It was a normal day on the world of Remnant, and I, Isaac Foglance, have just been accepted into Beacon academy, which is cool. But i'm also been pursued by a guy who hates fanua like me with a passion, which is not so cool.

Cardin: Get back here you filthy pest!

Isaac continues running until he comes across Leon, who trips Cardin as he passes.

Cardin: What are you doing, i'm trying to catch a pest!

Leon: I see no pest here, only people.

Cardin: Listen here, if you're helping that fanus there i'm gonna...

Leon punches Cardin in the nose.

Isaac: Hey thanks, I owe ya.

Cardin starts to get up, only for Leon to kick him in the stomach.

Isaac: Heh, owe ya two now, i'm Isaac by the way.

Leon: Name's Leon.

Isaac: Hey maybe we can-.

Before Isaac can finish a hologram of Ms, Goodwitch appears.

Leon: And what's this.

Ms Goodwitch: Hello and welcome to Beacon.

Isaac: And who might she be for that matter.

Ms, Goodwitch: I'm Ms, Glynda Goodwitch, you are among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy. Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future huntsmen and huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world.

Isaac and Leon look out the window and see Beacon.

Isaac: Ah there it is, magnificent is it not?

Leon: Meh, i've seen better.

Jaune runs them past and vomits.

Isaac: Hm, I've heard of seasick, but sky-sick?

Leon: Heh heh, ya know Isaac, I think this is the start of a beneficial partnership.

Isaac: You mean a beautiful friendship?

Leon: Sure let's go with that.

About 20 minutes later the airship stops at Beacon.

Isaac: And here we are.

Leon: Yeah, I just hope our first day goes better than her's.

Isaac: What are you on about?

Leon points to Weiss chewing out Ruby, but then BOOM.

Isaac: Oh, yeah, let's keep walking.

Ruby: Hey, I said I was sorry princess.

Blake: Its heiress actually, Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee dust company, one of the largest producers of energy propellent in the world.

Weiss: Finally, some recognition.

Blake: The same company infamous for its controversial labor forces and questionable business partners.

Kayla:*shows up* as well as economically attacking and bankrupting its rivals before assimilating their assets and whatever else is left.

Weiss: Wa, how dare.

Isaac: Yeah, you two ladies sure tell it like it is.

Weiss: The nerve of, Ugh.

Weiss swipes dust and storms off.

Ruby: I promise I'll make this up to you!

Isaac: Yeah we should go, the opening ceremony starts in a half hour.

Leon: Good idea.

Isaac and Leon head for the courtyard.

Leon: Well I hope you're ready for another long winded speech?

Isaac: That's pretty much what today has and will consist of so yeah I guess I am.

Ozpin takes the stage.

Ozpin: I'll keep this brief, you have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step.

Ozpin leaves and Ms, Goodwitch steps up the the mic.

Ms,Goodwitch: You will gather in the ballroom tonight, tomorrow your initiation begins, be ready. You are dismissed.

That night

Isaac: Today was a good day, well aside from being chased by a racist.

Leon: I wouldn't worry too much, now we should.

Sees Weiss, Ruby, and Yang arguing.

Leon: We should try to get some rest, the key word being try.

Isaac: agreed on all accounts.

Isaac puts his head under his pillow.

Nina:*cuts in* Yuh girls gonna shut up or what!? Tomorrow's initiation so get some shut eye why don't ya!

The next day

Isaac and Leon wake up and listen to Nora go on for a moment.

Isaac: First it's the ice queen, now it's little miss sunshine.

Leon: what an amazing contrast.

Isaac: Well let's get moving, we got a big day ahead.

In the locker room

Isaac retrieves his blade staff.

Isaac: So Leon, who's team you thinking of being on?

Leon: Well, you're cool, but we'll have to wait until fate decides.

Isaac: I suppose you're right.

Intercom: Would all first year students please report to Beacon cliff for initiation, again, all first year students report to Beacon cliff immediately.

Isaac: Show time, let's do this.

