Trying to find Yang and Ruby whilst the area is clear, I see a group of 6 people: Yang, Ice Queen, Blake and three other people who's name's I've forgotten.

My eyes get caught on her arm. The bitter soberness hits me. "Yang?". She doesn't answer. I hear Blake trying to apologise to her, while she lays silent.

"I told them we should have just left rather than go back after Pyrrha and Jaune. Neither them two or Weiss or Ruby have come back!" the yellow-haired Faunus says. "Where have they gone?" I ask. "I don't know, I think I saw Ruby climbing up the tower" he replies.

Suddenly, I hear someone yelling and see a bright white light radiated from the tower followed by a deafening screech from the Grimm Dragon which then freezes, hooked onto the tower. I have a flashback.

"Those born with silver eyes are destined to lead the life of a warrior. It is said that even a single look from a silver-eyed warrior can bring a Grimm down. Their powers will be shown under immense stress, and their eyes will emit a flashing white light".

"Is that why Summer is stronger than the rest of us?" "Yes. Once she activated her power, she was able to train with it to fight against Grimm. Ruby will have the same abilities".

"What was that?" The Faunus asks. "I don't know" I say, lying "But I'm going to get the others". Then I see Jaune and Ice Queen. "Ruby and Pyrrha are still up there!" I hear Ice Queen yell. "Go to the ship. I'll get them out from there" I say, starting to head to the tower. I must get Ruby.

Reaching the lift, there's no platform. Sighing, I transform into a Crow and flying up to the top. I hide and get back to human form so they don't see me transforming. I don't want to explain that today.

With the scythe out ready, I brace myself for any immediate threats to attack me. They don't.

Taking a few steps, I see a woman in red on the floor whom I now recognise as one of Salem's pawns: Cinder Fall. She's missing an arm and an eye and is unconscious, likely from her injuries. Next to her, I see Pyrrha's circlet and some ashes on the floor. Knowing what this means, the soberness hits me again with twice the magnitude as before.

I picked the circlet up and held it in my hand whilst I looked for Ruby: the final person whom I knew was up here.

Then I see her- on the floor, white as a sheet, and unconscious. I pick her up and her weight is no challenge for me. Exhaustion is all over her face. "It's all right, I gotcha kiddo. I gotcha" I said to her, even though she couldn't hear me.

I somehow managed to get her out of the building and then carried her all the way to a ship. She never moved but she had a pulse, so I knew she was alive.

The ship landed in Patch and with a favour to the captain, I got it to land just outside the house. Tai was waiting outside. "What happened to her?" He asked, worried. "I'll explain once she's put in her bed. My arms are killing me".

Once I got her in, I sat down at the table and had a well needed drink. "Beacons fallen... Salem's associates infiltrated Beacon and there's a massive Grimm Dragon that's sat on Beacon tower". "I found Ruby unconscious at the top of the tower. Her silver eyes were activated. She's got the same powers as Summer" I told him, not wanting to be overwhelmed in questions.

"It happened then" Tai says silently, sadness and fear in his eyes. "All anyone saw was Atlas' soldiers attacking innocent people and then nothing. We were left in the dark. The Grimm came for Signal. I tried contacting you with my Scroll once we fought them off but I didn't have a signal. Has the CCT tower been destroyed?".

Sensing the negativity, I didn't reply. I've had enough of dealing with Grimm for this week. Tai decided to get his Scroll out.

"Ugh, nothing" he says, trying to contact numerous people. "Just turn it off. Without the CCT there's no point". I replied, not in the mood. "Communication down across the entire kingdom... no way to contact the outside world... and Ozpin's still missing. "Yeah" I replied, solemnly. "This is bad, Qrow". "Yeah, this is bad".

I got up to go and see Yang. She's not smiling and is just staring blankly at the wall. "Hey firecracker" I said, trying to cheer her up. "What happened? Where's Ruby? Where's Pyrrha?" She asked, speaking to me for the first time since it all happened. "I found Ruby at the top of the tower, but Pyrrha's gone". I solemnly replied, not wanting to lie to her. She turned her head to the wall and froze, not speaking again.

"She's been through enough, Qrow" Tai said aggressively behind me. "Well she's going to find out at some point, better to stop her worrying. It's not going to stop her healing". He sighs and heads into Ruby's room to see if she's woken up, knowing that she probably hasn't because of all the trauma and stress endured.

I take another sip from my drink. It's going to be a long few days.
