“Marilyn, that’s a Knight ship and it has just sent out a distress signal. We have to stop and help whoever’s in there" Zurich said

“more delays? Must we be the one to rescue whoever’s in there? Why can’t you just understand that I so badly want to see zach?"

“well your desperation to see zach will have to wait. We have to help whoever’s in there. They’re our fellow men”

And they immediately stopped beside the abandoned ship and Zurich, Raymon and 2 other men crossed over to the abandoned ship, to rescue whoever was in there.

“Mom, I thought the search party was supposed to go out today, to go look for Zach and Eve? How come they’re all sound asleep?” Asha asked her mother, who just smiled at her.

“Oh Mother, What did you do again?” Asha asked worriedly, earnestly tired of her mother's tactics.

“I sincerely begged Lioned to give our children more time, but he refused. So I had to take matters into my own hands. Do you know Eve is pregnant?"

“Pregnant” Asha asked, incredulous

"Well I’m not sure, but she was having morning sickness and vomiting a lot. So that can only mean one thing right?" Malinda said still smiling

“What exactly did you do to the search party?"

“I gave them all a sleeping medicine that will wear out in one to two days time."

"No mother. I suppose no one can dissuade you from this your pointless matchmaking scheme"

*sighs*

"That reminds me, where is Fred mother? I haven’t seen him around for quite some time now."

"Oh he went on a little vacation. According to him, for four to five months. He claims he doesn’t have anything to do here at home."

"No way! Zach? how come you’re the one trapped inside this ship? And with a girl for that matter.  Did you decide to take a vacation?"

"Now Zurich, it’s a pretty long story. Zurich, meet my friend Yvonne and Yvonne, meet my best friend Zurich."

“pleasure meeting you” Eve said with an easy smile, offering her hand.

“Oh the pleasure’s all mine beautiful” Zurich said smiling and raising her hand to reach his lips.

“Zach, I’d like to speak with you privately.  Something has come up at the company”

“what happened? It’s okay, you can speak with her here” Zach said, when Zurich was a little hesitant to speak

“Ranko has made up some very serious allegations that need imminent attention. Knight industries is in terrible danger”

“How bad?"

"Bad. Capable of bringing the whole K.I. down. You need to go back to Boston right now and clear the air.  All of this wouldn’t have happened if you haven’t left in the first place."

And Eve’s heart constricted.
Zach was going back. She knew he wasn’t hers, she couldn’t keep him forever, but this was just so soon. He didn't love her, he had a fiancée he was getting back to. She was just a fling to him.  He just used her to scratch an itch. Eve reminded herself again, as she had done countless times. Suddenly, she began to feel uneasy and immediately begged the guys to excuse her, and as unsuspicious as possible, she ran to the toilet to empty what she had just eaten.

“Don’t place all the blame of all this on me Zurich. You know exactly why I had to leave”

“Marilyn? Tell me, if you can’t handle her as a fiancée, how exactly do you expect to handle the bitch as a wife? Trust me, you’ll go insane.  Can’t you see the both of you don’t fit? Even a blind man can see that, it’s obvious you don’t love her anymore, so exactly why are you with her? because of pity? Does she look like a lost dog to you? Do you pity her that much? Well let me tell you something Zach, this lost dog is the one person that’s going to bring you down! Do you know that Marilyn’s on the ship right now? She’s been crying since, that she wanted to see you.  Best friend, she’s bad news.  Do something sensible for once! Well, why don’t you run along and meet your so called fiancée Zach? Thereafter, we’re heading straight back to Boston”

“what about Yvonne” Zach asked, heart beating widly

“we’ll drop her off, then start heading back home."

Just then Yvonne decided to make an appearance

“both of you should come aboard” Zurich said.

They had been three best friends right from when they were small and because of their close bond, some people sometimes took them for brothers, but they couldn’t be anymore different.  Zach the party, free-spirited type, Raymon the very quiet type who only talked when absolutely necessary and Zurich the sensible type.

The guy could have as well been their father, Zach thought wryly. He was the one always telling them what to do and what not to do, what was sensible and what was stupid, what was right and what was wrong and apparently, up till now, he still acted as their father figure. Still telling him what to do. But over the years, Zach had realized something, Zurich was never wrong. Daddy, was never wrong and it was absolutely true, Marilyn was going to be his downfall.  He had to stop pitying for the lost dog.
