I felt someone crawl on my bed, which is what woke me up but my eyes didn’t open until something heavy was thrown on me. I groaned, opening my eyes to see a little three year old devil with curly hair and cricked teeth smiling down at me. I glared at him, “Shiloh!” I yelled and he laughed hard, getting off me before running out of my room. “You little monster!”
I sat up on the bed, bring my hand up to my forehead and yawned loudly. My stomach growled pretty loudly and my stomach felt empty. I got back home late last night, around one A.M and now I have to go to school. The town fair is at five, so at least that was something to look forward to.
I got up from the bed and lazily walked out of the room. I held my hand against the wall, supporting myself. I walked into the bathroom and looked at myself. Jeez, I was a mess in the morning.
After getting myself ready—I had no time to brush my hair, so I just threw it up in a bun—and went downstairs. My evil little nephew was sitting at the table and Zoe gave me a friendly good morning. It was so much harder getting use to my new surroundings and new people. It happened so quickly and I haven’t really had a good conversation with Zoe. She seemed friendly and Shiloh was an over powder energy ball in a little boy body.
“I made breakfast!” Zoe happily cheered.
I paused mid-way into the dining room and turned, “Oh. Nah, I’m good—wait,” I said as a smell hit my nose and my mouth watered real badly. I walked into the kitchen quickly and saw some smoked ham on a plate. I don’t know why it looked like the most delicious thing in the world, but not thinking I went over and picked it up with my finger. I quickly ate all the pieces of ham, not thinking about anything but how hungry I suddenly was!
Disappointed when there was no more left, I went over to the fridge to grab some lunch meat but I found something better. I stared down at the bowl with raw steaks seasoned up. I picked up the bowl and not thinking about the red raw meat—I ate a piece of raw piece of meat. My eyes widen as my teeth sunk into the meat. It was so good! I rip off some with my teeth and chewed quickly. It was so good and I ripped off another chunk.
Devin walked in and his eyes widen. He snatched the bowl from me, “Hey! That’s for tonight dinner.”
I reached out to take it back, but he placed his hand on my shoulder, “Gimme me!” I cried out. “Devin! I’m hungry.”
“I can clearly see, you ate all the ham as well.” he said. “I know you’re hungry, Mat. It’s normal to feel very hungry when your first shift is coming up. If you wanted, you could eat a horse.”
“Then gimme me!” I whined, looking at the delicious raw meat with wide eyes. I whimpered, “I need it! I’m hungry, like really bad.”
“To bad.” he said. “Even, you still have a whole piece in your hand. I’ll make you a smooth, it’ll fill you up.”
“Screw smoothie, I want meat.” I said, lunging for the bowl but he pushed me away. I fell back on my ass and I glared up at him coldly.
“No, you can’t everything in the fridge. Too bad, to sad.” he said, grinning. “Down, Omega."
I breathed heavily out my nose, “Don’t call me that!”
Killian
I had my arm around Mat’s shoulders, holding her close to me as we and the others hung outside the school since we didn’t feel like going in right now. Will and a young boy name Andrew were wrestling around since Andrew was trying to act all tough. Will made a little comment and it pissed Andrew off. Will found it amusing and they both start messing around.
Will grabbed Andrew by his chest and pressed him down against his car, “Are you relaxed, Drew?”
Andrew held his hands up, “Alright, I give. Sorry.”
Will chuckled as he lifted Andrew up and patted his shoulder, “Don’t be such an idiot next time.”
“Was that you really showing him a lesson?” Marco asked, chuckling.
Will grinned, “I didn’t want to hurt the poor kid. He is only sixteen.” Will said, turning his back to face his car. He pressed the palm of his hands against the car, his muscles bulging a little since he was in a beater even though it was pretty chilly out. It seemed out of the ordinary, but he never tried to blend in.
“Where is Melinda?” Marco asked frustration as he looked away. “Damn girl is always disappearing.”
“You know she’s been distance lately.” Will said. “Where is Nate? I haven’t seen him since last night. Did he leave early last night, Mat?”
