The Power of the Roar

(Y/n) POV

I've been reflecting on the Roar itself for several hours now, and I'm starting to get the feeling that if I can't control the Roar then maybe I just need to let it go. I wish I could talk to my dad again, he'd know what to do. As soon as I think this, however, I hear a faint noise coming from the clouds overhead. Suddenly, a similar reflection of my dad appears in the sky, just like when he appeared to me at the Fall of Beacon.

Richard: Hello son, it's been a long time.

(Y/n): Dad? How did-

Richard: I've always been able to speak with you because the ones we love...

(Y/n): Live within us. Dad, for the first time since I got my scar, I finally feel like myself again.

Richard: Does that mean you are healed?

(Y/n): Maybe. I know now that my scar doesn't make me me. And maybe the Roar doesn't either. I think it's time I return the Roar to the Monastery. You were a great leader and you didn't have the Roar. I think I can be a great leader without it too. I'm ready to give it back.

Richard: I understand, son. But you cannot return the Roar to me. I never possessed it. The Roar was never mine. The Roar came from there. *points to Rocky outcrop* Cikha Escarpment. I know you will do what is right, son. And remember that I will always be there for you if you need me.

(Y/n): Thanks dad. I really miss you.

Richard: I miss you too. Good luck, King (Y/n).

Dad's reflection disappears and I look at Cikha Escarpment and decide to climb it and see what I find. After a little while I make it to an outcrop looking over a valley of rock.

(Y/n): Um, hello?!

Suddenly a similar light appears and another Lion Faunus appears in the sky and greets me.

Askari: Greetings, (Y/n). I am Askari.

(Y/n): Askari, you were the first true king of the Faunus.

Askari: Yes, and I know you are the new king.

(Y/n): I am. And I always thought the Roar was what made me leader of the Faunus people.

Askari: And now. What have you learned?

(Y/n): I've always been a leader. Even before the Roar. It's who I am. But I'm not sure if I can control the Roar anymore. So, I've come to give it back. I don't need it.

Askari: Good. That means you are ready.

(Y/n): Ready?

Askari: Yes, (Y/n). It is time. Time for you to learn everything the Roar can do.

I smirk at Askari, ready for whatever test he has in store for me. I'll take on whatever challenge comes my way.

Blake POV

We have finally escaped the haunted house and Weiss has set it ablaze. We all load up onto the trailer and Yang takes off. We also came to the realization that Maria once had silver eyes just like Ruby, and that she was known as the Grimm Reaper. Qrow gains an astonished look as Maria got done explaining her story about how she lost her eyes.

Qrow: You're the Grimm Reaper. You're a legend. I based my weapon off yours. I wanted to be just like the Grimm Reaper.

Maria: Well, I'm just a disappointment, so you're well on your way.

Blake: How can you say that?

Maria: Child. A Huntress is supposed to protect people to the bitter end. After my surgery, I was too afraid to fight. You shouldn't aspire to be like me. Especially since some of you are clearly stronger already. It's good to know your generation seems capable of inheriting this world. I'm just sorry I didn't leave it in better condition for you.

Suddenly, a scroll starts buzzing, Ruby reaches into her pocket and grabs her scroll and gains an excited expression.

Ruby: It's Jaune!

Yang: *stops the bike* How?!

Ruby: *answers call* Hello?

Jaune: *over phone* Ruby! Oh yes, thank you! I've been looking for your scroll signal since we got to the city.

Ruby: City? *realizes* Wait a minute.

Ruby waves her scroll around and then points where the signal is strongest and Yang books her bike up the hill and spread out before us is-

Yang: Ladies and Gentlemen. Welcome to Argus.

(Y/n) POV

Over the next couple of days I have been training myself in the ways of the Roar with Askari and I still have a bit to learn. So, after the Lion Guard fends off another attack from Makucha, again, I tell Eric that he needs to lead the Guard on patrol today. I, meanwhile, head back to Cikha Escarpment.

(Y/n): Askari, I'm back.

Askari appears.

Askari: Greetings, (Y/n).

(Y/n): I'd like to continue my training.

Askari: Of course. You've already made great progress. But remember. Only one who is willing to let the Roar go completely can truly master it.

(Y/n): I understand and I'm willing to let the Roar go. I know I don't need it to lead.

Askari: Very well. The Roar has great power and if you control your emotions it can be precise as well. Now... Stay calm, focus, and roar.

(Y/n): ROOOAAARRR!

I focus the roar and lift a large rock into the air before it bursts into pebbles.

(Y/n): Wow.

Askari: Well done, (Y/n). You've mastered that skill quickly.

(Y/n): Thank you. I've had some help learning to stay calm, and I want to learn more.

Askari: Very well.

As I practice using my roar to make more boulders float in the air, I hear a cheer from behind me.

Simon: Whoo Hoo! Oh, the Roar is back!

(Y/n): Simon. Murwi.

