[(Y/N)'s POV]

Me: "You think you can beat me?"

I laughed.

Me: "I am the darkness that eats away at the corners of your sanity, worm. And I am the light that burns away regret, my child. You are making a grave mistake little one. And you will pay for it with your life."

[Days Earlier, 3rd Person POV]

It was a normal day at Beacon Academy, the sun was shining, the students were laughing and having fun, a normal, boring day. However today was the day Ozpin was to be visited by an old "friend". Ozpin, the headmaster Of Beacon Academy, was usually a very calm and collected individual, however the... person, that was visiting made even him nervous. Ozpin sat in his chair, head in his hands, dreading the arrival of this man. For he knew if he were to make a single mistake, say a wrong word, he would have been the cause of countless deaths. Ozpin nearly jumped as the elevator doors opened, he quickly looked to see Miss Ruby Rose.

Ozpin: "Miss Rose, what is it I can do for you?"

Ozpin needed to get Ruby out of his office as quickly as possible.

Ruby: "I just wanted to let you know the mission went really well!"

Ozpin: "Wonderful Miss Rose, now-"

The lights of the room suddenly flickered as the doors, once more, began to open. Ozpin's heart sank as his office grew slightly darker. The doors opened to reveal a man with (Hair Color) hair and (Eye Color) eyes.

Ruby: "Huh? What's-"

Ozpin was suddenly beside Ruby and had covered her mouth.

Ozpin: "Miss Rose, please follow my directions to the letter. Do not speak, do not look at him, and do not, under any circumstances, let him occupy your mind."

Young Ruby Rose was beyond confused at this point, but nodded anyway.

(Y/N): "Ozpin, what are you doing to that poor child?"

(Y/N)'s voice was soft and gentle. Why was Ozpin so nervous of the man's arrival?

(Y/N): "Nevermind that. I told you I did not want any insects crawling about while I was here."

Suddenly the male's voice was stern and filled with animosity towards Ozpin. Who was this man?

[(Y/N)'s POV]

I bent down to the height of the small girl and smiled.

Me: "Perhaps you should leave hon, this discussion is for adults."

She just nodded and scurried off towards the exit.

Me: "Such beautiful eyes. They make me sick. Filled with hope and passion. But fear eats away at her mind at the sight of us."

My voice switched from gentle to stern with each comment.

Ozpin: "Please let us speak."

I glared at the man before me.

Me: "You were not spoken to, worm. Of course my friend."

Me: "The maiden. What has happened to her. Your Worthless power should be equally divided amongst the chosen of our creations. Why is it not so?"

Ozpin: "Salem."

Me: "Salem? We've given her what she asked for and this is the way she repays us?"

I sighed.

Me: "I knew I shouldn't have allowed her corruption to grow like this."

I chuckled.

Me: "She's worthless. She thinks the maiden's power will help her defeat our creations? She underestimates us. We should just end her."

I shook my head.

Me: "No. we agreed to let her live. However she did agree to stay out of the conflict between humanity, so she is disobeying us."

I smirked.

Me: "Which warrants extermination."

I sighed.

Me: "We'll decide later. Thank you Ozpin, you've cleared things up for us."

With that meaningless interaction out of the way, I made my way to the exit and descended the tower. As I waited in the elevator I spoke openly.

Me: "Brother, who do you think will win?"

Me: "That's a pointless question. Darkness of course."

Me: "But what about humanity's potential. You saw that adorable little girl earlier. She had-"

Me: "Silver eyes, I know. That's one small child versus many corrupt souls. She will fail."

Me: "I disagree."

[Ruby's POV]

As soon as I got out of the elevator I collapsed. I kept hearing whispers in my head, I kept feeling eyes on me when no one was around, my legs gave out under some unknown pressure and I felt sick. I looked at my hands to see I was shaking. Why was I shaking?
