So last time Liam helped Jaune pick out a suit for the school dance and helped him work up the nerve to ask his sister to the dance! We also checked in on Summer Rose to see how she was holding up. Now it's time for our heroes to relax and have fun!

Liam has just finished getting his suit on as he looked himself over one last time in the mirror before exiting his and Neo's bedroom. "Oh sweetheart you look wonderful!" Diane said as she hugged her son. "Thanks mom, are sure you okay with watching Kaida tonight?" Liam asked his mom as he gave her a worried look. "Of course dear! I've been wanting to spend time with my Granddaughter anyway!" Diane said with a laugh as she smiled at Liam. "Mommy!" Kaida said as she pointed towards her mother as Liam turned to look at his girlfriend.

            Liam blushed as he looked his girlfriend over, no matter how many times he sees her in a dress, she's always beautiful. "Mommy you look so pretty!" Kaida said as she ran up to Neo and hugged her. "Thank you sweetheart! What do you think Hubby?" Neo's sign typed out as she gave Liam a suggestive smile. "Ice Cream Cone, you are not good for my health sometimes you know that?" Liam said as Neo playfully slapped him on the arm. "You two have fun!" Diane said as she and Kaida waved goodbye to Liam and Neo as they made their way to the school.
Once the two arrived they spotted Jaune and Pyrrha sitting at a table together. "Glad to see you two finally made it." Jaune said as they sat down at the table with them. "Yeah, just making sure mom was okay with taking care of Kaida for the night." Liam said as patted Jaune on the back. "You look beautiful Neo!" Pyrrha said as Neo smiled at her boyfriend's sister. "I don't know Pyrrha, I think you might have me beat!" Neo's sign types out as Pyrrha blushed in embarrassment at her words. The two couples chatted for awhile until a slow dance song started playing over the speakers.
                Pyrrha led Jaune to the dance floor as they joined the other couples before beginning to dance. "So shall we go Ice Cream Cone?" Liam asked as he turned to look at his girlfriend with a curious look in his eye. "You know slow dances aren't my thing, I prefer more energetic dances." Neo's sign typed out as she smiled at Liam. "Don't worry, you'll get your chance to show off your skills." Liam said as he gave her a quick peck on the cheek. "Don't you mean we? After all it's no fun with you." Neo's sign typed out as she took Liam's hand in her own.
                Liam spotted another couple dancing happily. Liam nudged Neo before pointing at the couple in question.

"I'm happy they finally are able to be honest with themselves. No one should have to hide their feelings out of fear of being judged." Neo's sign typed out as she smiled at the sight of the couple. Neo spotted Ruby by herself before, also noticing Sun standing a distance away from the leader of Team RWBY. Neo nudged Liam before pointing at Ruby and Sun with a smile.
              Liam returned his girlfriend's smile before they both got up and approached Ruby and Sun. Liam pulled Ruby onto the dance floor, while Neo led Sun onto the dance floor. "Liam, didn't you come here with Neo?" Ruby asked as Liam quickly twirled her around before Neo dances by with Sun. In one fluid motion, Liam and Neo got Sun and Ruby to be dancing together. Liam and Neo quickly returned to their table. "Don't think I didn't see what you two did there." Liam and Neo turned to see Yang smiling at them. "What can I say, we like to match make." Liam said as he leaned back in his chair.
             Before their conversation could continued however, Tango music started playing over the speakers as Neo grabbed Liam's hand. "You planned this didn't you?" Liam said as his girlfriend gave him a devious smirk. The couple made their way to the center of the dance floor as a spotlight shined on them as they began to dance.

