Unforseen Complications
Blake POV
I wake up the next morning and look around the bedroom, my eyes land on (Y/n)'s sleeping face. I grow a smile as I remembered the events that unfolded last night, I lean up and kiss his cheek, get out of bed, get dressed and head downstairs. I go to the kitchen and make a pot of tea, I then hear footsteps coming into the kitchen and I am joined by mom.
Kali: Good morning, sweety.
Blake: Good morning, mom.
Mom then pours herself a cup and we start talking.
Kali: You know you're a lot like me.
Blake: *slight chuckle* What do you mean?
Kali: A cup of tea after a night of passion with your man.
Blake: MOM!
Kali: *laughs* It's ok, sweety. Your father may be hard of hearing these days but I most certainly am not.
I look down and blush in embarrassment, Mom then goes to the cupboard and pulls out a small vial with some sort of liquid in it and hands it to me.
Blake: *still blushing* What's this?
Kali: Moon milk. It helps keep any, unwanted, responsibility away, if you catch my meaning.
Realizing what she meant I poured some of the moon milk in my tea, mix it in and drink.
Kali: I mean assuming you didn't use protection.
Blake: *nearly spitting out her tea* MOM!
Kali: *laughs* Trust me trying to move while you're 8 months pregnant is damn near impossible.
Blake: *drinks the rest of her tea* You won't tell dad will you?
Kali: Oh no, I would hate to see my future son-in-law killed before the wedding.
Blake: Mom, we're still young.
Kali: So was I when I married your father. You know when you know.
Blake: *smiles* I-I think I do. He makes me really happy.
Kali: That's all I need to hear. And your father doesn't act like it but he accepts and approves of (Y/n) too. Just don't mention your late night activities in front of him.
Mom and I both laugh together, until I hear more footsteps coming downstairs and (Y/n) walks into the kitchen. He limps over to the counter and makes himself some coffee and drinks the whole pot, I can't help but giggle to myself, I really do love him more than anyone else.
Timeskip 2 Weeks Later
3rd Person POV
(Y/n) has been getting stronger, and healing more quickly, and while he still limps a little it's not very noticeable, he has started training again and is regaining his former strength with Blake's help and supervision of course. But today, (Y/n), Sun and the Belladonna family are in the entryway of the house, while Ghira himself reads through the speech he's about to give to the entire village.
(Y/n): I can read it if you want Ghira.
Ghira: It's not that, it's just there's no easy way to say this without scaring everyone.
(Y/n): There rarely is. The truth often hurts but the people deserve to know what's happening and we'll be right there next to you the whole time.
Ghira: *smiles* *deep breath* Let's not keep them waiting.
Ghira then opens the door and steps outside to where a large crowd of Faunus are waiting. Of the people in the crowd there are news reporters waiting to record the event. (Y/n) also sees Corsac and Fennec in the crowd and starts to get mad, Blake, however, sees this and takes his hand in hers, (Y/n) looks at Blake and smiles then takes a deep breath and calms down. (Y/n) puts on a cloak because Blake felt it's still not safe for him to show his face to the world, Ghira then addresses the crowd.
Ghira: Thank you all for assembling here. I wanted to take some time to address some of the rumors that have been circulating our island. I believe it is important for the people to understand the truth. No matter how you feel about the about the human race, I think we can all agree that the event, now known as the Fall of Beacon, was a tragedy. A tragedy that will set both man and Faunus-kind back. While the main aggressor is still unknown, we do have official confirmation that Adam Taurus the leader of a powerful splinter group working inside the White Fang, was partially responsible for these attacks. His actions not only tarnished the reputation of an organization originally created to bring peace and equality to all, but to our entire race. With each day that this man remains unpunished, it becomes increasingly difficult to condemn those that look down upon us.
Ghira takes a moment to let his words sink in with the crowd, (Y/n) keeps a wary eye on Corsac and Fennec, who still have their heads bowed. Ghira then continues....
Ghira: Recently, a spy from the same splinter group set their sights on this very home. My own daughter, Blake, and her friends did their very best to apprehend this individual. While they were unsuccessful after being assaulted and seriously injured, they were successful in obtaining the assailant's scroll. *brings out said scroll* With this, we have been able to ascertain that Adam Taurus has plans to overthrow the current leader of the White Fang, Sienna Khan, and take over the reins himself. His radical plans do not stop there, the documents on this scroll proclaim his next target to be Haven Academy and its attached CCT tower. Their plan is to strike on the last full moon before the beginning of the fall semester, roughly two months from today. I've already sent my swiftest messenger to the government of Mistral, but I believe we have a greater responsibility. My relationship with the White Fang has been an interesting one. years ago, I led the organization to help try and create a world where I, and every Faunus who wished, could walk alongside the human race. And while I believe we made great strides towards this goal, it was made clear to me that the people both in and out of the White Fang wanted faster results. So I stepped down, and Sienna Khan was appointed as my successor. It's true that I do not condone many of her methods. What I do condone is what Sienna fights for: the idea that the Faunus are, and should be, equal. Adam Taurus does not seem to have that goal in mind. What he has done benefits no one but himself. I think it's time that the Faunus showed the world that we are equals! Time that we snuff out this Splinter group, and restore the White Fang to what it once was! *crowd cheers* To do this, I think the answer is clear: we must go to Haven and protect it at all cost! Before we go any further, I'd like to invite my daughter and a friend of hers who's father I considered a very dear friend to come and share their stories. Not only is Blake a former member of the White Fang, but they are both survivors of the Fall of Beacon.
