A/N: here's the first chapter of my RWBY rewrite and my first ever rewrite, hopefully ya guys enjoy. Also I'll be starting the rewrite when they get launched into the forest because I don't feel like anything would really change in my vision of the story.

Standing on the edge of a cliff

A group of hopeful students are standing on what look like launch pads as a middle aged man with tousled silver hair along with thin brown eyes. This man is wearing shaded glass spectacles along with an unbuttoned black suit over a dark green buttoned vest and green shirt, he is also wearing long dark green dress trousers and black dress shoes. He is also holding a mug of coffee in his hand.

"For years you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the emerald forest". The man speaks as he walks in front of the students as another person steps forward and this person is a middle aged woman with very light blonde hair that is tied in a bun along with a curl hanging down the right side of her face. This woman has bright green eyes and she is wearing a pair of thin ovular glasses with the rest of her outfit consisting of a white long sleeved pleated top that has a wide keyhole neckline and a high waisted black pencil skirt with a pair of black heeled boots.

The woman then says. "Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumours about your assignment of teams today. But to briefly explain how teams will work, you will be in these teams for your entire time at Beacon so it will be in your best interest to par with someone who you can work well with". Before the woman can finish many of the hopeful students begin to whisper to their friends about teaming up but these whispers are soon dashed as the woman slaps a riding crop on the palm of her hand loud enough to get everyone's attention, she then lets out a sigh as she then continues.

"Forming a team at Beacon is different than you might expect and how it works is quite simple really. The first person you make eye contact with after you land in the forest will be your partner for the next four years. Professor Ozpin would you mind explaining the rules of this exam". The woman then steps back as the man from earlier nods as he says. "Of course Professor Goodwitch, now your objective after getting your partner is to make your way to the northern portion of the forest where you will find a treasure waiting for you. Back to you Professor Goodwitch. Oh and one more thing before the exam starts, do not hesitate to destroy everything in your way... or you will die".

As Professor Ozpin steps back and takes a sip of his coffee with most of the student's eyes going wide from the final piece of Professor Ozpin's speech, as the woman from earlier once again steps forward and announces. "During this entire exam you will be monitored and graded but no matter what you kind of enemies you face in the Emeral Forest the instructors here will not intervene. The treasure you are looking for in the northern part of the forest is at an abandoned temple, each pair may only take one relic and then you must return to the top of the cliff. Now let your entrance exam begin"!

Without warning or chance for questions every single student is then launched in various directions into the dense and lush green forest. One of the students is a fair skinned girl with silver coloured eyes and neck length black hair with red tips, this girl is wearing a black long sleeved blouse with a high collar and red trim on the sleeves, she is also wearing a matching skirt and a pair of black stocking with black combat boots and to finish her outfit off is a red hooded cape.

"I need to find Yang. Yaaaaang! Where are you? What if she's already paired with some else? I mean there's always Jaune but he doesn't seem all that good in a fight even if he is a nice guy. Blake seems like she'd be a good partner and she seems so mysterious but I'm not sure I can hold a conversation with her. What about...". The girl's outward thoughts are cut off when she runs into a girl with pale skin and light blue eyes, there is a long vertical scar across her left eye, along with long white hair that reaches down to her waist. She is wearing an icy blue dress with high heeled boots.

The girls look at each other as the white haired girl turns on her heels and walks away as the black haired girl yells. "Wait Weiss where are you going! We're supposed to be... teammates". The black haired girl hangs her head as the named Weiss walks further through the forest only to look up and see a boy with messy blond hair and dark blue eyes. The boy is wearing a short sleeved black hoodie and over the top of the hoodie is a white diamond shaped chest plate along with white pieces of shoulder armour, he is also wearing blue jeans and black trainers.

The boy is stuck on the trunk of a tree by a small spear as the boy looks down and waves at Weiss who just turns around and walks back to where the black haired girl is still standing and grabs her by the hood and says. "This by no means make us friends Ruby Rose". The named Ruby throws her arms up in the air as she celebrates. "You came back". As Weiss and Ruby move further into the forest the blond haired boy flails his arms as he yells. "Can somebody get me down from here"! The boy then hears someone clear their throat as he looks down he sees a fairly tall girl with fair skin and long red hair tied in a ponytail, she also has bright green eyes. The girl is wearing an armoured overbust corset that is brown and gold coloured along with a red miniskirt and a red sash with a brown belt and finally a pair of brown heeled boots.

"Jaune? Do you... have any spots left on your team"? The girl asks the named Jaune as he replies. "Very funny Pyrrha, so... I guess that makes us partners huh"? Pyrrha then recalls her weapon and as Jaune falls Pyrrha quickly moves and catches Jaune in a bridal style, there is an awkward silence for a few seconds as Jaune decides to joke. "Thank you for saving me but in this position I think it's supposed to be the other way around". Pyrrha giggles a little as she puts Jaune down on the ground and the two begin their trek to getting the temple.

With Ruby and Weiss

"Why are we rushing"? Ruby asks as her and Weiss are running through the Emerald Forest with Weiss replying. "I will not be delayed because of your slowness I swear if I get a bad grade...". Weiss is cut off as Ruby appears right in front of her with a bright smile as Ruby replies. "See I'm not slow so no worries there". Weiss takes a couple steps back in shock as she says. "How do you do that"? Ruby keeping her smile replies. "That's my semblance". Weiss still shocked nods her head but before the pair can continue moving, they both hear a low growl and as they go back-to-back a group of large werewolves like creatures begin to circle them as both girls equip their weapons. "Alright time to show you what I can do and show you why I'm the best partner you could ask for". Ruby smiles as she pulls out her weapon that is a large red scythe, Weiss just shakes her head as she also pulls out her weapon which is a rapier that also seems to have a revolver chamber under the guard with the chambers filled with various coloured dust.

While this is going on a girl with lilac eyes and long thick wavy golden blonde hair, she is wearing a tan jacket that shows off her midriff underneath the jacket she is wearing a low cut yellow crop top along with a pair of black shorts and brown boots.

The girl then rolls on the ground as she lands and as she stands up she begins to search around the area looking in the nearby bushes and as she pulls one back she says. "Ruby are you in here"? The girl then shakes her head as she continues looking around as she shouts out. "Ruby, you here"! Suddenly the girl hears a bunch of twigs breaking as she turns around getting into a fighting stance only to see a girl with wavy black hair and dark amber eyes, she is wearing a black buttoned vest and underneath this she is wearing a white sleeveless crop top along with white shorts and black heeled boots.

The girls then stare at each other until the blonde haired girl looks up to see a pair of jaguar ears on top of the other girl's head with the blonde haired girl saying. "The names Yang so I guess we're partners now huh". The black haired girl nods as she replies. "My name is Blake, I did see you looking at my ears. Is there a problem with me being a faunus"? Yang shakes her head as she responds. "No problem here Blakey". Blake sighs as she walks over to Yang but before she can say anything the pair of girls then hear a movement all around them. "Finally some action, here I thought this whole thing was gonna be boring". Yang says as she activates a pair of gauntlets as Blake then stands with her back to Yang's as she pulls out her weapon being a short katana like blade with a ribbon attached to the handle along with a large dark grey cleaver like weapon in her other hand as a pack of large creatures burst out of the bushes.