Once Liam and Neo finished their performance, they were met with a roaring round of applause from everyone in the ballroom. Liam and Neo day back down at the table where Jaune and Pyrrha were waiting for them. "Way to show everyone up you two!" Jaune said in a joking tone as Liam laughed at his words.
            "Hey, Ice Cream Cone loves it when we dance for an audience."Liam said as he grabbed his jacket off the back of his chair before putting back on since he took it off before Neo took him to the dance floor. "I didn't know you could dance like that big brother." Pyrrha said as she smiled at Liam. "That was my doing as well, I've always loved to dance. I just had to get your brother to join me in my love for it." Neo's sign typed out as she smiled at Pyrrha. "You know I can't say no to you Ice Cream Cone." Liam said as they shared another kiss. The entire night was filled with fun and laughter for everyone at the event, it was a night to remember.
                Outside of Beacon were three figures two female and one male as they surveyed the academy from behind the closest trees in the forest to the school. These individuals were Cinder Fall, Emerald Sustrai, and Mercury Black. "So, what are we doing at this dance again?" Mercury asked in a bored tone as he kicked a stone. "We're here to steal information from Beacon you idiot! Now either shut up or leave!" Emerald growled angrily at her coworker in annoyance. "Geez, fine I'm just saying standing around like this is boring!" Mercury whined before looking around in absolute boredom.
             "Would both of you quit it! I'd rather not report back to Salem that we failed to get the intel she wanted!" Cinder barked as she glared at the two of them. "Sorry Cinder." Emerald said as she hung her head in shame, while Mercury simply scoffed. Cinder once again turned her attention towards the school, all she had to do was wait for the dance to start, then she could sneak in amongst the students. "Hey guys, did Salem say we would have backup?" Mercury asked as Cinder and Emerald turned to look at him in complete and utter confusion.
             "What are you on about this time Mercury?!" Emerald asked in an irritated tone as she glared at him. "Who's the freak in the white robes over there?" Mercury asked as he pointed to a female figure wearing all white robes, with glowing yellow eyes and what appeared to be blue skin under her hood. The figure also was holding a scythe as she slowly approached the trio. "What are children such as yourselves doing out so late at night?" A distorted female voice came from the monster as she tilted her head to the side. Cinder drew Midnight, her twin swords/ bow and arrow, Emerald got out Thief's Respite, her dual revolver/sickle weapons, and Mercury prepared his combat boots Talaria as they all took a fighting stance.
Although the trio noticed glowing yellow eyes from all around them as Mannequin Heartless surrounded them. "Children Play for Mother." Mother Reaper said as the Mannequin Heartless lunged at the trio. Cinder cut one of the Mannequin Heartless down the center, only for it to stitch itself back together. The Mannequin Heartless began to float almost like a ghosts as they flew towards the trio. Two picked up Emerald and Mercury by their arms as they flailed around hopelessly. Two more each grabbed one of Cinder's arms and held her in place as Mother Reaper approached.
"My, My aren't you a pretty child! Although so selfish and greedy! Mother Reaper will have to punish such a naughty child!" Mother Reaper said with her signature crazed cackle before collected dark energy into a sphere in her palm. The sphere of dark energy was the size of a basketball, Mother Reaper jammed the sphere into Cinder's chest as the woman collapsed from the foreign energy that was forced into her body. The Mannequin Heartless released Emerald and Mercury as the ran up to Cinder in order to help her up to her feet, but she was out cold.
"What did you do to her?!" Emerald growled as she glared at Mother Reaper. "I just punished a naughty child, she hasn't been a very good friend to either of you. I'm sure if you even tried to question her, she'd burn you to a crisp right?" Mother Reaper said with another cackle. Emerald flinched at Mother Reaper's words as she could not deny the truth of her words. "Well I'd love to stay and get to know you kiddies, but a little mouse has been chasing me, so I need to bid you ado. Farewell children!" Mother Reaper said with another cackle as she and the Mannequin Heartless retreated.
"Mercury, we have to get Cinder back to the base!" Emerald said as she looked at her friend with a worried expression. "What about the intel? Salem will have our heads if we come back empty handed!" Mercury argued as he took Cinder's other arm. "Cinder's life is more important then some intel!" Emerald growled back at Mercury. "That Mother Reaper Lady was tight you know, are you sure we should be worried about Cinder?" Mercury asked as Emerald flinched at his words as she looked away. "Alright Emerald we'll do it your way, your lucky your cute, you know that?" Mercury said as Emerald blushed before the two started to make their way home.

So that was the school dance! Looks like Cinder and her lackeys weren't able to infiltrate the dance and get the intel they needed. At least everyone had fun at the dance, a nice change from the rough patches they had been hitting lately! What's up next for Liam and his team? What other dangers are lurking in the shadows?
