is he?"
"He's with us," Weiss really hoped that Kip would forgive her for this. "If you want to see him, you shouldn't kill us, they'll be looking for us. Please."
"Madame, I don't know who you are," Meridian said, though he'd put it together once Jaune and Weiss spoke. "But we've got a bit of a fallen kingdom on our hands, do you think you could leave off your revenge shtick until after we stop this mass of Apathy louts?"
Victoria eyed him nastily. Then she shrugged. "I can wait till we get out of here, I suppose. I'm not dying down here in the dark. If you want to live that long, I guess you can follow me."
On the way, she told them her grievances.
"Salem tried to kill me, but she underestimated my skill." She had a gleam in her eye that Weiss didn't like. "I crushed all her little grimm."
"You've been doing that since we left?" Weiss said.
"Yes, you ninny, who do you think stopped the Apathy from completely taking over the school?" Victoria said. "I suppose we could have called for help if that blasted idiot Pietro and his crew hadn't been so blind to what was going on, and I couldn't just go tell them, could I? Not after the way you all exposed me. They'd have shot me on sight. I've been tailing the Apathy all over the tunnels that I could still go through. The monsters don't seem to care if it's unstable, but I can't just go blowing up every tunnel either. They kept giving me the slip. They're good at hiding. I've heard of them before but I never saw one--"
"Can you get to the point?" Libby cut in.
"Rude much?" Victoria said snippily. But then she went on. "I couldn't hold them off enough, I'm sure most of the kingdom is under their spell by now."
"Why aren't you?" Meridian said.
Victoria pulled out a vial. "I'm boosting my aura faster than they can drain. But I'm almost out of it, I've had to take it constantly. I haven't slept in days."
"Somehow not surprising," Weiss said.
She couldn't believe Victoria would stay down here on purpose just to avoid getting arrested, when she knew the Apathy were around. The woman was as insane as before.
"If you fools knew they were here why did you come down?" Victoria said.
"To kill them of course," Meridian said. "My semblance makes me immune to them unless I'm exposed for a long time up close, as it turns out. And his boosted aura," pointing at Jaune. "But he used it all up."
"What a moron," Victoria said. "Don't you know you have to pace yourself when you have an enhancement aura?"
Jaune sighed.
"And to think these are the fools my son left me for," Victoria sighed.
"I think he left you because you're crazy and you almost murdered us," Weiss snapped.
Meridian gave her a warning look.
"That's probably my semblance's fault." He said.
Victoria glanced at Weiss like she'd clock her, but then she swallowed. "It better be," she said through gritted teeth.
Weiss bit her tongue. Don't provoke the mad woman, she told herself.
Actually, Victoria was more tame than they'd have expected after her exilir--could be the Apathy was affecting her, just not as much.
Suddenly, they saw a light up ahead and rounded a corner again and Pyrrha, Ruby, and Nora were there.
"There you are!" Nora said.
"Are you guys okay," Ruby ran up then stopped, staring at Victoria.
"Jaune!" Pyrrha followed. "Your aura..." she said slowly.
"He's tapped out," Hamish said. "We almost died. But look who showed up to bail us out."
"You saved them?" Pyrrha glanced at Victoria oddly.
"I remember you," Victoria glanced at her. "You broke my machine."
"I'm sorry," Pyrrha said quickly. "I know it was important to you."
Victoria slammed her into the wall. "You kept Kip from me!" Energy crackled over her hand. "Where is he?"
"He's up there," Pyrrha pointed. "Really...if you want to talk to him..."
"Let her go!" Nora cried.
Victoria glanced at Pyrrha, then slowly she stepped back.
"You're d--- lucky I don't kill people out of pure spite," she said.
News to them, Weiss thought.
Pyrrha gasped softly, but straightened.
Then she moved toward Jaune and put her hand on his shoulder. "Are you okay?"
Jaune looked grey.
"I ran out of aura," he said. "You were right, I couldn't protect everyone, even helping someone else."
"Jaune, we didn't know that there was so many of them..." Pyrrha said.
"Don't try to make me feel better by downplaying it, please," Jaune said.
"Yikes," Meridian muttered. "Come on Hamish, we're crowding them."
"Couples are so overdramatic," Hamish said.
"You're just jealous because you don't have a girlfriend," Meridian said. "Women are dramatic."
"I heard that," Weiss said.
"Are you going to overreact to it?" Meridian asked.
Weiss opened her mouth and then realized he'd just trapped her.
Hamish chortled.
"Eh, I'm just messing with you," Meridian choked on a laugh. "I like it, actually, keeps it interesting."
"A guy like you is going to get kicked upside the head a lot," Libby said.
"He already does," Hamish said.
Pyrrha watched them go then she said. "Fine, you messed up." She gave Jaune a warning look. "You should have paced yourself more. Does that help?"
"Not really," Jaune said.
"Then what do you want from me?" Pyrrha asked.
"I don't know okay!" Jaune said. "I just wish I was stronger!"
There was a pause.
He stared at the ground.
"Jaune, look at me," Pyrrha grabbed his face and made him look her in the eyes. "No one is strong all of the time. You have to let it go. It's going to kill you. And we need you alive. So let us help you, please. Would it be so bad to need us also?"
"You think I don't need you?" Jaune asked.
"Actually yes, you've been acting like that ever since I got back," Pyrrha said. "Just like you did at first at Beacon, but I thought we were past that."
"When I did need someone, it...didn't end well," Jaune said.
"I'm really sorry about that," Pyrrha said. "But it's not just up to me, you know. You need us all. You cannot carry this whole team. See what happens when you try? You all almost died."
She hit him in the chest suddenly--and Pyrrha could hit hard without even meaning to.
"If you ever do that again, you better survive so that I can kill you," she said fiercely.
Jaune laughed weakly. "I can't believe you just said that."
"Maybe I'm not as nice all the time as you think," Pyrrha said. "Maybe I'm too nice, actually. I should have said that weeks ago. I guess I was too scared to. I didn't want to ruin it. But that was selfish. I'm sorry. I failed you again."
"Don't say that," Jaune said. "Like I said this is my problem, it's not because of you. I shouldn't have made it out like that."
"I don't know how to help you with that."
"Actually I think that kind of helped," Jaune said oddly. "I mean...at least I feel dumb. If that makes you feel better."
"Slightly," Pyrrha said, almost slyly for her. "At least it's a start."
"I'm sorry I screwed up--" Jaune began and Pyrrha put a hand over his mouth, startling him.
"Just stop." She said firmly. "Enough apologies. We need to just make changes, not apologies."
"How?"
"I don't know," Pyrrha said. "I think we just had our first make up fight though."
"This didn't exactly feel like making up," Jaune said.
Pyrrha kissed him, to his surprise.
"Maybe that'll help,"she said, walking way. "Come on, before the Apathy come back."
Jaune stared after her for a second and then he blinked and picked up the pace.
[I find it oddly believable that Pyrrha would be this type of person. Must be the red hair.
Also she played him like a fiddle, but in a good way.]
