Got you
(Thank you Cryatic for giving me this idea. Good job.)
In the silence, Sebastian's cell phone went off. With a groan, Sebastian opens his eyes and reaches over to pick up his phone. After a second of trying to find the small piece of metal in the dark, the tip of his fingers brush against the phone. With a quick movement, Sebastian grabs the phone and looks at who's calling.
"The precinct?" He mumbled to himself, tiredness lacing his voice. He flicks his thumb and puts the phone to hours ear? "Who the fuck is calling me at-" Sebastian looks over at his digital clock. "7 in the morning? I'm not even working today."
"Sebastian Castellanos." A very scolding voice says, not pleased with Sebastian's mood. "This is Mrs. Smith, your boss." Sebastian sits up quickly, apologizing for his tone of voice. But Mrs. Smith just laughs it off and gets straight to the point. "We found the one who caused the massacre at the mental hospital three months back. We were able to bring him in but he's refusing to talk to anybody. Well except you."
Sebastian sits there, the horrors coming back to him. He did not, absolutely did not want to talk to that, that murderer. He didn't care that it was his day off. But he hated the idea of starting into the face of the man who put him through hell. Yes, he knew that on the shell was a innocent boy. But that monster took over Leslie's body. He knew.
"Sebastian? Are you okay? We want you to come down and talk to him, do your usual good job of getting a confession." Mrs. Smith's voice snaps Sebastian out of his thoughts.
Sebastian takes a deep breath. It's okay, it's over now. You can get a confession out of him and he will never hurt anyone again. Sebastian thinks to himself. Do it for Joseph. Sebastian sits up straight, taking a deep breath. "Y-Yeah, I can go in and talk to him. I'll be there in ten minutes."
He can practically hear Mrs. Smith smile. "Great, I'll wait."
Sebastian took his last deep breath as he walked into his precinct. Man up, you can do it. It's not like your staring into the face of the man who tourchered you. Sebastian scolds himself silently, opening the door to the all to familiar place. It was nice for Sebastian to be around familiar things after the whole hospital thing.
Standing by the door was Mrs. Smith, her bronze hair pulled back into a ponytail to reveal more of her Indian skin which she took pride in. She looks over at Sebastian, her eyes focusing on the large man who was taller than her by a foot at least. She was not a tall woman, or even average height.
"Ah, Castellanos. We've been waiting." She says, pushing away from the wall she was leaning on with her shoulder. "All the other men have trouble even looking at him, 'cause his eyes are milky white." She walks over to Sebastian and walking to his side, cracking her neck to look up at him. Only then does she notice the discomfort on his face. She sighs and nudged him in the waist. "Do you want to do this? I'm not forcing you."
It feels like you are. Sebastian shakes his head. "I can do this. It's been months since the incident." He looks down on the small woman, smiling. "I'll be fine, I'm Castellanos after all."
Mrs. Smith rolls her eyes. "You are still cocky, ya know?" Sebastian just grins, and looks forward. Mrs. Smith sighs with her childlike annoyance, but points to one of the interrogation rooms. "Interrogation room 8, that's the room that man is in."
Sebastian nods, detaching from Mrs. Smith's side and walking quickly to the room. As soon as his hand hits the handle, he is hit by the same feeling he had back when he was in that monster's brain. A shiver runs down his back as he opens the door.
Sitting at the table; chair pulled up neatly, sat Ruvik. A calm smirk played on what was once Leslie's face. The milky eyes however, looked right at Sebastian just as calmly as his smile. His back only gets straighter as his smile grows.
"Mr. Castellanos." Ruvik says quite cool-ly. "I have been waiting." Sebastian doesn't talk, it seems like a golf ball got lodged in his throat. He can only walk in and sit down, closing the door behind him. "You know, the people here are very bad listeners. I told them many times that I wanted to speak to you. But only then did they listen when I told that woman, whom I am guessing it's the boss here. She's much smarter than everyone else here." Sebastian says nothing, just stares at the other man with hate. Ruvik laughs, leaning back in his chair.
"C'mon Seb, speak. There is nothing keeping you from speaking." Ruvik stops, his smile growing wider. "Perhaps your too scared to speak. Is that it?" When silence is met, Ruvik laughs. He knows he's right. "Oh my, the big bear is now scared of the little bunny."
Sebastian growls, slamming his hands down on the abused from its years at the precinct. "Shut up, Ruvik! We caught you! Just sign your damn confession and take the death penalty like a man! Don't hide behind your words!" Ruvik leans back, surprised at Sebastian's sudden outburst.
Ruvik places a hand in his chest, leaving forward over the table. "Oh Seb, I know I'm done for. I just wanted to talk to you before you take my life away from me." He leans back, still very calm and collected.
"What do you-" Sebastian starts, but Ruvik cuts him off.
"I wanted to talk to you. Simple as that." Ruvik says, spits. Silence creeps through the room like a plague. Ruvik after a minute speaks first. "You know, I'm fine to die. Because I know I will join Laura. Well if I believed in that mumbo jumbo religion stuff (Authors note: this is not what I think, it's how Ruvik is though. You are aloud to believe in what you want)." Ruvik frowns surprisingly, it almost seemed like his confidence was faltering. "I'm just glad I met some great people before I died."
Sebastian leans forwards, looking into Ruvik's eyes. "And who might those people be?" Ruvik laughs and leans forwards so his face is close to Sebastian's.
"You, my dear detective. I met you, and you showed me people; even after a fire takes their loved ones away, can still be a great person." Ruvik pauses, thinking. "I... I guess I respect you for that."
Sebastian blinks in surprise, he never thought that... That monster would say that to him. He was about to say something else when Ruvik speaks the last words he will.
"I have nothing else to say."