Mat shrugged, “Yeah. The kid is weird. He was giving me this strange weird look last night as if he didn’t like me. He doesn’t speak allot, does he?”
Marco shook his head, “No, not really. He’s very secretive but it gets on my damn nerve to much too even ask what his problem is. He hasn’t done anything to make me curious, I just mind my own business.”
Mat turned her head a little and I followed where her eyes were. I saw the girl she always use to be with. Emily I think her name was. She was walking towards the school building and Mat frowned. I knew how much it hurt for Mat to leave, but it was what was best for her. She couldn’t be herself back at the group home.
I rubbed her arm and brought my hand up to her chin, turning her face to look up at me, “Hey, smile.” I said, grabbing her chin and shook it lightly as I grinned down at her. “Let me see your pretty smile.”
She gave me an annoyed look before smiling real big, “Happy?”
I nodded and leaned down, kissing her. She chuckled, pressing her lips against mine for a moment before pulling away. I put my arms around her and held her close to me, “So, are you going to be my date tonight? Do normal human things like go on rides and play booth games?”
She chuckled, looking up at me, “Yes. And do other cute stuff you see on the internet.”
“Sounds perfect.” I said, leaning down and pecked her.
“Ugh, get a room.” Will said, rolling his eyes at us.
“Don’t be jealous because you don’t have anyone.” I sarcastically said.
“Technically, she was mine first.” Will sarcastically said back and I gave him a cold look. “She was mine even before she was born. I just let you have her.”
Mat scoffed and I glared at him, “Our souls are connected together like a puzzle, much stronger than parents arranging us.”
Will grinned, “Relax, cousin. I ‘happily’ stepped back away. Better?”
I snorted and looked down at Mat. I reached up and took her hair out of the bun, “Let your hair down, you have beautiful hair.”
She reached up and pulled the slouchy beanie off my head. She pulled it over hers, “No, my hair is a mess. It’s not easy to control hair like mine.”
“It’s not easy to control you.” I said, making her grin. I reached up and fixed the beanie on her head, “So,” I started and she arched her eyebrow. “My parents are coming down next week. They want to talk to me about you.”
“About me?” she asked and I nodded. “What about me?”
“Well I’m not gonna become the Alpha of Oregon son-in-law anymore.” I said sarcastically and she pursed her lips, giving me a look. I chuckled, “They want to know things about you. They know who you are and your parents.”
She groaned, “Really? Do you sound like they like me?”
I stared down at her for a moment, debating if I should tell her truthfully or not. “They know you’re my mate and that’s all that is important.”
She scoffed, rolling her eyes. She started to pull away, but I grabbed her arms, “No, wait. Let me talk. They’ll love you, once they get to know you.”
“Killian, you dad didn’t seem very interested that night in me you first shifted.” she said.
“Well, you did run out while I was in the middle.” I said and she hit my arm. I chuckled, “Look, you two will be formally introduced to each other. No matter if he likes your or not, he can’t say anything to us about being with each other.”
“You promise?” she asked.
I nodded, “Yes.” I said, leaning down and pecked her forehead.
Mat
I grabbed Killian hand and pulled him away from the group, “No, it should be just us. Not the others.”
“Oh, we feel the love.” Blue called out to us.
Killian chuckled, putting his arm around my shoulders, and pulled me close to him. I wrapped my arms around his waist, hugging it as we walked through the fair. “So,” I said. “Do you know what we’re supposed to do on dates?”
He shrugged, “Nope. I never been on a normal date and never with a girl I really, really like.” he said, kissing my cheek.
I smiled, “Well you know, I think it just needs to be real awkward.” I pulled away and put some space between us. “Yes, this is better. Like in the movies.”
He grabbed me by the waist and pulled me back to him. I was forced to walk backwards as his arms went around me, “But I don’t want you to be far away! Yes, this is better.” he said, making me chuckle. I could smell his cologne and it hit my nose pretty strongly. He smelled so good.
“I can’t see.” I said, using that excuse so I could turn around. He pressed my back against his chest, his arms around me still as we walked around the fair. “You know what I never tried before?”