Blake and (Y/n) walk up to the podium, Blake holds (Y/n)'s hand tighter as she's nervous, Ghira then reassures the pair, suddenly from the crowd.
Ilia: Traitors!
Ilia reveals herself in the crowd, White Fang mask included, Blake then starts to get a little worried about this, as Ilia warned her that the White Fang were going to try and stop them.
Ilia: Cowards...After everything the humans have done to us, everything they put us through, you're asking us to help them?!
Ghira: I know we haven't been treated fairly...
Ilia: Where was their help when the Dust Companies treated our people like slaves?! Where was their help when kingdoms hunted Faunus just for being who they are?! Where was my help when my parents were killed in a dust mine?!
(Y/n) finally has had enough, he pushes past Blake and Ghira, against Blake's protests, he throws off the cloak and reveals himself, armor and all and roars to get the people's attention.
(A/N): Best I could do, sorry.
That definitely got the peoples attention and everyone looks at (Y/n) with some fear and shock that he's alive.
(Y/n): You want to know where I was standing when I saw the White Fang's true colors. Right here in the market of this very village, I had suspicions that the White Fang were no longer acting in the best interest of the Faunus people. I'm sure you remember me making protests to stop the White Fang, right? I got into an altercation with some of the White Fang members and my dad, Richard, tried to stop them and what did they do? They murdered Richard right in front of me and I was thirteen so yeah I ran away but how would you respond if you saw your parent die while you could only helplessly watch? But now I am back and I am here to truly stand up for what the Faunus people deserve. I have witnessed first hand what atrocities the White Fang have done, I saw them wipe out entire villages of humans, men, women and children, all of them slaughtered like pigs. I fought against Adam Taurus himself, twice, and nearly died both times because I was standing for what was right. Doing the right thing is never the easiest option, but I did it anyway because doing the right thing is necassary to gain equality. Ilia, where were the White Fang when Beacon fell? Murdering innocent people with no discrimination as to who, human, Faunus, you didn't care. You just killed them because they stood in the way of Adam's goal. You want to know who the real traitors are, go look in the mirror.
(Y/n) takes a deep breath and lets what he said sink in, he then felt a hand on his shoulder and he looked to see Blake smiling with a tear threatening to fall. He turns back to the crowd who all still a little in shock of what they'd been told. (Y/n) then grabs their attention again....
(Y/n): Everyone, please take this time to return home and think about the decision laid before you. Will you go to Haven and stop the White Fang from destroying anymore innocent lives, or remain here in uncertainty. Any who choose to stay here and not fight, I'll understand.
With that the crowd disperses and the White Fang retreated to their hideout. Ilia walked up to Corsac and Fennec as they discuss todays events.
Corsac: Well, that didn't go as planned.
Fennec: Indeed brother, it would seem the lion did survive his run in with the stampede. King Ben and Adam will want to know of this.
Corsac: Yes but one thing remains clear, the lion and the Belladonna need to be silenced.
Fennec: Agreed.
Ilia doesn't say anything but just half listens while going through what (Y/n) said at the speech, should she question where her loyalties should really lie. Unbeknownst to everyone in the hideout, there is a young lion faunus listening in on the conversation. Meanwhile, (Y/n) and the Belladonna's are in the living room and Blake is sitting next to (Y/n) with their hands interlocked.
Ghira: I know that must've been painful for you to revisit those memories, I wish there was something I could've done to help your father that day.
(Y/n): You couldn't have known what was going to happen with the White Fang. And I never blamed you, any of you, for anything. If I hadn't gotten into that fight in the market, maybe dad would still be here.
Blake: Stop it. Stop pinning everything on yourself, you didn't kill your dad, the White Fang did. You were only standing up for what's right.
Blake leans in and kisses (Y/n) on the lips for a little bit until-
Ghira: Ahem.
(Y/n) pulled away and looked at Ghira in embarrassment, but Blake didn't care and kissed (Y/n)'s cheek and placed her head on his chest plate.
Who is the mystery figure? What do the White Fang plan to do to our heroes? Will the people sit back and watch or will they fight? Find out next time!