Leon: Right behind you.

At Beacon cliff

Ozpin: for years, you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest.

Glynda: Now, i'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of teams, well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... Today.

Ruby: What, oh.

Ozpin: These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon, so it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well.

Ruby acts nervous

Ozpin: That being said,the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next 4 years.

Ruby: What!?!

Isaac: She just won't stop freaking out.

Leon: tell me about it.

Nora: see, I told you.

Ozpin: After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way, do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path, or you will die.

Jaune is shaken by this

Ozpin: You will be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics, each pair must choose 1, and return to the top of the cliff. We will guard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?

Jaune: Yeah, uh-- sir.

Ozpin: Good, now take your positions.

Everyone prepares themselves.

Jaune: Uh sir, I got a um question.

Weiss gets launched.

Jaune: So, this landing strategy thing, uh, w-what is it? You're like dropping us off or something?

Ozpin: No, you will be falling.

Jaune: Oh, i see, so like, did you hand out parachutes for us?

Nora gets launched.

Nora: Woohoo!

Ozpin: No, you will be using your own landing strategy

Jaune: Uh huh, yeah.

Isaac: Oh yeah!

Isaac gets launched.

Isaac: BONNNZZAIIIII.

Leon gets launched and doesn't move a muscle.

Isaac uses his semblance to glide on the wind while Leon suddenly appears standing on the ground, no sooner than when Leon lands he sees Kayla lands stuck in a nearby tree.

Kayla: so i guess we're partners.

Leon: Ha, this little adventure can't get more perfect, but yeah it looks that way, hey have you seen Coonie anywhere?

Isaac comes out of the brush.

Isaac: You talking about me?

Leon: Yeah I am, but I already got a partner, sorry.

Isaac: Nah, no big deal, I'll just find.

Nina slows her fall and lands next to Isaac.

Isaac: Her, I suppose.

Nina: Stuck wit' a trash rat, dat ain't chill.

Kayla: Hey, that's not very nice.

Isaac: Hey hey can we get moving, I'm sure we all want to finish this mission, right?

Nobody speaks

Isaac: Right?!

Nina and Kayla: *sigh* fine.

They all proceed to begin walking when Isaac suddenly stops.

Kayla: What, what is it?

Isaac: We got company.

No sooner than when Isaac said that, a pack of beowolves burst from the bushes and surrounded them, the beowolves then try to converge on them, only to be stopped by a bright flash. Everyone looks to see they're surrounded by shields of light.

Nina: Yo Kayla, that semblance is so chill.

Kayla: Thanks, now let's show these evil creatures what's what.

Kayla turns the shields into swords which start attacking the beowolves, one of which tries to attack Isaac, who responds by drawing his blade staff, slashing the beowolf a few times, and using wind to blow it off beyond the horizon. Nina harrases another beowolf with bullets before thrasing it with her chain, she then starts picking up speed and bashes the beowolf with such force that it's body knocks down a tree. Leon did little to counter the beowolf attacking him and dodged it by seemingly teleporting around, he then used his sword to wound the beowolf before smashing its head by changing the sword into the warhammer, the remaining beowolves proceed to flee.

Nina: Yo, that was so chill son.

Isaac: Yeah we are awesome.

Kayla: Yeah, we did it, now let's keep moving, the ruins they mentioned should be dead ahead.

The team keeps moving until they come across a temple.

Kayla: Good job team, we made it!

Nina: Yeah we did, now let's grab the artifact and split.

Once they get down there, Kayla starts weighing her options before Leon takes the white king and Nina takes the other white king, while Kayla is busy yelling at Leon, Isaac zones out and sees a lone figure watching him from the woods. The figure was wearing a black hood and coat that concealed every aspect of his being, he also appeared to have a mask of some sort that hid his face, Isaac was entranced by the figure until.

Leon: saac, Isaac!

Isaac snaps back to reality to see a Death stalker's tail frozen in a massive block of ice and that the other first year students have arrived.

Isaac: Wha, what is it?

