Welcome to Beacon

"You know, just because I say something, I don't need a punch in the face." Ice said, getting back up. I socked him in the face again. Ruby looked over my shoulder at Ice.

"Is he gonna be okay?" She asked. I scoffed.

"Ah, he'll be fine. So, what brings you to Beacon?" I asked. Ruby seemed to be saddened by the question.

"Last night. After you two left, I was confronted by Professor Ozpin, the headmaster of Beacon. He seemed interested in me, so he moved me up two years so I could get into Beacon. I had to leave all my old friends at Signal behind." She said sadly. It was then I noticed her eyes. They were a silver hue. I may be fifteen, but I've never seen someone with silver eyes before. Very peculiar.

"Ruby, your eyes. They're silver." I said. She looked at me again.

"Ozpin said the same thing last night." She replied.

"I think they look cute. Just my opinion though." I said, trying not to creep her out. She started blushing again.

"T-thank you. Nobody's ever been this kind to me. I'm not good at making friends." She said, pushing some hair out of her eyes. I scooted closer, nudging her shoulder.

"Same. Ice and I don't have the best track record with friends. Guess people like us stick together." I said, chuckling. Suddenly, Ruby was being hugged by a tall blonde girl.

"Oh, I can't believe my baby sister is going to Beacon with me! This is the best day ever!" She said, hugging Ruby tighter. Ruby looked like she was in a lot of pain.

"Please stop." She wheezed as the blonde girl released her. Ice tapped my shoulder.

"Okay, guy talk." He said, pulling me away. "Dude, this is a big mistake. We haven't even gone to Signal or someplace else! We need to get out of here!" He said, looking around nervously. I sighed.

"Would you just relax? We'll be fine, I just know it! Besides, I think we can actually make some friends here. I mean, we got Ruby, blonde girl with Ruby, Ruby, Ruby...Ruby..." Ice realized what was going on, getting a smug look on his face.

"Oh, I see what's going on here. You have a crush on Ruby, don't you?" He asked, leaning in. I felt my cheeks turning pink.

"WHAT!? No I don't! I mean, why would I like her round little face, her... beautiful shimmering silver eyes, her adorable little giggle... her hair..." I said, trailing off towards the end. I shook my head and snapped out of it to see Ice looking at me with an even smugger look on his face. "Do you want to get punched again?" I asked, raising my fist. Ice threw his hands up.

"I didn't say anything." He said, turning around. He's right about Ruby, but I'm not giving him the satisfaction of knowing that.

(Meanwhile with Ruby and Yang)

"But I'm so proud of you!" Yang said in her normal happy attitude, releasing her sister. Ruby looked up at her older sister.

"Really sis, it was nothing." She said, trying in vain to calm Yang down.

"What do you mean? It was incredible! Everyone at Beacon is gonna think you're the bee's knees!" Yang replied, still excited.

"I don't want to be the "bee's knees", okay? I don't want to be any kind of knees! I just want to be a normal girl with normal knees. Besides, I didn't do it alone! I had some... help." Ruby said as a shade of pink covered her cheeks. She looked past Yang and right at Taro, who was still talking to Ice. Yang noticed this and followed her sister's gaze to the boy in question. She looked back at her sister with stars in her eyes.

"AAAWWWW! My little sister has her very first crush! THAT'S SO CUUUUUTE!!!" Yang said, extremely excited. Ruby turned back to face Yang with a deeper shade of red on her face.

"N-no! No no no! It's not like that at all! I just met the guy, how can I... like... him..." Ruby retorted before getting sidetracked, staring at Taro. Yang just looked at her sister suspiciously before laughing. Ruby pulled her hood over her head, the red on her cheeks matching the red of her hood. As Yang continued to laugh, Taro and Ice began walking back.

"Hey sis, here comes your boyfriend again!" Yang laughed. Ruby covered her now completely red face with her hands.

"Yang, for the last time, he's not my boyfriend!" Ruby yelled.

(Back to Taro)

Ice and I made our way back to where Ruby and her sister was. Ruby was covering her face with her hood and her hands. I moved her hands out of her face and jokingly wrapped my arms around her.

"You sure about what you said, sis?" Ruby's sister said, laughing. Ruby looked at her sister.

"Shut up Yang!" She yelled. I moved my arm off of Ruby as she and Yang looked out the window. That's when I got a good look at Beacon Academy itself. It was huge to say the least.

"Woah. That's bigger that I ever thought it would be." Ice said, stars in his eyes.

"Oh, wow! Look, you can see Signal from up here! I guess home isn't too far after all." Ruby said, gazing at Signal Academy from above.

"Beacon's our home now." Yang replied. Suddenly, a tall skinny blonde boy ran past, groaning. He looked like he was about to puke. "Ugh. Well, guess the view isn't for everyone." Yang said as Ruby's face turned ghostly white.

"Ew Yang, gross! You have puke on your shoe!" Ruby said, pointing down.

"Gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross!" Yang panicked, running towards me.

"Hey, stay back! I don't want that stuff on me!" I yelled. Yang changed direction and ran at Ruby.

"Get-get away! Get away from me! Get away from me! Get away from me! Get away from me!' Ruby squealed, hiding behind me as the ship landed outside the Academy.