Murwi: How did you do that?

(Y/n): It's a little hard to explain.

Simon: Oh, I know! You've been practicing!

(Y/n): *sigh* Yes, I guess you could say that.

Tyler: (Y/n)! Murwi!

(Y/n): Tyler, what's going on?

Tyler: Bad guys. A lot of them and they're already at the main temple.

Murwi: What about the Guardsmen?

Tyler: I think they're trapped in the main temple.

Murwi: We have to go now!

(Y/n): Go, I'll be right behind you.

Simon: Oh, yeah! Look out, bad guys. Here comes the Roar like you've never seen it before.

Murwi and Simon leave with Tyler and Askari appears to me one last time.

(Y/n): Thank you, Askari. I'm ready.

I turn and race to the temple and see that there are a lot more bad guys than normal, Murwi and I race to the fight, I quickly look it over and smirk.

(Y/n): I can handle this. If that's okay with you?

Murwi: Be my guest.

I step forward and start to summon the Roar, everyone looks at the rumbling thunder clouds gathering overhead.

Eric: (Y/n) is gonna use the Roar? With all these innocent people around?

Simon: It's okay. You'll see.

(Y/n): *to self* Stay calm, focus and... ROOOAAARRR!

The first wave I focused on Makucha's muscle and knock them out, then switch to his rangers, and finally Makucha himself. I see several of his lackeys charging my friends, I use another Roar to create a tornado and lift a barrel of spears and use the spears to pin them to the ground unable to move. Two more of Makucha's muscle try to flank and as they charge I let loose another Roar, this time I simply lift a boulder out of the ground and let them run into it. Murwi then warns me.

Murwi: There goes Daria, like a rat off a sinking ship.

(Y/n): On it. Simon, get ready!

I use another Roar to create a small tornado underneath Simon and use it to get him ahead of Daria and take her out. Makucha makes one last ditch attempt to get at me, I simply make another tornado underneath Bruno and land him on Makucha and flatten him.

Bruno: *cocky* Twende Kiboko.

Murwi: (Y/n), the Guardsmen and my mother are still trapped in the temple.

(Y/n): Right. ROOAARR!

I use the Roar to summon a bolt of lightning to get rid of the debris and free the Guardsmen. Needless to say the others are very impressed.

Balyio: What just happened?

Saerek: I'm not sure, but I think we won.

Murwi: I've never seen anything like that in my life.

(Y/n): Me neither. I'd like to convince these guys to never attack this place again.

Murwi: Go for it.

I summon the power of the Roar one last time and use a tornado to scoop up every bad guy around and fling them far, far away from here.

Blake POV

Jaune: Argh! *punches the wall cracking it*

Ruby: Jaune!

Jaune: Everything we've done was for nothing!

Blake: That's not true.

Nora: Really? Cause it sure sounds like it.

Blake: I, uh-

We've just told Team JNR everything we've learned from the lamp and how Salem is immortal and is thousands of years old.

Ren: If Salem can't be killed, then how are we supposed to win this?

After some silence.

Jaune: Wow. Great plan everyone.

Oscar: Look, none of this is great we know, but we're not the bad guys here.

Jaune: *without turning to Oscar* Are we sure about that?

Oscar: What?

Jaune: He's in your head, isn't he? *turns and walks aggressively to Oscar* Are we sure you didn't know already?

Weiss: He didn't know any of it.

Juane pushes past Weiss and grabs Oscar by the collar and pushes him against the wall.

Ruby: Jaune!

Jaune: How much longer can we even trust him?!

Yang: Jaune!

Jaune: How do we even know it's really him? What if we've been talking to that liar the whole time?

Blake: JAUNE!

I ignore everyone's shocked expression at me yelling at Jaune, I walk to Jaune and place a hand on his and ask in a calm but confident tone.

Blake: Jaune, please let Oscar go.

Jaune reluctantly lets Oscar go and as I help calm Oscar down, Jaune walks upstairs.

Yang: Is he going to be okay?

Nora: I don't know.

Ren: I think it's best that we all take some time to ourselves.

Ren and Nora head upstairs and I make sure Oscar is okay when Yang pipes up.

Yang: Wow, Blake. I think (Y/n) is rubbing off on you.

I can't help but blush as I smile and think about (Y/n), everyone then decides to take a little time to breath. As I sit on the couch by myself, I remember (Y/n) gave me something before we split up. I quickly check my pockets and find the little black box, I hesitantly open in and inside is a beautiful golden band with a diamond adorning it.

I almost immediately tear up as I realize what (Y/n) wanted, I place the ring on my finger as I too want it.

Blake: My answer is yes. I love you, my Lion King.

(A/N): So, you finally truly control the Roar and triumph over the bounty hunters and Blake finally has an answer for you when you return, should be smooth sailing from here, right? Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter and if you did hit that like and follow button. I wish you all a wonderful day and I'll see you all next time. PEACE OUT!!!
