The night came and I'm still wide awake. My memories of my past keep bubbling up and I hate it. I can't get the screams of my fellow brothers out of my head. Why?? I need to stop thinking about those fourteen years. I have to get it out of my head somehow. I don't know why I can't forget it.

"Kenshin? Are you still awake?" Kaoru asks.

I nod.

"Why are you still awake?" I ask Kaoru.

"I can't sleep. You?" She asks.

I nod. She sits down beside me.

"Kenshin, where did you learn to make that meal?" She asks.

"A bad place. A place where I became Batrosia." I answer.

"What place?" She asks.

I look down.

"It's too hard to talk about." I say.

"Oh I'm sorry." Kaoru puts her hand on my shoulder.

"It's just an old wound." I mutter.

She puts her head on my shoulder. I look at her surprised. She lets out a yawn. I guess I should try to sleep as well. I can't move because she's on my shoulder. The only thing I can do is sleep.
