The art of Ki control
"Okay, I think I have the basics down. Now for some more... advanced techniques." I said, looking down at my book. Shortly after I unlocked my Ki, I managed to find a book on Saiyans and their ways of fighting. Fortunately, it has a section of different techniques they used. I flipped through pages and found one that intrested me. "Okay. Instant Transmission. What do I need to do here?" I looked over the picture of the technique in the book. It showed someone putting two fingers to their forehead. I repeated the action and nothing happened. Alright, what am I doing wrong? I thought about what I could be doing wrong, but as I thought, I noticed the picture of Ruby I kept on my nightstand. I then thought of Ruby when suddenly I appeared in the hallway next to Ruby. She was in her pajamas.
"Taro? Where did you come from?" She asked.
"Huh. So that's what Instant Transmission does. Good to know. Oh, I came from down the hall. I think I can teleport now." I replied. Before Ruby said anything, I noticed Jaune leaning against the door to Team JNPR's dorm. "Hey Jaune. You lock yourself out again?" I asked. Jaune quickly turned, startled.
"OH, uh nope! I got it!" He replied, holding up his scroll.
"So where've you been lately?" Ruby asked. Jaune stuttered before sighing and slumping against the door.
"I messed up. I did something I shouldn't have and now Cardin's got me on a leash and Pyrrha won't even talk to me... I'm starting to think coming to this school was a bad idea. I'm a failure." He said sadly. As always, Ruby smiled.
"Nope." She said.
"Nope?" Jaune replied.
"Nope. You're a leader now, Jaune. You're not allowed to be a failure." Ruby answered. I crossed my arms.
"But what if I'm a failure at being a leader?" Jaune asked.
"Nope." I said, sitting next to him. Ruby did the same on the other side. Jaune chuckled.
"You know, you guys aren't the easiest people to talk to about this kind of stuff." He said.
"Nope. Jaune, maybe you were a failure when you were a kid, and you might've been a failure the first day we met, but you can't be one now. You know why? Because it's not just about you anymore. You've got a team now, Jaune. All three of us do. And if we fail, then we'll just be bringing them down with us. We have to put our teammates first and ourselves second. Your team deserves a great leader, Jaune. And I think that can be you." I smiled wide, standing back up.
"Couldn't have said it any better myself." I said. Ruby smiled and hugged me.
"Thanks. Night, you two." She said, entering her dorm. I placed two fingers to my forehead before looking at Jaune.
"Stay strong, good buddy. You can do this. Okay, I hope this works." I said, thinking of Ice. Without another word, I was transported back to my dorm. Alright, I consider that a success. I crawled into bed and began to doze. We have a field trip tomorrow. Must be ready.
(In the forest)
Surrounded by pink. That's something I never thought I'd ever say. Well, pinkish red. The forest was covered in the red leaves from the trees. It was absolutely stunning.
"Yes students, the forest of Forever Fall is indeed beautiful. But we are not here to sightsee. Professor Peach has asked all of you to collect samples from the trees deep inside this forest. And I'm here to make sure that none of you die while doing so. Each of you will gather one jar's worth of red sap. However, this forest is full of the creatures of Grimm, so be sure to stay by your teammates. We will rendezvous back here at four o clock. Have fun!" Glynda said, letting us go. My team and I ventured into the forest away from the others. We found a clearing full of fairly large trees.
"Okay, how do we get the sap?" Ice asked. Wendi stepped forwards.
"Well, if we can get through the bark and find a way to retrieve the sap, it should be-" Before Wendi could finish, Lance grabbed his weapons, which were twin sickles and stuck them into the tree. He motioned for Ice to pull up. Ice grabbed the sickles and turned Super Saiyan, pulling up. The bark tore away from the tree as sap started to flow down the sides. "Or we could do that. That works too." Wendi finished. I grabbed a jar and started filling it up. Before long, all four of us had our jars.
"Alright team, I consider that a job well done. Let's go find the others." I said, leading the way. About two minutes later, we found the others. I leaned against a tree while the other teams got their jars. As I sat, Ice sat next to me.
"So how's the whole 'Super Sandwich' mumbo jumbo going?" He asked. I raised an eyebrow.
"You still don't believe me about this? Even after you yourself transformed and I grew a tail?" I replied. Ice shook his head.
"Nope. The only way I could is if I could do something no other human could." Wait a minute... lightbulb!
"Ice, give me your hands! I'll prove what I'm saying." I said, grabbing his hands. "I'm going to teach you the art of Ki control. Close your eyes." Ice rolled his eyes. "Do it!" Very sarcastically, Ice closed his eyes. "Good. Do you see anything?"
"I see a little glowing dot." He replied.
"Good. That's your inner energy. Now try to touch it." I replied.
"How can I do that if it's in my head?" He asked.
"Not with your hands... with your mind." Slowly, Ice started to glow.
"Wait...I... I see something." He said shakily.
"What do you see?"
"I see... I see you... and Ruby and Weiss. You look beaten up. Your hair is silver. Wait, I see an arm. It's... it's me! Something's glowing. Something is...!" I released Ice's hands as two balls of ki formed above them. Ice opened his eyes and saw the energy spheres in his hands.
"You believe me now?" I asked. He nodded yes.
"I... I don't believe it. This is insane!" He said. I stood up.
"You think that's strange? Watch this." I placed two fingers to my forehead, teleporting behind him. Ice quickly stepped forward. "That's called Instant Transmission. It's a little technique our ancestors created." Suddenly, Ice's eyes went wide.
"What's that weird glowing around everyone?" He asked. I turned to see nothing, but I know what's he talking about.
"Oh. That's their Aura. We can actually see it instead of using our scrolls to measure it." I replied. Suddenly, Cardin's team came running past, screaming about an Ursa in the area. While Yang interrogated one of them, Ice and I looked from where they came. Someone's aura had spiked. I ran over to Ruby and Pyrrha, drawing Crimson. "We need to get over there now!" I said frantically. Ruby deployed Crescent Rose while Pyrrha grabbed her weapons. I turned to Ice. "Ice, you and the others get Professor Goodwitch! This could get very ugly!" Ice and the others raced off as Ruby, Pyrrha and I ran to the source. As we arrived, we saw Jaune holding off the Ursa while Cardin sat in distress. Jaune dodged and rolled under the Ursa's attacks, allowing Cardin to back away. The Ursa sliced at him, but he blocked with his shield, decapitating the beast with his sword. My jaw hit the floor.
"What just happened!?" Ruby asked. I looked at her.
"I don't know. I really don't know. Either way, let's get outta here." I said. Ruby wrapped her arms around me as I used Instant Transmission to teleport us back with the others.