Leon: we have our chess pieces, and we have to leave.

Death stalker suddenly breaks free of the ice.

Isaac: Uh yeah I can see that RUN!

Everyone starts heading for a massive ruin, only to stop when they see a nevermore on a high cliff screech at them.

Yang: well that's great.

Kayla: The light can't save us from both those fiends.

Isaac: Today can't get any worse.

Leon starts taunting the nevermore by tweeting.

Nina: Heh, like to see Kayla outrun that flying rat.

Deathstalker smashes through trees.

Jaune: Ah man run!

Everyone splits off while the nevermore takes flight.

Ren: Nora, distract it!

The nevermore throws feathers at Nora who responds by shooting bombs back, meanwhile, Isaac had scaled on of the towers and wondered what to do.

Isaac: Okay, maybe I should, no that won't work, or I can....

Isaac suddenly looks out and sees that the ruins columns and bridges resembled his circus act, he then gets an idea.

Isaac: Maybe if i swing from that bridge and jump off those pillars, I can attach to the nevermore and take it out.

Isaac leaps from the pillar as he shoots two small grappling hooks from his blade staff, he then swings from the bridge like a trapeze, bounds across the pillars, and latches onto the nevermore, only for his plan to go horribly wrong as it throws off his performance by looping and diving between the ruins. Leon bashes the deathstalker over and over before jumping on it's head and riding it like a horse, he then laughs as he sees Isaac screaming as he holds onto the nevermore.

Isaac: Someone do something!

Leon leaps from the deathstalker's head.

Leon: Well what do I do?

Isaac: Use a safety net or something!

Leon finds a small fishing net with a hole in it.

Leon: This won't save you from anything.

Kayla starts throwing swords of light at the nevermore as it breaks a bridge, Kayla falls and lands on it's beak, the nevermore then flips it's head, flinging Kayla onto it's back, while Nina just watches in amusement. The whole thing is then cut short as Ruby flies into the nevermore's head, and kills it by firing at it's beak and dragging it up a cliff. The nevermore screeches in pain and defeat before falling into the ruins with a loud crash.

Isaac and Kayla poke their heads out from the nevermore's body.

Isaac: Well that went well.

Kayla: Don't rub it in.

Leon: You two alright?

Isaac: we're being crushed by a giant bird, what do you think?!

The nevermore dissolves.

Nina: Let's just get back before something else shows up.

Kayla and Isaac: Good idea!

Back at Beacon

Ozpin: Russel Thrush, Cardin Winchester, Dove Bronzewing, Sky Lark. The four of you retrieved the black bishop pieces, from this day forward, you will work together as, team CRDL, lead by, Cardin Winchester.

Everyone applauds

Ozpin: Jaune Arc, Lie Ren, Pyrrha Nikos, Nora Valkyrie, the four of you retrieved the white rook pieces, from this day forward you will work together as, team JNPR.

Everyone applauds while Nora hugs Ren

Ozpin: Lead by, Jaune Arc.

Jaune: Huh, l-lead by.

Ozpin: congratulations young man.

Pyrrha punches Jaune, knocking him over while they leave the stage.

Ozpin: Kayla Tamago, Isaac Foglance, Leon Orchid, and Nina Peachpuff, the four of you retrieved the white king pieces, from this day forward you will work together as, team NIKL, lead by, Nina Peachpuff.

Everyone applaudes while Kayla starts acting all shocked and frustrated as they leave.

Ozpin: And finally, Blake Belladonna, Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, and Yang Xiao Long, the four of you retrieved the white knight pieces, from this day forward you will work together as, team RWBY, lead by, Ruby Rose.

Isaac and Leon see Yang hug Ruby.

Ozpin: It looks like things are shaping up to be an, interesting year.

Isaac: You got that one right.

In an unknown location.

Torchwick lights cigar while white fang agent brings in cart and hands him some cards.

Torchwick: Open it.

The agent opens case to reveal lots a dust crystals, Torchwick picks one up.

Torchwick: We're gonna need more men.
