The sound of screaming and mass hysteria became immediately apparent when a siren started blaring and it was announced that a grimm swarm of unprecedented size was knocking at Vale's gates. Not to mention that within moments, the White Fang would be throwing everything they had at the now struggling Atlesian army. After fighting a cloaked assassin and what they assumed was their friend and teammate, Nina and Leon needed a plan, fast.

Nina: This is bad Leon, what should we do?

Leon: Get your gang, and get out of town as fast as you can, I'll meet up with you if I survive.

Nina: *quickly pulls her scroll out and calls Axel* bro, bro, get the gang together and meet me at the helipad, we're leaving!

Axel: You don't have to tell me twice!

Nina hurried outside and fought her way through a panicking crowd and found her Axel eviscerating an ursa and the rest of her gang gathering up their bikes.

Nina: Axel!

Axel: *pulls his knife out of the ursa's chest* Nina, get your bike, we're getting outta here!

Nina mounts her bike and lines the rest of her gang up.

Nina: Alright follow my lead, I know the fastest way out of the city!

A beowolf shows up and pounces on one of the gang members.

Axel: Aw man, let's get outta here!!

Axel, Nina, and the rest of the gang took off into the streets of Vale, dodging grimm of all kinds along the way.

Gang member 1: *engine starts sputtering* Sorry Axel, this is the end of my run.

Axel: Don't say that, just try to keep up.

Gang member 1: Nah, it's been good, but now, this is the end for me. *skews off and slams his bike into a king Taijitu as his bike explodes*

Nina: Bro, we're losing members, fast!

A nevermore suddenly swoops down.

Axel: Power slide!!

Gang member 2: Wait, I didn't learn that!!

The nevermore picks him up and carries him away as Nina, Axel, and the one remaining gang member power slide under it. Eventually stopping in an empty part of town, normally, people would shop and the many stores that line the street before them, but now nothing remains, and the place looks truly dead.

Nina: Doesn't look like the grimm made it here.

Axel: Let's stop here, I need to refuel my bike.

A carrier filled to the brim with White Fang grunts flies in and lands on the far side of the road.

Gang member 3: *pulls out a baseball bat* you guys fix your bikes, I'll take care of these punks.

Axel: No, they'll kill you.

Gang member 3: They'll kill all of us if someone doesn't stall them, fix your bikes, hurry!

The gang member raises his baseball bat and charges towards the grunts as Axel drags his bike into an alley and pulls out a fuel canister.

Nina: What do we do Axel? we just lost our entire gang.

Axel: *fueling up his bike* Well we make a new gang, and you're gonna lead it.

Nina: But bro, I can't lead a gang.

Axel: You lead a team in Beacon, you can lead our new gang *finishes fueling his bike* now let's go before those White Fang punks find us here. *mounts his bike*.

Nina and Axel drive out of the alley, avoiding the White Fang grunts along the way, but the delusion of safety was shattered when a flock of griffons started hovering overhead.

Nina: Bro, we got company!

Axel: Just keep moving!

One of the griffons lands on the road, blocking Axel's way, and Nina retaliates by bludgeoning it's head with her chain as Axel throws one of his knives into it's neck.

Axel: No roadblocking!

Another griffon grabs the back of Axel's bike and tries to lift it up.

Axel: *aims his double barreled shotgun at the griffon's chest* And no free rides ether!

Axel shoots the griffon, who drops his bike and tumbles down the road.

Nina: Brother, brother!!!

The last griffon starts carrying Nina away.

Axel: *draws a combat knife* Hey, get you grubby claws off my sister!!

Axel jumps off his bike and lands on the griffon's back, he then proceeds to stab it as many times as his strength would allow, causing it to drop Nina back onto her bike, and sending Axel falling to the ground.

Nina: *stops* bro, you okay?

Axel: I'm fine, I've been through worse *retrieves his bike and starts it up again* now let's get moving, we got a lot more ground to cover.

Axel and Nina keep diving until they eventually came to the city gates, completely ruined by the exodus of grimm that came through an hour ago.

Axel: We're here, now let's go.

Nina: Where should we go?

Axel: we should go to Minstal, there are a lot of bandits to build a gang out of there.

Nina: Sure, lead the way.

The two of them drive through the gate, before they can do any farther however, an abundance of craters appeared on the road in the blink of an eye.

Nina: Woah woah, what's happening?!?

Axel: Stay close, and don't fall!

Axel carefully leads Nina down the crater filled road as tons more appear around them, but one misplaced turn later and Nina falls in one of them, and Before she can think, she's once again resting on the road, as if she'd never fallen in the first place.

Axel: Hold on, what kind of crater was that?

Nina on the other hand knew only one person capable of such a thing.

Nina: Never mind that, let's--

A powerful roar fills the air and shakes the ground.

Axel: What was that?

A giant dragon like grimm flies overhead, an odd liquid falls off it's body and lands nearby, and a pack of large Beowolves crawls up from it.

Nina: Drive, now!

They take off down the road as the giant beowolves give chase.

Axel: Sis, they're gaining on us!

Nina: I got this!

Nina swings her chain around and attacks one of the giant beowolves, but that attack barely slows it down.

Nina: It's not working!

Axel: Hang on, I got an idea, follow me!

Axel takes Nina off road into the woods, the giant beowolves following close behind.

Nina: Where are we going?

Axel: When I first came here, I saw a wide river, we can lose them there!

Sure enough, there was a wide, raging river up ahead.

Axel: Now give you bike all she's got, we're jumping it!

Axel and Nina jump over the river, just barely avoiding falling in, most of the giant beowolves manage to stop in time, but one of them falls in.

Nina: D-did it work?

The rest of the beowolves start leaving.

Axel: It's working, they're giving up.

Nina: But where's the road?

Axel: *points to his left* It's back that way, follow me.

After a few moments of driving, they found the road again.

Axel: Now if my hunch is correct, this road should take us right to Minstral.

Nina: Alright, lead the way bro.

With that said, they leave what's left of Vale behind them. Not too much later Nina feels an arm wrap around her waist, fingers tangling themselves in her belt loops as Leon rests his head on her shoulder, nose broken and blood caked on his face.

Leon: Don't lemme fall off Nin... I'mma... take a nap... *he falls asleep asleep, snoring softly.*

Axel: Woah wait, what's he doing here?

Nina: Call him the first member of our new gang.
