"Yvonne, why don't you stay for dinner? The family would be delighted to have you and I believe we have some catching up to do" Zach's mom spoke up.

"I don't think..." Eve started but her father immediately cut her off

"She'll stay"

"Great!" Melinda said smiling triumphantly.

Yvonne merely raised a questioning eye at her father

"This is a chance to get a good story" her father whispered to her.

"No. That's too ordinary. Go change it and wear something more beautiful" her father said

"What do you know about fashion old man?" She retorted back teasingly

"Kate isn't this cloth splendid?" Eve said asking her elder sister

'It's wonderful but if you're going to the Knight's house for a good story, you should probably change"

"Fine" Eve said, sighing

"Whoah Eve! You look lovely" Mrs Knight exclaimed as Yvonne was ushered into the dining

"Thanks Mel. You're looking just as beautiful" Yvonne said smiling

"Oh I'm not so sure about that. Your beauty puts mine to shame" Mel retorted teasingly

You've met Zach already. Meet my younger, more charming son, Fred, and my beautiful daughter Ahsha"

"nice to meet you all. I sincerely hope I'm not imposing on a family dinner?"

"Not at all, my love" Fred said smiling and getting up to draw out the seat for Yvonne to seat.

"Your mom was right. You're a real charmer" she said appreciatively

My pleasure. Since I can't see any ring on your finger, I guess you're free. So can I get your number?"

"Hmmm... you know what, I just might give you before I leave"

'I'll hold you to that princess"

"Leave the lady alone Fred. She came for dinner, not to be seduced" Zach gritted out through clenched teeth. Tired of watching his brother charm the woman he wanted

"Okay. Okay. I'm backing off man. You don't have to look at me as if you want to chop my head off. I didn't know you had an interest in her. If not I wouldn't have gone near her"

He wanted to deny that but he knew it was true so he said nothing, watching Yvonne's reaction to that and she merely blushed and lowered her head down.

"Zach! Fred! Manners. You guys should stop embarrassing the poor girl or don't you know how to treat a lady?" Ahsha spoke up reprimanding her brothers and they Immediately stopped. It was obvious that they adored and respected her even if she was the last born.

When Eve first came in, Zach had been speechless. She wore a bright red long gown having a slit up to her mid thigh with red and gold stiletto heels that he had been too awed to say anything at first until his younger brother had started flirting with her and the pure unadulterated jealousy he had felt then had been so overwhelming that he could have killed Fred at that moment.

Mel merely smiled. She was sure now that her son had an infatuation for the beautiful Eve.

Eve had avoided eye contact with Zach throughout the meal. She knew she was supposed to he getting a story from him not avoiding him but she just couldn't help it. She didn't want to feel anything for him at all. Couldn't feel anything for him because in the end, it was her heart that was going to get broken. He was going to go back to Boston soon. Let's just get this over with she thought and said

"Mr Zachary, I'd like to speak to you personally. I wanted to perhaps draw out a story from you on how you spent the last five years and what were your challenges when you took up your Father's company. I don't know if you'd be willing to share that story Mr Knight and have it publicized?"

"Sure. Why don't you come down to the harbour tomorrow afternoon and ask for me? You'd be shown to my office"

"Thanks a lot for your cooperation Mr..."

"You can call me Zach" he said interruptingly. Damned if he was going to let her try to put a distance between them and try to be formal

"Then I guess you can call me Eve then"

And that was how the dinner went. Smooth and fun until Eve yawned and said she was tired.

"We have spare bedrooms in the house. Do you want to sleep over or you want to go home?" Ahsha asked

"I'd rather go home. I have some work to do this night at home, thanks for the invitation" Eve replied

"Well then, Zach, why don't you be a gentleman and take this lady home?" Mel said, immediately seeing this as an opening for her son and Eve to be together

"Sure" he said as they both stood up and went outside to his Prado jeep. They drove in silence as Yvonne was practically half asleep and wasn't in the mood for any sort of conversation.

"We're here" Zach said to Eve

"Thank you so much" Eve said grogingly and yawned, rubbing her eyes violently. And as she turned to open the door, Zach drew her back against him and kissed her thoroughly. It was a passion filled kiss. Quick, erotic and simmering with untapped desire. By the time they broke away, Eve was panting heavily, having held her breath for so long, with all the sleep gone from her eyes. Christ! What was that?!

"What was that?" She said, voicing out her thought. Her lips already swelling

"That was me telling you goodnight Eve" he said smirking

"Is that how you tell goodnight to every girl you carry?" Eve asked incredulously

"Nope" he said, making sure to pop the 'p'. "Just you"

"I think I'd like to go now. Thanks for the ride"

"You're welcome. Hope you're still coming by tomorrow?"

"Yeah. Sure I am