“Huh?”
“A caramel apple.” I said. “I need food, I can seriously ate everything here and probably still be hungry.”
“I noticed the way you stole everyone food today at lunch.” he said, making me roll my eyes.
“Hey, I’m a growing wolf apparently. I need food to help me.” I said.

Killian held out the fork towards me with some funnel cake on it, grinning, “Open wide.”
I shook my head, “No. What am I baby?”
He chuckled, “Come on, open your mouth.”
I opened my mouth and he put the funnel cake in my mouth. My eyes widen and I almost spit the fried dough because it was pretty hot and burned my tongue just a little. I quickly chewed it and swallowed it. “How are you eating that like it doesn’t burn?”
“Because it’s called blowing on your food.” he said sarcastically and I hit his arm.
“Smartass.”
We walked over to a table and sat down. I happily looked down at my hamburger since I was getting hungry. It’s been an hour and I was surprisingly having allot of fun. Usually it’s boring for me, but I guess it’s because I always came with the group home and Ms. Summers always brought down my mood when I tried to do fun things.
“Funhouse next.” Killian said. He wiggled his eyebrows, “I wonder what makes it so fun.”
I grinned, “Don’t get your hopes up, big head.”
“I know, I know.” he said, biting into his funnel cake. “That’s what the woods are for.” he jokingly said and I kicked him under the table. He chuckled, “Uh, ow! Kidding. You can fight, but you’re such a prude.”
“I thought pack girls were supposed to be.” I said.
“Ah, correct answer.” he said.
I chuckled, “I always thoughts Blue and the other girls were kind of out there but they’re not. They just like to appear different.”
“You are different.” he said.
I nodded, ‘Yeah, I am. I thought maybe I was just a super hard tomboy with crazy ADHD but no—it’s because I wasn’t really truly a human. I guess . . . I just feel like I belong somewhere now.”
“You do, you’re no longer different from anyone else.” he said. “So,” he said, grinning. “Do I have to wait until tonight to give you a kiss?”
I chuckled and leaned over, kissing him. He brought his hand up behind my head, pulling me closer to him. I chuckled a little as I kissed him. I was surprised I was such a PDA person. I liked the affection though I guess. I usually hate attention, but I liked it when I got it from Killian and I don’t really care who sees.
I heard some people chuckling and I opened my eyes. I looked in the corner of my eyes and saw the some of the others. One of them was Melinda and my blood was on fire when I saw they were laughing at Emily. She had fallen on the ground in front of them and must have spilled a drink on her. I pulled away and I looked at them.
Killian saw and he sighed heavily, “Mat, don’t do anything.”
“What?” I questioned, looking at him as if he said something to offend me. “That bitch is bullying her. I’m tired of them always messing with someone.”
“That isn’t our problem though.” he said. “Tonight is about us, not others—Mat.”
I got up from the bench and walked over to them. Melinda looked up and gave me a snotty look. I glared at her, but I bent down and helped Emily up. Brown stain was all over her white hoodie and from what it smelled like it must have been hot chocolate.
“What happened?” I asked her.
She pulled away, “Nothing. Stay out of it.”
“Listen to her.” Melinda said.
I took a step towards her, “Well to bad, I’m butting in.”
“She ran into me, so I pushed her.” Melinda said, tilting her head to the side. “Happy? Didn’t think you care so much, since you have new people to care about.”
“Mat, stop it.” Emily said, grabbing my arm and tried to pull me away.
“I would walk away, Omega.” Melinda said and I pressed my lips tightly together. Ugh, that word is pissing me off right now! My hands balled into a tight fist as I glared at her. “Remember who I am, Omega. Don’t do anything stupid to get yourself in trouble.”
I lunged at her, but someone pulled me back by my shirt. Killian pulled me away and I fought to break free, but he held onto me pretty good. One day—one day I’m gonna beat her ass! I kicked the closes thing near me and it was trashcan.
“Hey, stop it!” Killian said, wrapping his arm around my waist and pulled me away from it.
I finally pulled away, “Stupid bitch, I just wanna kill her.”
