-5 months later-

Melanie and I have been in Ohio for five months now and we are just now starting to get used to it. Every night has been hell for both of us, Mel would cry every night for Jason, and I would to. I know I'm the one that left and it was the right choice but it still hurts.

But it hasn't been all bad, we have made some new friends and even Maegan has came out to see us. She says that Jason has been lost with us, he is always at the gang house either cussing, drinking, smoking, or passed out. It's sad to hear but he kinda deserves it.

Melanie's first birthday was a couple months ago, I celebrated with that gang and even Jason, but it was over FaceTime because I wasn't ready to face him even if it was Mel's first birthday. I mean he is her dad and I can't keep him away from her. He should be there for her and important events.

Right now Mel and I were sitting in the small living room of the apartment that I'm renting. She was walking around saying her ABCs, I was just watching her and smiling when the phone rang. I picked it up and answered it.

"Hello?" I say. There was a couple seconds of nothing then a voice spoke up.

"Hey". The voice was slow, low and tired. You could hear the sadness in it. It was Jason.

"Hi, would you like to talk to Mel she has been saying her ABCs for the past hour" I say with a small laugh, Mel has stopped and looked at me almost waiting for me to call her over.

"Umm I wanted to talk to you" he says. I sigh and run my hands through my hair.

"Jason I don't want to" I simply say. I was about to hang up when Jason spoke up.

"Kelli, it's been five months, we have to talk about it soon. I'm still your husband and I should be able to talk to my wife and see her and my babies" he says. I stay quite because I know he is right. I have stayed away to long and kept Mel and the baby away from him.

"Your right, its just i was so hurt that I didn't know what to do and running away was the best option" I say with a tear falling down my face. Mel runs over, easily climbs up on me and wipes it away. I laugh and kiss her head.

"So are you going to come back soon?" He ask, he cuts me off for I could say anything.

"Please baby, I have been a mess without you. I don't sleep, eat anything without you by my side. And if you come back, I swear on my life that I will never do that again. I will man up for you, Mel and the new baby. Please Kelli, one last try baby I love you" he says with hopefulness and sadness in his voice.

I smile and take in everything. To be honest I was going to to back anyway because I miss everything about Jason and so does Mel.

"Well I think it's up to Miss Melanie" I say. I turn and look into she little brown eyes that match Jason's.

"Do you want to go home to daddy?" I ask her.

"Yes yes yes yes yes yes" she says while standing up jumping on the couch. I laugh and so does Jason.

"Well ok i'll get a flight soon and we will be back out there" I say.

"Ok baby girl, I love you and I'm so sorry" He says. I smile at the words.

"I love you to" I say before hanging up. Mel is still jumping up and down on the couch.

"Melanie calm down" I say. Her jumping is making me sick, well everything with this pregnancy makes me sick.

"Surry" she says in her little voice. I laugh and pull her onto my lap. My stomach is kinda big but not really so she can still fit.

"Ok, so do you want to out and eat?" I ask her. She nods fastly and gets up and runs into our room. Its only a one bedroom apartment, I didn't want to spend to much money, I wanted to have a lot just in case something happened.

I stand up and follow her in there. I see her going through the bag, just throwing the clothes all over the place.

"Stop" I say with a "parent" voice. She turns and looks at me.

"Now pick up all the clothes that you just taken out and put them back in the bag" I say. She shakes her head no, she is such a drama queen, I guess she gets it from me.

"Fine but then we won't go eat." I say. She sighs and begins to pick up all the clothes. I watch her and when she is done i watch over to her and pick both of us out an outfit.

After we both got changed, I grabbed my purse ,the keys and my kid and walked out of the apartment and down the hall. I had Mel on my right hip and my purse on my left shoulder. I was half way down the hallway when I heard someone yell my name. I stop and turn to see one of the new friends I have made here.

"Hey Kelli, where you guys going?" Jaden asks. I smile and turn to face him more.

"We are going out to have some mommy and daughter time" I say kissing Mel's forehead, she snuggles down more into my shoulder.

"Aww that great, so I was wondering if you would like to come to a party with me tomorrow, I can have Polly watch Mel if you want" he say. I smile then sigh.

"I can't I'm going back to Texas tomorrow" I simply say. He gives me a weird look then I continue.

"Jason called and he was right it has been long enough and its not fare keeping the kids away from him" I say. Jaden just shakes his head and runs his hands through his hair.

"After everything he has done to you, and your still going back to him" He asks. Ok, the pregnancy hormones are starting to take over.

"Look, he might have screwed up but he is still my husband and I love him. I forgave him for me, so I could feel better! And he is an amazing father and should be In his kids life" I say before walking off. I hate when other people try to get into your business.

I walked out to the car and buckled Mel in then got into the drivers seat. I pull out of the apartment garage and down the street.

"So missy where do you want to go?" I ask Mel while looking in the rear view mirror at the same time.

"Donald's" she says with a smile on her face. She means McDonalds, I nod and keep driving. I take a second to look back at Melanie, her big carmel eyes, he small yet lump lips she gets from Jason. She gets everything from him except her hair, which is blonde like mine, and her attitude.

We finally pull into McDonalds and I get out, walking over to Mel's door and getting her out. I carry her inside and sit her down as soon as we get inside but she still holds into my hand. I walk over to the counter and wait to be called up. While watching a look around the room and my eyes stop when I land on a face the I kinda remember. Before I could focus on it more, I'm called up.

"Hi umm I need one small girl kids meal, and a number 10 with a coke to drink" I say. The women types it in and then says the total. I give her the money and step to the stand and wait.

"Mommy, play" Mel says tugging on my shirt, she points to the indoor play area.

"Ok when you eat your food ok" I say. She nods and looks at the other kids playing.

"Here you go, and cute little girl by the way" the women says handing my tray.

"Aww thank you, say thank you Melanie" I say looking down at her.

"Tank you" she says before running off to a table for two. I make my way over and sit the tray down and start eating. The whole time I felt eyes on my, every time I would turn to see, no one was there.

About 5 minutes later Mel asks if she can play and I say yes, from where I'm sitting I can see her perfectly. I was sitting there for about five minutes before someone was standing beside me. The put a full envelope on the table and said.

"Tell Jason I said hi, and I'm sorry for all the pain I caused you guys" the person says. Before I have time to look at the man he walks away. I wanted to open the envelope but I wanted to be around Jason just in case anything happens.

"Mel lets go" i say standing up, I put the packed full envelope in my purse and walk over to her. She sits down and shakes her head no.

"Melanie now" I say with a "parent" voice. She just sits there and crosses her arms.

"Fine, you can stay there but I'm going to go see daddy and me, him and the baby will life happily ever after. Would you want that" I ask her. Slight fear and sadness runs through her eyes. She slowly shakes her head no and almost starts to cry.

"Then you have to listen to me ok, look when we get to daddy, i will have him build you a play set just like this ok" I say walking closer to her. She perks up and little and stands up, running over to me. I grab her hand and walk to the door. I go out to the car and buckle her in.

"Mommy" she say playing with my hair.

"Yes baby" I say once I'm done buckling her in.

"I miss dada" she says with tears coming to her eyes. Great, if I wasn't so selfish and running away from the problems my baby wouldn't be crying right now.

"I know baby girl, but we will see him soon ok" I say before kissing her on the head and closing the door. I walk around to the drivers side and get in, heading back home to start packing.
