All was quiet in Beacon's secret vault. Just days ago, Kayla and her sisters had learned the Maiden of Autumn was assaulted and morally wounded by unknown assailants, and her unconscious and dying body was now hidden under Beacon academy, now she, along with her sisters and the most skilled knights in the Order were guarding her.

Helen: Um, you guys sure this is necessary? I mean, no one knows where this place is.

Isabel: Of course it's necessary, the face of our faith is on the line, and we will give our lives to assure her safety. *darts her eyes around as if looking for some unseen threat*

Isabel suddenly gets a call from her communicator.

Isabel: *answers* talk to me Ligero.

The sounds of battle and hysteria come from the other end.

Ligero: This is Legero of the 5th snowflake unit, shore up the defences, someone really powerful is trying to breach the vault, and she's not playing games! *the sound of an arrow flying through the air and hitting it's mark comes through* Aggh, uh, seal the vault, and s-save the Maiden. *the signal statics out*

Isabel: Ligero, Ligero come in! *draws her billhooked sword* Everyone get ready, someone's coming for the Maiden!

Everyone starts scrambling to retrieve their weapons and set up defences. When Jarrod clad in a suit of white gold armor exits of the elevator, accompanied by Pyrrha, Jaune, Ozpin, and an entourage of fully armed knights.

Jarrod: Isabel, have they breached the vault yet!?

Isabel: No sir, you're the first to come through here.

Jaune: What is this place?

Pyrrha: It's... a kind of vault.

Jarrod: Count yourself lucky young man, you have the opportunity to witness the birth of a new age.

Jaune: You've... been here before?

Jarrod: Of course she has, and you'll understand why in due time.

Jaune: What would this school need to... hide?

Ozpin leads Pyrrha to a large machine that features two pods, one pod was empty, and in the other slept the unconscious Maiden of Autumn.

Ozpin: Pyrrha, get to the pods! Jarrod, ready your forces for battle!

Jarrod: Of course Ozpin!

Ozpin: Mister Arc, if you would like to help, then aid Jarrod in standing guard here.

Jarrod stands up in front of his forces.

Jarrod: Brave warriors of the Order, I can hear it here, the lot of you are shaking in your armor, well such fear will not be tolerated here! Now listen, *points to the elevator door* whatever comes through there has made the mistake of messing with the Order of the Maidens, you are the best and bravest that Remnant has to offer, and I know, you all will assure they are not around to regret challenging us!!!

Jaune: *whispers to Kayla* wow this guy's really convincing.

Kayla: *whispers back* you should hear him on our monthly grimm hunts.

Jarrod: Our most glorious Maiden shall give her life to save us all, and so I ask you, will you not give your life to save her's?

The Order cheers in response to Jarrod's words.

Jarrod: Then sound the call of war, and let us change the face of history!!

The Order cheers again, but their ecstasy was disrupted when the elevator door opened, and Cinder stepped out.

Jarrod: *draws his glaive and points it at Cinder before speaking in a calm voice* greetings vile evildoer, are you prepared to take on the might of the Order!?

Cinder: Sorry old man *knocks an arrow* but my date's not with you.

Cinder fires at Jarrod, who dodges and cuts the arrow clean in half. Cinder then fires another arrow, which flies past Jarrod and strikes the unconscious Maiden in the heart.

Jarrod: No!!

The entire room becomes engulfed in a heated blaze before everything goes dark. When the lights come back on, the Order had their weapons raised as if about to fight, but Cinder was just standing there.

Christine: Um father, what does this mean?

Jarrod: It means, that our new Maiden has been chosen, all hail the new Maiden of Autumn!

Most of the Order kneels, all except for Kayla, Christine, and Helen.

Jarrod: *approaches Cinder and kneels* Most honored Maiden, the Order pledges it's undying loyalty to you, what is your first command?

Cinder: My first order is *points at Ozpin and Pyrrha* paint the walls with their blood!

Jarrod: *raises his glaive as his expression darkens* as you wish.

Ozpin: *raises cane and takes a fighting stance* Jarrod, don't do this!

Jarrod: Sorry Ozpin, I can't defy a Maiden, we came as friends, now only one of us leaves this place alive.

Kayla: *raises her pike and steps in the way* No father, I won't let you!

Jarrod: Kayla, stand aside, I command you!

Kayla: Never!

Jarrod swings his glaive at Kayla, who blocks the attack.

Jarrod: You dare talk back to me, you dare defy your way of life.

Kayla: I will no longer take orders from you, or from that villain who calls herself our goddess!

Jarrod: HOW DARE YOU!!!

Jarrod releases a bright flash, Kayla stumbles back blinded, and Jarrod takes advantage by disarming Kayla and forcing her her knees.

Jaune: Hey, leave her alone!

Jaune tries to save Kayla, but an entourage of knights stands in his way.

Jarrod: *raises his glaive* first you don't listen to me, then you talk back to me, then you dare to defy our Maiden!! You are a disgrace to everything the Order stands for, and you are no longer my daughter!!!

Jarrod plunges his glaive into Kayla's heart, but before it can go all the way, Helen fires a crossbow bolt into Jarrod's shoulder, knocking him over.

Cinder: Jarrod, pull your forces back.

Jarrod: *tries to pull the bolt from his chest* I-I can still fight my Maiden.

That was the last thing Kayla heard before she fell unconscious, when she regained consciousness, the first thing she heard was a steady beeping. She opened her eyes to find herself in a small cave in a hospital bed, with a metal device attached to her chest. Cristine was sleeping in a corner using her warhammer as support.

Kayla: What happened, what is this place?

Christine: *wakes up* Kayla, you're awake, Helen get in here, Kayla's awake!

Christine rushes to Kayla's bedside as Helen enters.

Kayla: Sisters, what happened, where are we?

Christine: This is the Longblade garrison, a secret hideout of the Order's located just outside of Atlas.

Kayla: What about Pyrrha?

Dead silence fills the room.

Helen: P-Pyrrha fought a horrific battle with that Cinder person, and, and... She was slain.

Kayla: O-oh, we'll mourn for her later. Now tell me *motions to the metal device* what is this thing?

Christine: Your heart was critically damaged when fath-- I mean, Jarrod impaled you. Had it not been for Helen, you'd be dead too. That thing on your chest is the only thing keeping your heart beating now.

Helen: If I may ask Kayla, what do we do now?

Kayla: Where did Jarrod go?

Christine: He mentioned something about Minstral before he and the Order retreated, I think he's there.

Kayla: *springs out of bed* we leave immediately!

Helen: N-n-no Kayla, you need to rest.

Kayla: No, we need to stop the Order, but we and the other survivors need to do it under a new name.

Christine: And what is this new name?

Kayla: From this day forward, we shall be know as "The legacy of the Sisters"!
