imogen, welcome to RUSSIAN DOLL! thank you so much for requesting from my graphic lotto. for your PRECIOUS METALS trilogy i had two different ideas in mind, so instead of picking one of them, i followed through with both. i'll start by saying that i had trouble finding appropriate resources for your faceclaim, victoria moroles—so i just avoided using her altogether. i hope that's okay 😭 i'm really sorry, i just couldn't find anything consistent that i felt i could use across three covers.

          i was lowkey crashing out trying to figure out how to include all versions of the covers which is why there are suddenly gifs in this update 🥹 wattpad, please up your 20-image-limit. please.

anyways. i'll discuss theme i. first, which i technically made second. theme ii. has a much more sci-fi, capitol-inspired vibe, so for theme i. i went with a more star-typical vision. that means warm red, black and white: ornate serif fonts and a lot of gradient maps. for these covers, i used lyrics from the song iron by woodkid across IRON, SILVER and MERCURY as subtitling.

IRON is in colour with red slowly creeping (staining?) in. the creases in the paper texture on top are intended to look like bars. SILVER is in black-and-white with predominantly red text, as a stark contrast to MERCURY which is almost entirely black and red.

i chose a serif font for the subtitling and miscellaneous text for these covers; i selected the main title font since it gave me an alchemy-esque vibe. like the literal branch of natural philosophy alchemy 😭 i could not explain to you what's going on in this mind of mine.

          this trilogy of covers comes in a more muted, grey-ish colour scheme as well if you prefer that.

theme ii. like i said takes a more sci-fi approach. IRON depicts someone (presumably your oc!) wearing molten-metal gloves to demonstrate how she has the impression of control in her own, initial games. SILVER depicts your oc being suffocated by molten-metal hands to symbolise the tonal shift between the first story and the second. finally, MERCURY shows a fully molten-metal face to demonstrate the escalation of stakes that i presume will be in the final book in your trilogy.

          these covers come in an intense colour palette because i felt it works better; however there's that same muted one available for you as well if you like that more.