“Hey,” he grabbed my arm and made me look at him. “I know you can’t stand her, but that’s the Alpha daughter. Do I wish you could? Yes but you can’t. Melinda is a spoiled brat who thinks of no one but herself.”
I saw someone come in the corner of my eyes and my back stiffen as I turned my head to look at Melinda. I pressed my lips together as I saw some other the other girls. Melinda pushed me and I stumbled back a little, my eyes widen. She made a huge mistake putting her hands on me!
I lunged at her, but one of the other girls attacked me by getting in Melinda way. I fell to the ground, with the girl on top of me. I didn’t know who she was, she was probably one of the older girls. I reached up, grabbing her by her hair but when I was about to pull her down she punched me across the face. I cried out and I started swinging back.
Melinda and her friends started to yell at her to punch me harder and Killian was yelling for her to get off me.
The pain firing in my nose didn’t stop me from punching the crap out of the girl on top of me but that didn’t stop her either. I started punching her in her stomach and I slid my knee up between us, tossing her off me. I crawled onto of her, pulling her legs down that she tried kicking me with and pressed my own knees into them. Our fist kept meeting each other and she actually lifted her head up to bite me in my arm!
I pulled at her hair and she cried in pain. I know there’s a rule about no hair pulling, but I didn’t care right now. She attacked me for no reason and I was gonna do anything to defend myself. I don’t even know this chick and she thinks she can attack me? What? Because Melinda told her to? Melinda didn’t want to mess her pretty nails up?
I felt someone grab my by my arm but I swung my arm, “Get off!” I yelled. I pressed my hands against the girl face, turning it to the side, and pressed her face against the dirt.
Another girl came over and grabbed me by my hair. She pulled me off the girl under me and she punched me across the face. I fell to the ground, grabbing my chin.
“Stop it!” Killian yelled and I lifted my head to see two guys holding him back.
Melinda glared at him, “This is Omega role. Be the punching bag.”
Feeling my blood boiling, I got up from the ground, and attacked the girl who pulled me by my hair. I tackled her to the ground and hit her in the face pretty hard a couple of times. She must not have been too much older than me, I was actually much stronger than her.
Someone grabbed me by the waist and pulled me off the girl. I turned my head to see Will so I looked forward and saw the others had come over.
“What is going on?” Marco asked angrily.
One of the other boys helped the girl off the ground and blood ran down from both her nose.
“None of your business.” Melinda said, rolling her eyes.
Marco grabbed her from her upper arm, “Why do I have a feeling you’re the reason.”
Melinda scoffed and pulled away, “I’m your sister! You’re supposed to be on my side!”
“You’re causing a huge fucking scene!” Marco yelled at her.
Killian walked over as the two siblings argued and Will let of me. He touched my face and I hissed when he touched my nose.
“Just go home!” Marco yelled and Melinda glared at him. “Go. Home. Now.”
She shook her head, looking at him disappointed, “I thought you were my brother.” she said, turning around and ran away.
Marco ran his hand through his hair and sighed heavily. He turned and looked at me. I held my chin up as he walked over towards me, “What happened?”
“Her friends tried jumping me!” I said. “She pushed me and when I went to lunge at her when she—“I said, pointing at the first girl who was being held by one of the boys, “attacked me.”
“You went to hit my sister?” he asked coldly.
My mouth dropped, “She pushed me! She wanted to start a fight and I wasn’t going to let her just do that and me not do anything.”
“Doesn’t matter! You’re still not in the pack and she is the Alpha’s daughter.” he said, making my eyes widen because I was getting heat because of what she did! I didn’t do anything but defend myself.
“Marco, she didn’t do anything—“ Killian started but Marco cut him off.
“You shut the hell up, Arkwright.” Marco said. He looked back at me with a hard look, “No matter what, you never go after someone whose apart of the Alpha family. I know my sister can be stupid, but you don’t go to threaten her. You just deal with it.”
“Deal with it?” I scoffed. “So I just let myself get beat up?”
“No.” he said. “But you don’t attack her.”
I stared at him in disbelief and he turned around walking away.
