Species: Android (Technically cyborg, though more than ninety percent of her is mechanical by now.)

Appearance: She stands at five feet seven inches tall with a sleek, but well-formed and proportioned body.  Her synthetic skin, which looks and feels indistinguishable from a regular human's, is very pale, perhaps a little too pale in certain lighting.  Or perhaps it's the two-piece skin-tight black and slate grey combat suit she wears, with a very dark grey tri-weave undershirt plated by black light armor pieces.  The outfit is sleeveless and to allow greater flexibility is a two piece so her midriff is exposed.  A pair of small strap chord wires join the two parts on either side of her back and front, while also channeling a small amount of lightning dust energy through them to act as a dampener against electrical and magnetic attacks, encasing her in an invisible electromagnetic reduction field.  While powerful lightning attacks will still harm her, they will not damage the nerve-interlaced delicate dust circuitry within her body.  These chords and the lining of the armor plates emits a blue glow and gives her a somewhat futuristic look.  Her hair is black with a slightly reflective quality to it, giving it a beautiful sheen.  She normally keeps it tied back in a ponytail or a braid while fighting.  Her eyes are an extremely deep shade of midnight blue, but upon closer inspection have a glitter to them and look almost like a starry night when one can see the galaxy's many stars on display in the sky.  She normally carries herself with a serious demeanor and a neutral expression on her face.

Personality: In spite of being a cyborg, Sable often acts more like a machine than even Penny, who truly is one hundred percent mechanical.  She is stoic and thoughtful, preferring to scope out a situation before engaging.  Surprisingly, it is more her own shattered humanity than her cybernetics that make her this way, as she willingly chooses to block off a lot of her natural emotions because of the pain she associates with them.  She will open up a bit more to some people than others, but usually acts pretty stoic and even cold around her own teammates.  In spite of her cold demeanor she will not hesitate to intervene to protect her comrades if they are in danger.  The flipside of this is that she often operates in a morally grey area, usually under orders from the Atlus military as both a huntress and their weapon.  She may kill people simply because they are hindering progress with a mission.  In spite of that, she is loyal and though she rarely ever expresses it, she has compassion for her teammates.  She is highly confident in her own abilities, though she will defer to her mentor and teammate, Alabaster.  She normally keeps to herself, so as to hide her true android nature as best she can.

Backstory: A little girl growing up in the cold far northern reaches of the kingdom of Atlas, out on its frontier outpost, dreamed of growing up to become a huntress.  Named Sable Keeran, she trained hard from the earliest age she could, all for living out that dream.  However, two years before she was of age to join Atlas Academy, she came down with a strange illness.  At first, it seemed like nothing more than a cold and a weird nervous twitch in her wrists.  After a month of it slowly getting worse and worse, her parents made the long trek inland to the capital city to see a doctor, where she was diagnosed with an extremely rare and crippling disease, one that was slowly eating away at her respiratory and nervous systems, breaking them down piece by painful piece.  Within three years, the disease would more than likely kill the girl, and by then she'd barely resemble anything human anymore.  Needless to say, she could never become the huntress she'd always wanted to be, much less live long enough to complete the grueling coursework and training needed.  Sable's dream was now forever out of her reach, and she was heartbroken.  She rarely left her room, even to eat as she took numerous medications to slow down the inevitable degradation of her body.  Within three months, the skin on her arms and legs had started to crack and peel away, leaving bloodied and hideous blisters on skinny, bony shaking limbs.  At around the same time, her parents started to show symptoms too, even though they were assured it wouldn't be contagious.  It turned out the virus had mutated into a more potent airborne form that spread through them much faster, while Sable remained caught in a slow and agonizing death spiral.  Within four months her parents both succumbed to this new and more powerful form of the virus.  In order to prevent the spread of the disease, the Atlas military's finest medical officers and doctors throughout the kingdoms gathered, studying the bodies of the Keeran parents, and with her permission, experimenting on Sable.  If she couldn't be the heroic huntress she wanted to be, at least she might do the world some good in another way.  And so it was that they managed, through her secret experimentation, to find a cure for the disease that had ravaged her body.  Unfortunately, by then she was so horribly damaged that much of her human body was a festering rotting and useless shell.  At Ironwood's request, they decided to employ their newest technology to give this girl one more fighting chance.  They salvaged what they could of her human brain, removing the frontal cortex, cerebellum, and amygdala sections, along with the girl's spinal chord and some of the more important nerve endings throughout her body that still worked.  They also removed key arteries, along with her uterus, or what little they could of it and surrounding tissue.  Together, they incorporated what they could of her into a new android body, interweaving the nerve tissue with dust coils and artificial receivers, along with more complex artificial neurotransmitters and synthetic grey matter for her brain.  By the end, they were able to create a being that was more than ninety-five percent machine, but with Sable's memories and feelings, and of course, her aura.  In this new body, she finally had the chance to become the huntress she'd always dreamed of being, so that's what she set out to do.  However, the horrible pain she'd underwent, along with the neurological effects of the disease on her psyche caused her to become far more detached and cold, unlike the once sweet and happy little girl.  The loss of her parents, and her misplaced guilt towards their death, as well as the year of isolation she spent while being experimented on took their toll.

Aura Color: White (formerly) Clear silvery shimmer.

Semblance: Aural Adaptability Response.  Her body is intentionally built with an extremely potent series of monitors and sensory receptors that constantly relay information to the partially organic supercomputer that is her brain, adding on to its many normal functions.  Her semblance takes full advantage of this, as if she or her aura takes heavy damage from an attack, at the cost of at least forty percent of her total aura, her body will repair any damage done to her, and whatever flaw in her physical design that allowed that injury to occur will be corrected.  Since this alters her body's chemical make-up, it screws with design, so a fail-safe will deactivate the effect after just two minutes.  During those two minutes she will be all but impervious to the technique or damage type that wounded her in the first place.  An opponent would be wise to be quick to come up with a new strategy.  Because of the immense drain on her aura, she can only use this ability twice at the moment, and it will activate whether she wants it to or not if the conditions are met, so at times it can drain her aura completely if it is too low.

Choice of Dust: None, though her body is powered by several varieties of it.

Cybernetic Enhancements: Several upgrades to her original human senses were made.  A battery of chemo, thermal, kinetic, electrical, and light sensors throughout her body act as add-ons to the sensory inputs of her nerves, allowing her to gain and analyze more information about her surroundings.  Her eyes have been upgraded to see in any spectrum of light, giving her the ability to detect things that might otherwise not be visible, as well as see in the dark, or through thin smoke and debris clouds.  She can also detect trace chemicals in the air when close enough, allowing her to tell when an area may be hazardous to her teammates without protective masks.

Weapon(s):  Electric Stun Beam - Sable is able to store a large amount of electric energy in special containment cells connected to her eyes and discharge it as a bluish white laser beam from her synthetic eyes.  However, the beam has an effective range of about fifteen feet, and hits the target with an amplitude only strong enough to cause them a sudden jolt of pain and momentarily stun them.  It cannot kill or seriously wound unless the person is already in a bad way before being hit by it.  Repeated shots in quick succession can have a more serious effect but the laser drains her aura and power cell to charge it.

Freyja and Loki - Sable's black and silver pair of twin daggers.  She normally wields them with a reverse grip, using their speed and economy of motion to get in quick slices and stabs.

Martial Arts - Sable's true skills lie in her studies of martial arts.  She is currently undergoing training (and some programming) in Mantis-style Kung Fu, Muay Thai, and Krav Maga, and trying to find a happy balance combined style between the three.  She relies on the enhanced strength and stamina that come with her cybernetics.  She normally prefers pure hand-to-hand combat above all else, utilizing her eye laser to stun and enemy and follow up with a brutal continuous combo that can quickly wear down most targets with her fast yet heavy blows.  However, she's a long way from perfecting her fighting forms, so while she is devastating, she's hardly infallible.
